Old Forde House – 11th March 2017 – Steve

Old Forde House ghost hunt 11th March 2017
Newton Abbot, Devon

When we are walking around the venue deciding on which team member is going to be in which room we all heard noises, voices and footsteps. This made Carol (the night custodian) very nervous, but to us this is reasonably normal and created the right kind of mood for the evening that awaited us.

The room that I chose for my sessions used to be a bedroom (upstairs at the end of the house) and on all three sessions spirit joined us.

The first session was a male spirit called Richard, who was in his early 30s. He was a footman for the house and said that he was here in 1855.
He could lift peoples’ arms and move people in just about any way anyone asked him to do. However most of the movements were pulling people by their arms or pushing them to the floor. This was very amusing for everyone.

The second session there was a female spirit called Miss Bossingham, she was dressed in an Edwardian dress and she carried a parasol. There was also a male spirit called Clive who was a golfer (dressed in golfing attire) from the 1920s and every so often another male spirit who was an Army Officer from the First World War just kept popping in.

With all these spirits there was no noticeable movement, the spirits just wanted to be noticed it seemed.

The third session we were joined by Richard (from the first session) and Miss Bossingham and Clive (from the second session). After a slow start, there was lots of arm movement, touching and pulling people to the floor.

This was a very enjoyable ghost hunt with lots of paranormal activity reported by the guests. We are looking forward to our return visit in September.

Fort Amherst – 20th May 2016 – Steve

Fort Amherst ghost hunt 20th May 2016
Chatham, Kent

fort-amherst-003

Fort Amherst is one of our favourite venues as there is never a dull moment during the event. It is also one of the spookiest as long tunnels and underground rooms often are.

During the séance sessions that I held we were joined by a spirit called Christopher who was aged in his late 30s and an Army Sergeant from the Second World War era.

Whilst Christopher was able to push and manipulate people we also heard a lot of strange noises, doors banging and footsteps. This was all very odd as there wasn’t a slight breeze outside let alone a strong wind to slam a door.

During the final séance session many of the group, including me had numb or tingling toes. What this meant or what it was supposed to mean is unknown, maybe we’ll find out on a return visit to Fort Amherst later this year.

This was another excellent ghost hunt at the Fort with lots of paranormal activity felt and experienced by the guests.

Explosion Museum – 14th May 2016 – Steve

Explosion Museum ghost hunt 14th May 2016
Gosport, Hampshire

explosion-museum-1

As a team we love visiting this venue, because we have so much space and buildings for us and our guests to investigate, because we have not used all the buildings for all the activities that we undertake yet.

Being that the group was a small group (which is normal in the summer months) we didn’t split the group and instead each team member held their session with everyone present.

The first session was my séance session, which I chose to hold in a building that I have used before; C Mag, an old magazine room (for storing explosives).

A male spirit by the name of Roger joined us, he was aged in his late 30s or early 40s and an older gent aged in his late 50s who was a Navy Officer and in uniform.

Both these spirits were able to push people and manipulate us with a little force, one guest spent most of the session being pushed forwards or pulled backwards. At one point just about everyone had been pushed to the floor.

The second session was a joint table tilting and Ouija board session. Both activities took a while before anything useful was encountered and the table tilting eventually got going after a lot of encouragement. There is an excerpt of this at https://youtu.be/a5SoskKkpn0

On the Ouija board we eventually had some contact with a slave or a person who was forced to work and a young boy called Timothy who was 15 or 16 years old and also working at Priddy’s Hard. (now the site of the Explosion Museum)

The third session we let the guests loose with our gadgets in the old Admin building, this is a popular building for this activity as the building is big enough to allow the guests to roam from room to room and they may encounter different spirits in different parts of the building.

The fourth session was a Human Pendulum session in the Grand Magazine where guests were able to ask spirit questions and feel the spirit move them.

After this session all guests were able to explore the buildings and carry out their own ghost hunt. During this time guests could borrow our ghost hunting equipment.

This was another excellent ghost hunt with some good personal paranormal evidence encountered by the guests in various parts of the site using a whole manner of different activities. We look forward to our return in August.

True Crime Museum – 4th June 2016 – Steve

Tuesday, June 7th, 2016

True Crime Museum ghost hunt 4th June 2016
Hastings, East Sussex

true-crime-museum

The True Crime Museum is an odd place, hence why we hold ghost hunts here, but our first event in February didn’t reveal anything unusual or menacing. This time though, is a different story.

This was in many ways, one of the strangest ghost hunts that I have ever undertaken. There were only a few guests, which may explain why it happened but the team were all affected by spirit at one point or another. Some of us were only affected once in a minor way, whilst others were affected all night.

