Newhaven Fort ghost hunt 18th March 2017
Newhaven, East Sussex

Newhaven Fort is a new venue for us in 2017, and after a site visit back in January I was really looking forward to the event itself.

I started both my sessions in the Laboratory, in both sessions we were joined by spirit, the strongest spirit was a chap called Stanley, a Second World War soldier aged in his mid-40s who could lift peoples’ hands and arms, push people and pull people backward off their feet.

The second session the spirits were less forthcoming but nevertheless they were still able to move us.
After both sessions, I asked everyone to think of a question to ask spirit and recorded their questions and a gap after each question for spirit to respond in the hope of recording a spirit voice (a.k.a. EVP – Electronic Voice Phenomena). At the time of writing, the audio files are still being analysed.

After the second session, I asked questions via a spirit box in the hope of hearing a spirit voice but unfortunately none were forthcoming.

The East Bastion and Caponier were strange places to be and many guests wandered (quite quickly!) through them, on several occasions footsteps and other noises we heard behind the person exploring and whilst this area is known for ghostly whistles, none were heard.

We are looking forward to our return to this fort in October 2017.

Fort Amherst – 20th May 2016 – Kym

Fort Amherst ghost hunt 20th May 2016
Chatham, Kent

fort-amherst-1

Area: Upper Gun Floor

Ouija & Table Tipping, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums & Human Pendulum
We started with half the group on Ouija, and the other half on Table Tipping.  We had slight movement on both.  We then tried the Human Pendulum and had the spirit of a male soldier step forward.  He had passed in his 20’s from a head injury.  His wife was also with us.  One of the guests had his name as Archibald.  He had murdered someone, for stealing his money.  He was happily married, who then stepped forward, her name was Elizabeth.  We did try the table tipping again and had a lot of rocking but no more.  We then used the dowsing rods & pendulums, and guests enjoyed exploring and communicating with the spirits.

With my second group again we started with table tipping and had some rocking, one more than another with a lot of spins, rocking and walking across the room to where the spirit was standing, after hearing noises from that area.  We then all tried the very large table and was able to get a lot of movement, rocking rapidly, tipping up and holding to one side when asked.  Two guests at one end of the table both had blowing in their ears at the same time.  Jenny (guest) kept feeling like someone was pulling on her trousers.  We tried the Ouija and had the spirit of Edgar, from 1943 aged 23.  He was pushed down the stairs here in this room and died of a head injury.  The man that pushed him was having an affair with his wife.  People have experienced being pushed on these stairs.  Was this the reason why?  His wife Charlotte who was a nurse, had tried to make him better.  Others were using the rods & pendulums to communicate with the spirits, a male spirit confirmed he was the one that had moved the large table.

With my last group we had a little movement on the Ouija & table tipping, but not enough to communicate.  Tried the large table and had some gently rocking.  Used the rods & pendulums for a short while, but everyone wanted to try the human pendulum.  We had a spirit come through that had known Mark (guest).  He was able to communicate with him.
In the free session I joined Mark and his family in the Salle Port, we started with table tipping and had some slight movement.  We then switched to glass work, and with a yes & no established communicated with the spirit with us.  We were hearing noises around us, and did hear and feel a breath.
A great night at Fort Amherst again!

True Crime Museum – 4th June 2016 – Steve

True Crime Museum ghost hunt 4th June 2016
Hastings, East Sussex

true-crime-museum

The True Crime Museum is an odd place, hence why we hold ghost hunts here, but our first event in February didn’t reveal anything unusual or menacing. This time though, is a different story.

This was in many ways, one of the strangest ghost hunts that I have ever undertaken. There were only a few guests, which may explain why it happened but the team were all affected by spirit at one point or another. Some of us were only affected once in a minor way, whilst others were affected all night.

We started the ghost hunt with a séance in the aptly named “Death Chamber”, the idea behind this was to build the energy that would last throughout the rest of the evening.

It all started well, with two brother spirits who joined us, starting to move guests by their hands and arms and as happened on our previous visit in February, the spirits tried to pull people backwards over the railings. The two male energies were Royal Mail post men from the year 1900, only one gave his name as David Webb.

Sue (team) was picking up on a smell of horses and was telling us about what she was sensing, when she announced that she wasn’t feeling right. So I made my way over to remove her from the circle. After she came out she explained that she became dizzy and didn’t feel right. Emma (guest) during this time also had dropped her head and was unresponsive to us calling her name. As Sue and myself made our way to Emma, she collapsed on the floor. I decided that closing the séance circle was the safest thing to do.

