Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt 8th March 2013
Pluckley, Kent

The day time before the event, there was some truly horrendous weather, with heavy rain throughout most of Kent so when heading off to Pluckley (in the rain) I wasn’t expecting it to stop. However once in the woods there was no rain, just a lot of mud, one of the worst I have experienced in Pluckley. It was also a very busy car park with swathes of people leaving or arriving all of them wearing all the wrong footwear for the conditions. As we headed into the woods to a particular area that I have found to be very active a group of teenagers were trying to follow us, however we were all dressed for the occasion they, were not and after they lost sight of us we could hear them trying to find their way out of the woods as several of them had fallen over into the mud. After 10 minutes we could no longer hear their voices.

The first area, which is where I normally start, was as usual very active with high levels of KII EMF activity seen on our KII meters plus high levels on our communication devices. There was a female energy present who answered some of the guests questions and then abruptly left.

I held a séance at this location and some arm movements were felt by the guests, some on command which progressed into pushing and pulling people backwards gently and then on to swaying and rocking people en mass left and right.

One guest felt a touch from behind her whilst we were holding the séance which was unusual because we were all holding hands for the séance and there were no trees or plants anywhere near where we were standing.

The spirit energy responsible for these movements is a spirit energy which I often see on this pathway, his name is Peter and he was a victim of a motorcycle crash in 1960s. There was also an older gent looking on, he was approximately in his 50s and spent most of the time laughing at what Peter had achieved.

The second session further along the path I set up my laser grid mainly because there was a light fog hanging in the woods and this effect looks so much better with fog although no one saw anything unusual although at the same time I turned on the spirit box (a device that scan backwards through the FM radio stations at 100ms) and several words were heard although nothing definite in answer to our questions. Two guests however saw some very low level red lights in the near distance and whilst we could not rule out that this could have been other people we heard no footfalls or any other noise nor any torch lights.

The third session I tried to hold another séance, there were a husband and wife spirit energies present, he was called Tommy (Tom) both aged in their late 30s or early 40s, he was a cow farmer and had rather large hands. The resulting séance there were some strange arm movements but unfortunately most of the movement was focussed at me, which was a shame as the rest of the guests would have liked to have felt these strange movements.

All in all another enjoyable ghost hunt where many guests felt some unusual paranormal activity and saw some unusual light anomalies. No EVPs (ghost voice) experiments were undertaken due to the earlier rain which was still falling from the trees.

Fort Borstal ghost hunt – 1-3-2013

Tuesday, March 26th, 2013

Fort Borstal ghost hunt 1st March 2013
Rochester, Kent

Once again the team were just as excited as the guests to return to Fort Borstal for the first of our visits to this magnificent fort in March, it was also the first of four Forts for the month of March.

This was our third visit this year and one thing that we have started to notice is that activity here happens to people in small groups of four or five people, any more than that and the activity is lessened.

As usual my area for the night was the counterscarp galleries since the majority of the team don’t like the staircase (200+ steps)

The first group we started in the left hand side of the galleries and almost immediately there were high levels of KII activity as well as some electronic communication. Various spirits were present including a couple of sergeants from The Second World War, a lady and a child.

Some guests felt touches on their legs and there was a strange breeze in the tunnels which was very unusual because there are no holes or gaps to the outside and once the door is closed (which it was) there should be no airflow within the complex.

Many guests and I also heard strange mumbling sounds and many guests were extremely jumpy in the dark, so much so that they didn’t want to do a séance, as that would have meant standing in the dark.

The second group to this area we started a séance almost immediately as I could see that the spirit were eager to show the guests what they could do. The spirit was called Captain Daniel, he looked to be a First World War soldier but he didn’t actually tell me.

Initially this started with lots of arm movement which then slowly progressed onto people hands being pushed into other people and poking them in the stomach. From this point as the spirit got more used to moving people he started to push people forwards and pull them backwards. Darren (guest) who was standing to my left felt that he was being held in place, as if someone was stood behind him, stopping him from moving. Darren felt this as well and kept looking behind him during the séance.