We started the ghost hunt with a séance in the aptly named “Death Chamber”, the idea behind this was to build the energy that would last throughout the rest of the evening.

It all started well, with two brother spirits who joined us, starting to move guests by their hands and arms and as happened on our previous visit in February, the spirits tried to pull people backwards over the railings. The two male energies were Royal Mail post men from the year 1900, only one gave his name as David Webb.

Sue (team) was picking up on a smell of horses and was telling us about what she was sensing, when she announced that she wasn’t feeling right. So I made my way over to remove her from the circle. After she came out she explained that she became dizzy and didn’t feel right. Emma (guest) during this time also had dropped her head and was unresponsive to us calling her name. As Sue and myself made our way to Emma, she collapsed on the floor. I decided that closing the séance circle was the safest thing to do.

When then took a break so that those that were affected could recover.

After a tea break we continued with a table tilting session which was something sporadic, one minute the table was walking and moving, next it was stationary followed by some more movement. At one point this table was walking between the two rooms (the two rooms were linked by a small tunnel) which was interesting in itself.

After a short break we handed out equipment to the guests (and instructed them on how to use them) and let them wander around the museum, communicating and asking questions of the spirit.

I had just walked back into another room to collect another piece of kit, when Louise (team) came out of the “Death Chamber” and looked at me in an odd way, it was more of a surprised look. When I spoke to Louise and asked if she was alright it became clear that she wasn’t as her eyes were glazed over and she was unresponsive. It was necessary that Louise should exit the venue as the spirit that had more control over her than she did herself. It took three of us to remove her from the Museum and she was kicking and fighting with us that she didn’t want to leave, although gave no reason as to why.

After she was outside she couldn’t remember anything that had happened and only remembered going into the “Death Chamber” with a KII (EMF Meter).

As I walked back into the Museum on my own I could feel a malicious spirit energy present, although didn’t pay much attention to him as I was heading to see how the guests were getting on. At this time, I felt disorientated, dizzy and lost.  As I stood there I was aware of these feelings but unable to do much about it and then whatever had stopped me, had gone away and I was able to move again, although I had no idea what I was doing or going to do, so I returned to the base room.

Jason (team) also felt a sensation of being confused and disorientated once in the “Death Chamber” during the séance and at other times throughout the evening.

Guests continued to communicate with spirit and had a long conversation with a spirit using a Ouija board which revealed truths about what had happened on the night. Unfortunately, I wasn’t present so don’t know the full details. Louise during this time was still recovering as she felt weak.

Once we left the venue everyone felt OK, albeit tired.

All in all, this was a very unusual ghost hunt with some strange activity felt by various people including guests and team.

We look forward to returning in July

Rye Castle – 23rd April 2016 – Steve

Rye Castle ghost hunt 23rd April 2016
Rye, East Sussex

rye_castle

Rye Castle is a small venue which is why there are only a small amount of guests allowed for the ghost hunt, however on this evening a number of guests failed to turn up so the group was smaller than previous ghost hunts. This meant that the ghost hunt was more intimate for those who were present and the personal evidence that these guests encountered was brilliant.

We kept all the guests together since the group was about half the size it should have been and held three sessions.

The first session was a tech and gadget session in the main Keep where the guests we able to get basic yes and no answers to their questions as well as experiencing strange energy spikes on our meters.

The second session was a table tilting session in which we had some movement on the table and the third session was a séance session where we were joined by a male spirit aged in his 50s from the 1890s. He was called Anthony Dwight and he was a well-dressed gentlemen wearing a smart pin striped suit and had a pocket watch.

Anthony was able to move the majority of the guests by their arms and pull various people by their arms to the floor, which was all very amusing to us.

During the free session (when guests can venture off on their own) guests were coming back to us in the base room after being upstairs in the Keep or in the Woman’s Tower and reporting that something unusual happened to them. On all occasions they had thought there was someone else in the room with them, when in fact they had all been on their own (in pairs). One pair of guests reported that first they thought someone spoke to the them and then they heard the “woosh” of a lady’s dress as it passed them by.

All in all, a very interesting ghost hunt and we look forward to our return in September 2016.

Landguard Fort – 9th April 2016 – Steve

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 9th April 2016
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

I forget how many times that we have investigated this fort however we enjoy every one as the activity and the experience is different every time. There are many rooms here, which I still haven’t investigated or even entered.

For all my sessions on this occasion I held them in the guardhouse at the entrance of the fort.

We were joined by a spirit called George who was a Second World War soldier at the fort but lived through the war years and passed away at the age of 55. Plus, there was an older spirit from 1830s, also a Soldier in the Army and held the rank of Major. This spirit did not give his name.