When then took a break so that those that were affected could recover.

After a tea break we continued with a table tilting session which was something sporadic, one minute the table was walking and moving, next it was stationary followed by some more movement. At one point this table was walking between the two rooms (the two rooms were linked by a small tunnel) which was interesting in itself.

After a short break we handed out equipment to the guests (and instructed them on how to use them) and let them wander around the museum, communicating and asking questions of the spirit.

I had just walked back into another room to collect another piece of kit, when Louise (team) came out of the “Death Chamber” and looked at me in an odd way, it was more of a surprised look. When I spoke to Louise and asked if she was alright it became clear that she wasn’t as her eyes were glazed over and she was unresponsive. It was necessary that Louise should exit the venue as the spirit that had more control over her than she did herself. It took three of us to remove her from the Museum and she was kicking and fighting with us that she didn’t want to leave, although gave no reason as to why.

After she was outside she couldn’t remember anything that had happened and only remembered going into the “Death Chamber” with a KII (EMF Meter).

As I walked back into the Museum on my own I could feel a malicious spirit energy present, although didn’t pay much attention to him as I was heading to see how the guests were getting on. At this time, I felt disorientated, dizzy and lost.  As I stood there I was aware of these feelings but unable to do much about it and then whatever had stopped me, had gone away and I was able to move again, although I had no idea what I was doing or going to do, so I returned to the base room.

Jason (team) also felt a sensation of being confused and disorientated once in the “Death Chamber” during the séance and at other times throughout the evening.

Guests continued to communicate with spirit and had a long conversation with a spirit using a Ouija board which revealed truths about what had happened on the night. Unfortunately, I wasn’t present so don’t know the full details. Louise during this time was still recovering as she felt weak.

Once we left the venue everyone felt OK, albeit tired.

All in all, this was a very unusual ghost hunt with some strange activity felt by various people including guests and team.

We look forward to returning in July

Landguard Fort – 9th April 2016 – Steve

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 9th April 2016
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

I forget how many times that we have investigated this fort however we enjoy every one as the activity and the experience is different every time. There are many rooms here, which I still haven’t investigated or even entered.

For all my sessions on this occasion I held them in the guardhouse at the entrance of the fort.

We were joined by a spirit called George who was a Second World War soldier at the fort but lived through the war years and passed away at the age of 55. Plus, there was an older spirit from 1830s, also a Soldier in the Army and held the rank of Major. This spirit did not give his name.

In all sessions the spirit was able to move and manipulate people and in many cases pushed people to the floor and held some of them on the floor, unable to get up on their own.

This was all very amusing which seem to heighten the activity and the experience of the guests with more people being manipulated as time wore on.

The videos of the séance sessions can be watched at: –

This was another excellent ghost hunt at the fort with many people experiencing paranormal activity and having their own paranormal evidence in the free session. We look forward to our return in October 2016.

Landguard Fort – 19th December 2015 – Steve

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 19th December 2015
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

This was our last ghost hunt of the year and we were hopeful that it was going to be a good event, we were not disappointed.

I chose one of the magazine rooms for my séances. These room often have spirit who want to be noticed or what to let people know that they are present.

The first group had loads of paranormal activity with people’s arm being moved on command and sometimes at the will of the spirits. People were also forced and pushed to the floor and unable to get up.

The spirit responsible for this was a Second World War Army soldier called Toby approximately 24 years old. There were also two Ladies present from the same era who were Radio Operators, although the ladies were in the Navy.

The second group to the same area also have lots of paranormal activity with people being moved quickly and being shoved across the room as well as lots of arm movements.

Some of the guests including myself at times felt dizzy and disorientated but this was not caused by any movement.

This was an excellent ghost hunt and we look forward to returning in 2016. All the guests had some form a paranormal activity experience in either of the sessions that we held.

Landguard Fort – 6th November 2015 – Steve

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 6th November 2015
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

For this evening I chose one of the magazine rooms near to the Caponier told hold my séances.

We were joined in this room by two Second World War Army soldiers; Georgie and Frank, both aged in their early 20s and both wanted to have fun.

The first group didn’t get much in the way of physical movement, although we could hear lots of strange noises and footsteps.

The second group experienced lots of movement including pushing people against the walls and pulling them by their arms to the floor. Once again some strange noises were heard but no footsteps.