At the end of this session I held an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment. There were many responses but the experts (independent Sound Engineers) and I couldn’t agree on the words being spoken, some of this was due to noise of the guests shuffling their feet or putting their hands in their pockets during the recording. The best one from this session can be heard at:-

http://youtu.be/HDePzen8ZF0

After this experiment I let the guests wander throughout all the galleries with some of our electronic equipment. High levels of EMF energy (Electromagnetic Fields) were picked up on our KII meters as well as some levels of electronic communication.

The third group to the counterscarp galleries had the most activity, as we went straight into a séance and the same spirit (Captain Daniel) was present and eager to demonstrate his presence to the guests. Arm movement started immediately and progressed around the circle until just about everyone had their arms moved and then Daniel moved onto pushing guests forwards and pulling them back as well as swaying them from side to side. Some guests were pulled by their hands to the ground. When asking for certain people to be moved (pushed or pulled) this usually happened on command until the majority of guests had been manipulated in some way.

At the end of this session I held another EVP experiment, once again there were lots of responses but there was too much background noise (from people) that hampered the technical analysis, however the best ones can be heard at:-

http://youtu.be/DMDCz0vxbpU

http://youtu.be/doino0rTRKA

Once again the guests were free to wander throughout the rest of galleries.

The rest of the night the guests were allowed to wander freely around the Fort to visit areas or activities they enjoyed the first time around with our equipment and to hold their own ghost hunt or do a solo vigil.

Once again the guests thoroughly enjoyed their ghost hunt with us and many had some very unusual paranormal experiences.

Shire Hall ghost hunt – 23-2-2013

Tuesday, March 26th, 2013

Shire Hall ghost hunt 23rd February 2013
Hereford, Herefordshire

This venue is one of the larger venues that we investigate with two court rooms, cells (linked to the court rooms), ancillary court related rooms, a concert hall and backstage rooms, a library and an extensive basement and as ever we and our guests were free to wander throughout the building.

I had already decided that “my area” for the first part of the night was going to be the library as I have always been interested in investigating one, possibly since the first Ghost Busters film of 1984.

After starting a séance in part of the library we were joined quite quickly by two male spirits; Terrance and Nigel who were dressed like 1970s security men, light blue shirts and black trousers and black/navy ties, both were in their late 50s. Nigel was quite portly although a very happy sort of person. There was also a female spirit present called Fiona who was from the Victorian era by her dress, she was in her early 20s.

The séance started with lots of arm movement which gradually progressed into people being pushed and pulled backwards. Jarred (guest) and myself had our arms pulled to the floor and our arms were stroking Jarred’s girlfriend against our will.

Many guests heard footfalls, whispering and talking, which were not from the other group as they were effectively two floors above us. The pushing and arm movement continued until I called and end to the séance and just as I said that some book on the shelf behind me fell over, which was strange as I tried to recreate this because my belt may have touched the bookshelf but the shelf that the books were on were much higher and even when I purposely knocked into the bookcase the books did not fall over.

I then let the guests wander around the darkened library with our electronic equipment and suggested that they enter the strong room which the staff have reported strange occurrences when on their own.

The second group to the library I started the séance in another part of the library away from the book shelves and once again many guests arms were being manipulated by the spirit energies Nigel & Terrance who were still present. Angie (guest) was very receptive to this and the spirit energies moved her in all sorts of ways but especially liked to push her and pull her back when she was least expecting it.

During a moment when several people’s arms were being moved we all heard a reasonably loud knock, Carl (team member) was filming at the time and a book had fallen off the shelves and fell on his foot which made him a bit jumpy!

Once again after the séance came to an end the guests wandered around the library with our equipment.

Whilst all the guests were off with other team members doing table tilting and other experiments myself Carl & Kym (team members) visited Court 1 and 2. In Court 1 we heard some tapping in response to our tapping sounds. In Court 2 Carl and myself could smell sweet cigar smoke and whilst Carl was sitting in the defendant box he had his leg touched and squeezed.