In all sessions the spirit was able to move and manipulate people and in many cases pushed people to the floor and held some of them on the floor, unable to get up on their own.

This was all very amusing which seem to heighten the activity and the experience of the guests with more people being manipulated as time wore on.

The videos of the séance sessions can be watched at: –

This was another excellent ghost hunt at the fort with many people experiencing paranormal activity and having their own paranormal evidence in the free session. We look forward to our return in October 2016.

Oliver Cromwell’s House – 2nd April 2016 – Steve

Oliver Cromwell’s House 2nd April 2016
Ely, Cambridgeshire

DSC_0040

Having visited this haunted house before we were looking forward to another visit to see if similar activity occurred.

All of my séance sessions were held in the study and the bedroom.

We were joined firstly by a spirit called Antony who was in his 40s and from 1850s era. In most sessions Antony was able to move and manipulate people and pull them to the floor as well as move the bedclothes. Those who saw the bedclothes move were genuinely surprised, although it only happened in the first session. Other sessions people were just pushed and moved and had their arms lifted. Although in the third session people were pushed towards the door.

In the study we met a spirit called Thomas who at one time lived in the house, around 1890 and a more modern spirit from 1986 who passed away just outside the house as he was involved in a motorcycle crash.

Some of the guests who sat in the chair in one corner of the room felt uneasy, whilst others who stood in another corner became more uneasy with time. Many people in all groups felt dizzy or had headaches throughout these sessions which was unexplainable.

This was an excellent ghost hunt with many people in the free session experimenting with scrying in an upstairs room and getting some amazing personal evidence.

We look forward to returning in 2017.

Sandford Mill – 5th March 2016 – Steve

Sandford Mill ghost hunt 5th March 2016
Chelmsford, Essex

sandford-mill-2

After visiting this museum last year, we were keen to visit again to see if the activity that was experienced could occur again. We were not disappointed!

This time I chose the barn for all my séance sessions as it contained some more museum exhibits and the energy felt good.

There was a male spirit called Patrick in the barn with us. He was 34 years old and from the English Civil War era, he passed from being shot in the head.

The first group experienced lots of arm movement and pushing and pulling backwards, as did the second group, although we were also joined by another male spirit called Brian who lived near to the museum in mid 1750s. He told me that he had murdered children by drowning them in the river. The third group also felt the arm movement and gentle swaying of the first group but it was not as energetic.

This was another excellent ghost hunt with the majority of the guests experiencing some form of paranormal activity throughout of sessions. We look forward to returning later in 2016.

Old Beneficiary School – 20th February 2016 – Steve

Old Beneficiary School ghost hunt 20th February 2016
Portsmouth, Hampshire

groundlings-theatre

This is an unusual building as we often have activity but not in relation to the building or its past use. This particular evening was no different. I was in the main theatre, the upstairs room for all my sessions.

The first group were joined by a Man who was reluctant to say anything, he wore a schoolboy type cap and was aged roughly in his early 30s. He seemed to be dressed in clothing associated with a summer party and he gave me the impression that he had something to do with importing fine spices into the country. There was also a woman called Grace who said that she washed the floors when this building was a school in 1890s. When we were near the back of the room there was a spirit here called Daniel who was a recent spirit, someone who had passed away recently, although he gave the year as 2006 and he took his own life in sad circumstances. He said he lived locally.

During the séance we experienced lots of movement, including arm movement, footfalls, noises and squeaks that could not be explained.

The second group once again experienced some movement in the séance, although not as much as the first group. Although we did experience some of the strange noises and footfalls like the first group.

The third group didn’t experience any movement at all, nor did we hear any odd noises.

We look forward to returning later in the year

Landguard Fort – 19th December 2015 – Steve

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 19th December 2015
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

This was our last ghost hunt of the year and we were hopeful that it was going to be a good event, we were not disappointed.

I chose one of the magazine rooms for my séances. These room often have spirit who want to be noticed or what to let people know that they are present.

The first group had loads of paranormal activity with people’s arm being moved on command and sometimes at the will of the spirits. People were also forced and pushed to the floor and unable to get up.

The spirit responsible for this was a Second World War Army soldier called Toby approximately 24 years old. There were also two Ladies present from the same era who were Radio Operators, although the ladies were in the Navy.

The second group to the same area also have lots of paranormal activity with people being moved quickly and being shoved across the room as well as lots of arm movements.

Some of the guests including myself at times felt dizzy and disorientated but this was not caused by any movement.

This was an excellent ghost hunt and we look forward to returning in 2016. All the guests had some form a paranormal activity experience in either of the sessions that we held.
