Fort Amherst ghost hunt 4th March 2016
Chatham, Kent.

fort-amherst-003

This marks 10 years of me going to Fort Amherst for ghost hunts, I have no idea how many times I’ve visited, one day I’ll work it out but needless to say that every time I visit something different or interesting happens on a paranormal level.

My first session in the Upper Gun floor the guests experienced lots of movement; arms being lifted, swaying, pushing and being pulled backwards. One guest also felt being prodded in his back as well as feeling cold spots. This was all attributed to a young male spirit called Jez or Jeremia. He was 15 or 16 years old and from 1660s and was a Soldier.

In the Sally Port I saw a dark mass, like a shadow behind two of the guests although there was a female spirit in the room as she was waiting for us to leave.

The second group once again experienced lots of arm movement, pushing and swaying. Although this time there was a more Nordic feel about it. The arm movements were that of a Nordic greeting.

Once again cold and warm spots were felt by the guests.

There was also a female spirit from 1700s but she did not give her name and continued to watch us.

The third group didn’t experience much at all, although they didn’t ask for anything to happen or seem to engage with the activity.

All in all, an excellent ghost hunt with the majority of the guests getting some paranormal occurrence or evidence of the paranormal in their sessions.

Charlton House ghost hunt – 4th July 2015

Wednesday, July 29th, 2015

Charlton House ghost hunt 4th July 2015
Greenwich, London

Since we have been to this venue before I decided to move the team around and for different activities to take place in different rooms.

This time around I used the Library for my séance sessions.

I joined Wayne & Paula for their first session in rooms that used to be bedrooms. I pointed out at various times the spirit who I could see, the first one was a stocky chap who was called Antony who was a Rose gardener and he wore a green shirt or top and light brown trousers. Wayne could sense someone in the doorway but did not know who it was.

Also when three people left the room with Paula I noticed that there were two nurses, both dressed in World War One uniforms chatting in the corridor, neither seemed to be interested in what we were doing.

The first group to the Library we started a séance on the lower level and we were joined almost immediately by a strict looking Edwardian gentleman who turned out to be a banker. He was wearing a smart three piece pin stripe suit and a top hat. Whilst he didn’t give me his name he looked to be in his late 50s. As I said at the time, he looked like the bankers from the film Mary Poppins.

The was also an old couple, walking hand in hand down the side of the room holding a small bunch of flowers, both looked to be in their 70s and the man called his wife Agatha. They looked to be on their way to church or to place flowers at a grave side. They did not interact with us.

During the séance we all heard a number of clicks and bangs within the room, one of the guests suggested that this might have been materials of the building cooling down after a hot day, although this sound was not heard by the following group. We also heard footfalls on the upper level but the sounds were not heard by everyone in the same direction.

There were a few arm movements during the first séance and some swinging of arms, this was a soldier from the First World War who was responsible for these movements although he tired quickly and the group did not encourage him to do anything.

After everyone had explored the upper level we held another séance this time sitting down and although no movement was felt by anyone it did increase the energy in the room as we heard a lot more odd noises and towards the end of the session we all clearly heard a noise that sounded like a cane being tapped on the wooden floor twice.

The second group to the Library we started a séance more or less in the same spot as the first and quite quickly people around the circle started to feel pressure on their arms and hands, but more noticeably on their backs and legs. Some people were swaying uncontrollably, others being forced towards the floor.

It seemed that those in a certain spot felt the activity greater than the rest of the guests and some of those who were being moved also felt cold spots and a general coldness (this was on a hot day where the air temperature was 26-28 degrees Celsius in the day and 17 degrees at night).

During the séance we all heard noises that sounded like footfalls on the upper level, these were in different areas to the first group and these noises sounded more complete, like proper footsteps rather than the sound of just one, like something had been dropped.

Several people had their arms moved by spirit too and swayed as there were children spirit about, although I did not see these, but other people in the group could sense them.

A few times the circle of people moved clockwise so that everyone could feel the spot where it was colder and where movement seemed to occur.

This was another excellent ghost hunt with lots of paranormal activity experienced by everyone.

We look forward to returning later in the year.

Toys Hill ghost hunt – 23-8-2013

Toys Hill and Weardale Manor ghost hunt 23rd August 2013
Toys Hill, Kent

The weather forecast for this event wasn’t brilliant with an anticipation of rain and thunderstorms due, however and fortunately for us this stormy weather never materialised. The night however was relatively warm and the view from the top of the hill was somewhat murky, usually there is a nice view of the South Downs. The paranormal activity started in a very typical way, but as the night progressed so did the activity.

Around the Manor house in what I believe to be the hub of the house I handed out some of our electronic gadgets and after telling people to turn their phones off or to put them onto flight mode the EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) detectors started to show spikes of activity with several “hot spots” becoming apparent. The guests wandered freely around the site trying to communicate with the spirits and I joined various people in different parts of the site. On the terraces there was a varied amount of spirit energies, one of which was called David who was in his early 20s and whilst he didn’t say what he did for a living he was obviously an outdoor worker as he wore heavy and dirty boots. The guests were able to ask him personal questions and get sensible answers. Many guests also took photos during this time and some had light anomalies (orbs) whilst other had more interesting mists that appeared at the edge of their photos but not all the photos, it was like the spirits were teasing us.