Carl and I also visited the Cells when they were clear of guests as we wanted to do some EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiments. Carl who was in the large cell at the end of the corridor said that he felt dizzy so we started to do some EVP recordings. The best response can be heard at:-

http://youtu.be/OuZiY67l5cw

After locating the guests some of them wanted to try scrying, so I escorted them down to the cells to try this experiment, as this was the darkest and quietest area. Most people saw their face change and some of those who were watching could see if before the person looking. There were a mixture of male and female spirit energies who superimposed their faces onto the guests.

Towards the end of the evening I wandered into Court 2 with some guests thinking it was empty but in fact there were several team members in the room trying to do an EVP session. As we were about to leave the room we all heard a loud thud, I had initially thought a guest had knocked over a glass onto the carpet, but as I made my way to see what had fallen over I noticed what looked like a stone on the floor. However when I picked it up, it wasn’t a stone but plaster and about 1 inch (2.5cm) in diameter. (see below)

Plaster thrown

Since it wasn’t really that dark in Court 2 because the street lighting bled into the room from outside everyone could quite easily see and no one could have thrown this object as they would have been seen. (There were approximately 15 people in the room, all spread out) The plaster had fallen into the jury box where the majority of the guests were standing.

When showing the security guard he said that the plaster was basement plaster as that was the only area of the building that was unpainted. How this plaster came to make a noise as it fell into this area remains a mystery, we were filming at the time but the camera was not pointing in that direction at the time of this incident.

This was a very enjoyable ghost hunt and one in which the guests had a range of paranormal incidents happen to them. We cannot wait to return later in 2013.

Fort Borstal private ghost hunt – 2-2-2013

Thursday, February 28th, 2013

Fort Borstal private ghost hunt 2nd February 2013
Rochester, Kent

This was a special ghost hunt for a Hen party as they wanted something scarier than a hotel, they couldn’t have picked a better location as the very nature of this Fort is meant to be hidden and the owners maintain that.

The best evidence to be had at this location is when there are very few people in a particular part, but because this group wanted to stay together (to start with) we all headed off to the old Officer’s Mess area.

After we gave the majority of the guests some of our kit to enable them to detect the spirit energies that were present, whilst I and Carl (a colleague) filmed them we noticed that any small amount of noise made the guests a bit jumpy, bearing in mind of course that we were in virtual darkness.

There were some extremely high levels of EMF detected and shown on our KII meters and the ghost communicator devices were also busy during this time. Many of the guests were asking the usual types of questions although several times someone asked whether the spirits would like us to leave and every time the answer was “Yes”.

Other guests felt some light touches and lights were seen in the room and after a while once everyone had got used to the dark I decided to hold a séance. The spirit energies that were present; two prisoners Timothy & Jeremy from the 1880s were able to move some people’s arms and also gently push some people, not to the point of falling over, but enough for them to know that it wasn’t them losing their balance.

After a short break the guests all went off with the other two members of my team; Marc & Jo to use Ouija boards and to do some table tilting whilst Carl & myself went off to a separate area to do some EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiments and to test some new hearing enhancement kit.

Once the guests came back from this session we then let them decide what they wanted to do & where they wanted to go. Most of the guests wanted to go to the counterscarp galleries as this was the only area in which they hadn’t visited during the first two sessions, so the whole group was split into two groups and I took the first group to the galleries.

As soon as we arrived in the area and after the guests wandered throughout the galleries I decided the best way the guests could experience spirit activity was to hold a séance. Captain Daniel Bedford was the spirit energy that was keen to demonstrate his abilities. He was about 6’3” in his late 20s and of a slim build. He seemed to be a very strict man and angry that he had passed away during the First World War, he considered himself too young.

Throughout the séance Daniel was able to manipulate the guests’ arms as well as push them forward and pull them backwards. He was also able to twist people and pull them down onto the floor. Some guests tried to resist this movement but the spirit energy was far greater than their strength and eventually all guests were moved, some pinned against a wall.