The third group all experienced their arms being moved and some people were swayed, pushed and twisted as well as being pulled to the floor. We have no idea if there were strange noises or not in this group since we were all laughing so much.

This was an excellent ghost hunt with everyone experiencing some form of paranormal activity either during the séances or one of the other sessions.

Landguard Fort – 30th January 2016 – Steve

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 30th January 2016
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

Landguard Fort is one of my personal favourite venues. I always look forward to going here and using a different room or area since the site is so vast with many rooms that we have yet to experience.

For this event I chose two of the rear facing gun rooms, I had never worked in these rooms before so thought it would be a good place to be for the night.

The first group experienced a Boer War Soldier (1880) who had murdered his wife because she had an affair and subsequent baby with another man.

This spirit touched and moved just about everyone in the séance circle with guests being pushed to the floor and having their arms moved on command. One guest was pushed to the floor and was unable to get up until we had closed the séance circle.

The second group didn’t seem to want anything to happen, the spirit was able to move and touch people within the séance circle although many of the guests didn’t ask the spirit to touch them, yet were disappointed when they didn’t get touched.

The third group had loads of activity and we were joined by a Policeman (a Bobby) from around 1900 who was able to push and drag people by their arms around the room. Many times one guest was pushed into an old fashioned bike, the sort that would have been used by such a Policeman.

There was also an American Soldier from the Second World War era present who wanted to move people as well. This particular spirit was the one responsible for pushing people to the floor.

This was an excellent ghost hunt and we will be returning later in year to experience more spiritual and paranormal behaviour.

Nothe Fort – 16th January 2016 – Steve

Nothe Fort ghost hunt 16th January 2016
Weymouth, Dorset

nothe-fort-00

As a team we were really looking forward to this event as it has been a couple of years since we had been able to hold a ghost hunt at this huge Fort. The problem was that the fort could never find staff who were willing to work at the unsociable time required for a ghost hunt.

I chose a magazine room for my sessions

My first session we were joined by Toby a spirit from 1630s aged in his late 30s and Cecil, a Second World War soldier. Both spirits were able to manipulate people and move them in some way. During this time, we also heard some unexplained noises.

The second group also felt the presence of Cecil and some movement was felt by some guests.

The third group experienced lots of movement, most of it on command as well as strange horse related smells, many of which were not pleasant.

The fourth group we were joined by a Second World War Captain who didn’t give his name, although he was stationed in Weymouth during the war. This spirit was able to move everyone with ease, whether they wanted to be moved or not.

Many people in all groups felt hot and cold spots and heard strange noises, although this Fort is on a headland and some of these noises could have been caused by the wind, as the early part of the night was windy. It became still as the night progressed.

This was an excellent ghost hunt with all groups experiencing paranormal activity but unfortunately the Fort Management have cancelled all future events from all ghost hunting groups and companies based on an uneducated, ill-informed and close-minded opinion of the world of ghost hunting. Probably acquired from something the committee members watched on television, which is made for entertainment purposes. Not the real world of ghost hunting.

Landguard Fort – 6th November 2015 (Kym)

Tuesday, January 12th, 2016

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 6th November 2015
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

Area: Guard House
Landguard Fort is one of my favourite venues, the fort is vast, with many areas to investigate, and the presence of spirits always felt around us.  When I initially arrived I walked around, and when entering into the ground floor tunnel complex I immediately felt the presence of spirit walking with me.