I also saw a butler, probably the senior butler Alfred who didn’t interact with anyone, he did watch us closely, although I have seen this particular spirit before.

Various groups of people whilst wandering around had electronic communication with different spirits including a maid called Alice who was in her 20s and of a slim build, with light brown hair neatly tied at the back, who was attracted to the younger members of our group.

After telling the guests about certain smells that people in the past have smelt at this site which are nothing to do with the woods and parkland today but not telling what type of smells one guest said that she thought she smelt floor polish but didn’t tell me immediately as she thought that it sounded silly or part of her imagination.

From here we moved to the woods, as the séances that I hold in the woods have an altogether different feeling, it is also strangely active in one particular part. On forming a circle and explaining what would happen or might happen several guests arms started to move and when I asked them to ask the spirit whose name was Edward (also a spirit I have met before here) their arms moved on command. Another guest also commented that he felt very warm and even hot on his back, whereas the person standing next to him, felt cold on her back.

After Edward had moved the arms of all of the guests that he could (not everyone) he then proceeded to sway, push and pull backwards other people. Many of these were pushed or pulled back in unison and at one point four people were all moving in exactly the same way, which were small circular motions. One of the younger guests was pulled back more frequently than anyone else and he likened it to being on a boat.

At the end of the séance I asked all guests to think of a question to ask Edward as part of an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice experiment). The results of which can be heard below

http://youtu.be/fT-IBwXPX4I

http://youtu.be/Dy0Pqdf1sQo

http://youtu.be/EArduB9W9Gs

http://youtu.be/0XPupJUVtPk

After this I also tried to use my spirit box (a device that scans the AM or FM radio stations in reverse at 100ms) but unfortunately this didn’t work very well, as for some reason it picked up lots of normal radio signals (usually there are no radio signals in the woods) and whilst I thought I did hear some voices, there was too much radio interference to be positive of this.

Setting up the laser grid also had its own problems as every set of batteries that I put into the device drained almost immediately and I used 5 sets of batteries in a matter of minutes. This phenomena happened frequently on this particular evening, various people had their camera batteries drain almost as soon as they turned them on. This has not happened here before.

After leaving the woods and heading back towards the manor house area, the KII EMF meters and communicators all came back to life with lots of spikes and communication.

All in all a very interesting ghost hunt with some good physical activity felt by the majority of the guests that they could not explain or find a rational answer.

Toys Hill and Weardale Manor ghost hunt – 17-5-2013

Toys Hill and Weardale Manor ghost hunt 17th May 2013
Toys Hill, Kent

Toys Hill and Weardale Manor is one of our locations where the level of activity that is experienced by the guests is always surprising, not least because the location doesn’t seem scary or likely to produce much spiritual activity, but actually is one of the more active outdoor locations.

This ghost hunt I always start in the same place, the site of the old manor house, as the level of paranormal activity felt by the guests is usually something memorable, but it takes time and patience for the guests to experience something.

As usual after asking everyone to turn their phones off the level of activity seen on our electronic equipment surged, this is relatively normal, as mobile phones interfere not only with our equipment but also the level of spiritual activity.

Guests wandered around the perimeter of the manor house, many had spiritual contact on our various equipment. One guest felt a touch on her head and at one point we were all standing on one of the terraces a guest asked that someone we touched or moved. Although I could not see the spirit energy present, I knew which person they were going to move and stood back one step and pointed to the person that was going to be moved, half of the guests could see who I pointed to. Almost immediately the guest that I pointed to felt a touch on her lower back.

Doing this time the spikes seen on our KII (EMF) Meters was outstanding.

From here were moved into the woods to hold a séance, as the woods seem to be where the spirit energies can move and manipulate people. A spirit energy in his mid-50s joined us, he was a farmer who produced cider. The séance started with lots of arm movement, which not only surprised the guests but also exciting and frightened them at the same time. This then progressed after I asked to pushing and pulling people forwards and backwards and generally whoever I asked the spirit to move, they moved.

Many guests felt physical movement either swaying or twisting and those standing nearest to me or opposite felt themselves being pulled downwards, eventually everyone was moved in some way. I asked many times for the spirit to do the same thing to everyone and eventually we all were moved into the “Musketeer’s All for one sign”. The séance ended with an odd movement felt by everyone, which was an anticlockwise twist which everyone moved at the same time.

As we were about to leave the woods I turned on my Spirit Box (a device that scan backwards through the FM radio frequencies at 100ms). Some basic Yes and No answers were heard to questions and then a guest asked how many men were present in our group and a very clear “One” was heard, which was correct.

Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt and one in which all the guests felt some form of physical paranormal activity.

Fort Borstal – 12-1-2013

Wednesday, January 16th, 2013

FORT BORSTAL GHOST HUNT 12th January 2013

I was with Steve most of the night but a couple of highlights for me were; during our second session in the casement galleries I went with some guests to the opposite end to Steve and three guests.  We held a séance circle and initially most of the guests felt like they were being swayed, like on a boat.  Then some guests had some gentle arm movement, to their amazement.  All were enjoying the feeling, until one guest felt like a hand around his wrist.  This unnerved him somewhat and after calming down we realised our session had ended.

After our two controlled sessions I took a group of guests to the Officers Mess.  We tried table tipping but unfortunately only heard the odd taps under the table, however we did hear heavy footsteps in the corridor.  Helen (team) who was filming went to investigate but it stopped.  When she came back into the room we would hear them again.  We then decided to try a séance circle in the corridor, this was very enjoyable as all the guests had some gentle arm movement.  The guests would ask in their head for spirit to move their arms a particular way, and to their surprise they got what they asked.

I then went with a group of guests to the Caponier.  As we went in a group of guests were just finishing talking to spirit on the Ouija table, however when we tried only slight movement on the glass was felt.  But to our amazement we heard a stone thrown on to the ground next to us.  We looked for the stone and found one in a small gulley.  Just when we resumed with the Ouija table we heard another stone fall to the ground.  Again when looking saw a white stone next to the first one, and we knew that one had not been there before.  Then whilst trying the Ouija table again we heard a third stone being thrown onto the wet concrete, however after much searching could not find it.  Here is a photo of the two stones.

Fort Horsted ghost hunt – 8-12-2012

Fort Horsted ghost hunt 8th December 2012
Chatham, Kent

This ghost hunt was the last to take place at Fort Horsted for 2012 and we were hoping that the spirits would make this event special; we and our guests were not disappointed.

Each member of the Ghost Hunt Events team has their favourite location within this fort and although I do not enjoy the stairs (all 192 of them) I do enjoy taking the guests to the counterscarp galleries, as something interesting usually happens to the guests.

My first group were joined by a male energy called Michael who was 27 years old, about 6’ in height and generally well built. Michael gave the year as 1950s when he worked at the Fort as a maintenance man and plumber.

During the séance part of the session Michael was easily able to move the arms of the guests, mainly on command but also into unusual positions as well. Michael also proved that he was standing behind guests by pushing them and pulling them backwards.

Many of the guests felt cold spots and temperature fluctuations around them as well as tingling sensations. Some of the guests felt the full effect of Michael’s attention and swayed these guests in all directions. Some of the time Michael wanted to stroke the chins and faces of guests. Why never became clear.

I asked that Michael should do something different as a finale and although I had an idea (as did everyone) what was going to happen, as all our arms were being manipulated towards the centre of the circle like the musketeers “all for one” salute. Then out of nowhere we all were pushed to the right in a circular motion.

I then held an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment and guests asked Michael questions about him.

There were several responses but the clearest can be heard at:-

http://youtu.be/rQ8qDIVjm_c
http://youtu.be/oaKPrS3iwjk

The second group to the same area Michael was present again, but this time a female energy called Chloe had also joined us. Chloe was about 5’8” in height, blonde and dressed in a Second World War army uniform. She told me that she was a gunner (Anti-Aircraft) at the Fort during the Second World War.

Once again all the guests were treated to some interesting arm movements, which for the second time that evening mostly on command plus the face and hair stroking that the first group encountered.

This session however there wasn’t much physical movement, although some guests did get pushed and pulled but not to the same extent as the first group.

Many guests reported that they felt numb as the spirit moved them. Shadows were also seen in the doorways and at time we all heard some very strange noises, which we could not fathom.

The third group to the counterscarp galleries felt the spirit energies of both Michael and Chloe. Once again many guests felt their arms being manipulated and for the second time this evening the majority of the guest’s arms were moved to form the “all for one” salute.

Some guests also had the urge to laugh a lot as the spirit energies neared to them. Both Michael and Chloe were responsible for this as well as pushing guests into each other which proved very amusing from our point of view.

At the end of this Séance I held another EVP experiment and once again there were lots of answers to the guests questions but the majority of the answers we (and our experts) could not work out exactly what was being said, however there is one clear answer which can be heard at:-

http://youtu.be/jf13g8kCAzg

After we had completed our controlled sessions the guests were then able to go to any area of the fort that they wished under supervision from us, the majority went to continue with Ouija boards in two distinct areas of the Fort.

I and another team member went off to do our own EVP recordings and although I have nothing yet to show for it, we are still analysing the results as we recorded about 20 EVPs in the space of about 10 minutes. Early indications are that we have some extremely clear answers to our questions, which will be published on the website as soon as we can complete our analysis.

All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the level of spiritual activity was extremely high, we cannot wait to return to Fort Horsted in March 2013.