At the end of this séance I conducted an EVP experiment the best results can be heard at:-
http://youtu.be/prEBSLiGhzo
http://youtu.be/4oqhNyUcmXg
http://youtu.be/5fdvZiJM_nQ

The second group to this area were also treated to some unusual arm movement by Daniel although this time and with these guests many felt pains in their knees and this was before any pushing and pulling had started. Many guests in this group were also swayed and twisted and eventually the same types of movements were felt by this group as well and even though there were more people in this group than the first once again many people were pushing against a wall, resisting the force turned out to be futile as the spirit energy just wanted us against a wall, once we were moved to the wall the pressure felt in peoples arms and legs just dissipated away.

Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt and one which everyone present are unlikely to forget as this was one of the most physical ghost hunts at Fort Borstal that we have undertaken.

Groundlings Theatre ghost hunt – 26-1-2013

Wednesday, February 13th, 2013

Groundlings Theatre ghost hunt 26th January 2013
Portsmouth, Hampshire

This was our second theatre ghost hunt in two weeks. Groundlings Theatre was previously a school and we were hoping to have some evidence from this period of time. However with the Theatre being so active with spirits, from all periods of time, we were unsure what to expect.

I had commandeered the costume wardrobe room for all of my sessions as this was a very interesting room and one which I quite liked on my initial visit, this room had atmosphere. The other members of my team had all of the upstairs rooms including the main part of the theatre.

The first session was a little slow to start but a female spirit energy called Annabelle who was 23 years old joined us. She was quite tall at 5’11” and slim, wearing a dress that covered her from neck to boots, her boots were brown leather and she had dark hair. She was a little shy and wouldn’t tell me how she passed, which is an indication that it probably wasn’t pleasant. The year she gave me was 1908.

We started our séance after some brief but very positive electronic communication I asked for Annabelle to move the guests’ arms. After a while Annabelle started with me and slowly people around the circle all felt their arms go numb or a strange pins & needle sensation just before their arms slowly raised. Once people’s arms had risen to a sufficient height I then asked one of them to ask in their heads which way Annabelle should move their arms with a simple choice of up, down, left or right. Every time someone asked Annabelle would reciprocate and move their arms accordingly.

After everyone had experienced this, I asked for Annabelle to give all the guests a little push or to pull them back and once again many guests (not everyone though) felt a strange unbalancing sensation, especially Jim (Theatre Management) and just as we had started to get some very good movement and the guests had become less nervous and excited by what Annabelle was able to achieve we had to stop, because I had told the other members of my team a time, but I had no idea that this time had come and gone.

The second group to the wardrobe room I started immediately with a séance as I wanted those guests to experience what the first group had.

Once again Annabelle joined us and she proceeded to move the guests’ arms in much the same fashion as the first group, although this time the movements were quicker and more defined as if Annabelle had figured out how to move us more efficiently. Once the majority of people had experienced arm movement, I then asked for her to move people and once again she obliged, this time however more people felt definite movements and some of the guests were now asking for different people to be moved. Annabelle carried out their instructions every time.

At the end of this séance session, the guests wandered around the various costumes with some of our electronic equipment. I noticed another spirit energy had wandered in, his name was George and his was approximately 55 years old. George had turned up with his horse called Teddy, presumably after Theodore Roosevelt (USA President who gave his name to the Teddy bear). George smoked a pipe and was wearing a white shirt with dots and flowers and corduroy trousers. His hair was dark, possibly black and he had what I would call busy sideburns. He had no relation to the theatre or the building in general as he was just passing. Calling out to George didn’t result in anyone feeling anything so we finished the session.

The third and final group to the wardrobe room I started with a séance immediately. Once again Annabelle was still present and willingly she moved the majority of the guests’ arms on demand. Robyn (Guest who was on my left) asked Annabelle to move our arms in all sorts of strange positions and even to lunge at people and grab a scarf off another guest, to touch the floor and to swing our arms really fast. Annabelle completed all of these requests which she found (as did we) rather amusing. However when I asked Annabelle to try to move people like previous sessions, she found this more difficult, although some people were being moved and swayed but the movements seemed to be harder or that Annabelle required more energy than we were able to give her. I decided that since the movements were now getting slower and involved less people that we should stop the session.