I chose to work in the Guard House, doing the Human Pendulum.  With my first group we had a male spirit connected to this area, and from the 1400’s.  He was from Finland and had travelled here with his family.  His parents were smugglers and he had learnt the trade from them, including how to build his own boat.  He had met a British lady, married her and had two children.  However, they had all died at sea.  They had been selling their produce on the seas, which consisted of food and clothes bought from the mainland, when other smugglers had wanted to take his wife, and they had all perished.  The spirit gave his name of Bob, he was very tall, over 6′, and had blond hair and blue eyes.  As the guests had been here before, and encountered a male spirit in the shower room, they wanted to investigate there, so off we went.  Again we did the human pendulum, and although no male spirit was there, a female spirit they had met before joined us. She was a foreign lady, and had not committed suicide as the guests previously thought, but in fact had been pushed.  She had been seen by one of the guests before in a different room, and she wanted us to go there now, which we did.  Whilst standing in that area quietly we all heard a noise like tapping metal.  On checking, this noise could have come from pipes on the ceiling being tapped, or a chair in the next room.  Then asking for the noise again we all heard a bang on the wooden door.
With my next group, whilst communicating to spirit with the human pendulum, a female spirit joined us.  She said she was the foreign lady from earlier, and again she was pushed.  She said her name was Maria.  The next spirit that came through was female and her friend.  However, when asking a little more about them, it seemed they were not connected to the fort or the area, and both passed within the last five years, and wanted to go the light.  I had some guests in the group that were sensitive to spirit and were feeling the same, so with their help we invited the two female spirits to pass over to the light.  However, with the communication starting again with spirit, we soon realised Maria had gone over, but her friend hadn’t.  After communicating with her for a short while we helped her pass over too.  Jules (guest) could feel someone touching her shoulder, who we believed to be the male spirit that had pushed the female spirit(s).  He didn’t want to go to the light.  Starting the pendulum again, Paula (guest) to my right was still feeling incredibly upset.  Although being sensitive to spirit, she had not been able to understand her experiences, and didn’t know why she kept seeing a young girl sitting on the floor, hugging her legs, upset and not looking up.  Paula was also aware of a nun with this girl too.  We decided to communicate with the girl first before offering to help send her over.  She was in her 20’s, was in prison for doing wrong, and had starved to death.

The nun had been her friend at the convent.  The girl’s name was Josephine, and Paula could see her now looking up, and feeling happy with us trying to help her.  So we then helped Josephine go to the light, however whilst doing this we all heard a loud female whistle.

With my last group the first spirit was male who had worked here during WW2, he was an engineer who had maintained the guns.  As we had guns in the room with us, three by the door, he confirmed he had maintained the first and third one.  The second spirit was a female who had worked at the fort during WW2 as a nurse.  She had passed of old age between 1950 – 2000.  She had been married but no children, she had miscarried more than once.  She was kind enough to show me what she looked like, auburn curly hair, wearing a blue and white floral dress, medium build and possibly around 5’6″ tall.  She was riding a bicycle with a basket on the front, through open fields/countryside in Suffolk.  She was from Ipswich.  She loved coming to the fort in spirit, and liked one of the male workers here.  That person has seen and felt her here.  She gave us her name as Susan, and asked the guests to find her in the shower area.  We then had a male spirit come through, from WW1 and connected to the fort.  He had fought in the Battle of the Somme, and had died there.  Whilst talking to this spirit we all heard a female noise/giggle.
We then finished that session by all the using the dowsing rods and pendulums I had brought, and with Lynn (guest) able to use the rods very well, I took the guests to the shower area to continue communicating with Susan.  I left them there, and later they told me that after talking to Susan for a while they moved down the tunnel to the next room, but returned when they heard a lot of noise coming from that area.  On looking they saw the plastic toy rat that had been hanging on the wall/shelf was now on the floor in the next room.
Fantastic night, with such lovely guests, and all having some amazing experiences!

Fort Borstal ghost hunt – 18th July 2015

Friday, July 31st, 2015

Fort Borstal ghost hunt 18th July 2015
Rochester, Kent

This event was a little different than our normal events because we had a group solely for our VIP Privilege guests (http://www.ghosthuntevents.co.uk/vip.php)

The VIP’s started with me first as I held a séance in the Caponier. I have started to move the team around into different areas at this Fort because too often we as team members stick to certain or favourite rooms, so on events that we visit regularly the team will generally be working in different areas than previous times.

During the séances in the Caponier we were joined by two male spirits, one called Cecil who was stationed here in the Second World War as a gunner with the Territorial Army, City of Rochester battalion. Their job was to man the anti-aircraft guns at the Fort and help protect Chatham Docks. The other spirit was called Philip and he was a British pilot who crash landed between Fort Borstal and the now non-existent Fort Bridgewood. Philip did not die from his injuries although he suffered terrible burns to his left side.

During the séances guests were moved by their arms around the room, pulled to the floor, pushed against the walls and had their arms raised as high as they could stretch. Many people also felt that they were swaying although they did not notice at first and it took the people standing next to them to tell them. Cold spots that moved around the room were common, although this particular room is open to the elements (there is no door) but it was warmer outside than inside.

After we finished our controlled sessions guests were allowed to venture off on their own to hold their own ghost hunt and to use our equipment to do so. Many guests had strange and paranormal occurrences whilst investigating on their own.

All in all this was an excellent ghost hunt and the VIP’s were asked what they enjoyed about the night, these videos are on our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqWQMrZeI7VRO5B3eXYak5UiQTRDsxxTU