After we had completed three controlled sessions, we then let the guests roam throughout the building with our equipment so that they could do their own vigils or participate in activities that they enjoyed the first time around. Many guests used this opportunity to use Ouija boards or to visit areas and rooms on their own.

Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt with an unprecedented level of activity experienced by the guests. We had trigger objects being moved by spirits, ghost voices recorded and various unexplained phenomena however nothing of interest was recorded on our seven cameras that we had set up throughout the building. The ghost voices are still being analysed and will be posted on our website as soon as possible.

Bicknor Woods ghost hunt – 18-1-2013

Wednesday, February 6th, 2013

Bicknor Woods 18th January 2013
Bicknor, Kent

This was quite interesting just getting into the woods, since the first snow of the year had fallen the night before and had now turned to ice, so instead of walking, we slid down the hill onto the footpath.

Once in the woods there was a strange quietness, just the sound of a few birds taking flight that we disturbed whilst walking on the path. There was also some light snowfall, but nothing that would hinder or stop the ghost hunt.

Our first location I gave the majority of the guests some KII meters and a ghost communicator, the levels of KII were extremely high although this came in waves. Electronic communication was also high as a young male energy joined us, although he would not tell us his age, although to me he seemed to be in his late teens.

Various strange noises we heard in the woods, especially the sound of someone approaching as we could hear snapping twigs, as if someone was walking towards us, but considering our eyes had adjusted to the dark we could see if anyone was approaching.

Some guests took photos and one photo that should have been of a tree and a fence post had another vertical line in the photo which looked like another tree, however the object didn’t go all the way to the ground, whether this was snow is uncertain as a flash from a camera fires at 1/60th of a second, which would have meant that the object was travelling in excess of 12 feet per second!

At the second location a little further along the path another male energy made himself know to me. He was called Chris and was approximately 20 years old. Once again there were lots of high KII spike and some communication via the equipment.

The third location I started to use my Sprit Box (a device that scans the FM radio frequencies at 100ms in reverse). After asking that the spirit say one of our names or tell us the day of the week we heard “back” and “have it” but no names, unfortunately there was a lot of interference which I can only assume was related to the atmospheric low pressure. However many people reported seeing various shadows and  we all heard quite a lot of strange noises, some sounded like something heavy being dropped. Also some strange mists were seen and photographed.

At the fourth location which was back on the main path, we diverted to look at a tree that could have been easily used to hang people, as it had a branch at just about the right height. During the séance we were joined by Chris (the spirit from earlier) and an older gentleman in his 50s. Both these spirits were able to move the guests arms and push and pull some of the guests. Some people felt a swaying sensation (which is common for these woods) and a twisting sensation. Also during the séance we heard a lot of heavy sounds, similar to branches falling to the ground, but given there was no wind I cannot see any reason for branches to suddenly drop off the trees all around us.

At the end of the séance I conducted an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment. There were several clear responses, which can be heard at:-

Fort Borstal ghost hunt – 12-1-2013

Thursday, January 24th, 2013

Fort Borstal ghost hunt 12th January 2013

Rochester, Kent

As with any of the Forts that we investigate, we always look forward to each event as paranormal activity usually happens in a surprising manner and since Fort Borstal is relatively new to us (our first event was October 2012) we are still looking for the “gems” of the Fort.

As usual I took the area that few of my team wanted to go to, mainly due to the wonderful [sic] staircase, all 200 steps of it!

The first group started in the left-hand counterscarp gallery and we were joined by a prisoner who was in his early 20s, six foot tall and had a very stocky build. This spirit who didn’t give his name was however very happy to talk to the guests via our electronic equipment, although he told me that he was at the Fort in 1885, which meant that it is likely that he was one of the prisoners who built the Fort. He also answered questions posed by the guests and one of the questions was whether he was stuck here, to which he answered “Yes”. I asked if he wanted to leave and needed help to do so, but he did not confirm, in fact he seemed to be undecided on this.

During the séance this spirit energy was able to move some of the guests arms and also gently push the guests. The arm movements however were limited to just one half of the circle. There was also a female spirit energy present although she was watching us and didn’t want to talk to anyone.

Throughout the whole session there were high levels of EMF (Electromagnetic Fields) as shown on our KII meters and high level of electronic communication. Many guests also felt cold spots and drafts, even though this is a sealed space with the only access to the outside from the entrance that we had walked down and once the door is closed no sounds or air movement should affect us.

The second group to the same area felt the presence of the same prisoner energy and another male spirit who also didn’t want to give his name. Once again during the séance there was some minor arm movement and several guests including me felt items of clothing being touched or moved. One guest said that she felt a “proper” poke in her back.

Due to the fact that the level of activity was low, the group spilt up with half of the guests venturing down to the other end which is also another counterscarp gallery which looks out over the other side of the dry moat. They held a séance here as well and also had some light arm movement, but one guest felt some touches by spirit on his arm which scared him and the séance circle was broken.

After these two controlled sessions, like the majority of our ghost hunts, we then let the guests roam and go to whichever area they would like to do their own ghost hunting. Many of the guests opted for The Officer’s Mess area, as this area was not used during the controlled sessions.

Four guests however asked me if I would join them back in the counterscarp galleries as they wanted to get a similar level of activity they experienced the first time. On enetering the area for the third time I noticed that the atmosphere felt different, a good different. After the guests wandered around the right-hand side gallery and made their way to the left-hand, I set up my laser grid in one of the tunnels and although nothing interesting was seen, it did allow me to take some interesting photos. I then joined the group and suggested that we hold a séance as I could see spirit energies wanting to “play”.

As soon as we started the séance a male spirit energy called David joined us, he was a high ranking Officer in the British Army from the Second World War era and he had 3 pips on his shoulder, which I have since found out means that he was a Captain. He was in his 50s and about 5’8” in height. He sported a full beard which was “Salt & Pepper” in colour and he wore round rimmed spectacles. David was very polite but also very stern, but when I asked whether he would move the guests he immediately said to be “Fine” and then everyone felt their arms being moved along with lots of swaying and pushing, followed by lots of twisting sensations and people being pushed into other people.

Scott (guest) was also able to ask questions in his head and use us as pendulums for yes and no answers, all of which were answered correctly according to Scott.

At the end of this session I held an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment and played it back immediately as I thought I heard some answers to the questions posed by guests, however the biggest surprise was the question that I asked, everyone could hear the answer when the recording was playing, without any enhancement, which is quite rare.

The EVP can be heard at http://youtu.be/RpVS3t_x6LE

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the ghost hunt with many people getting their own paranormal experiences, many guests experienced the most activity when they were in small groups of just 4-5 people.

Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt – 16-12-2012

Tuesday, January 15th, 2013

Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt 16th December 2012
Pluckley, Kent

The weather forecast for this evening was mixed, with some rain due in the early part of the night but more importantly that when we were due to be in the woods no rain was forecast. This was rather important because the pathways at this time of year are very muddy, let alone with the extra water from rain.

I started the ghost hunt in my usual place, as it is a very active area and guests always feel something on this path, sometimes they also see paranormal occurrences and take some very interesting photos.

We were joined by Philip a male spirit energy who passed away locally in a motorcycle accident, this particular spirit energy I have seen on a number of occasions. There was also a female spirit energy although she seemed shy and didn’t want to communicate with me. However there was lots of activity on our KII meters and on our communication equipment.

During the séance some people wanted to remain outside the circle, which was not a problem although this did not stop the spirit energies affecting them.

Several of the guests in the séance circle felt spirit move their arms and push them gently.

After I finished the séance, Perry (guest) wanted to be pushed as he was being affected throughout the séance even though he wasn’t in the circle. I placed my hand lightly on his shoulder and the spirit energies pushed and pulled him, which he found surprising.

Our second location (after venturing through more mud) we had lots more communication via our electronic equipment and lots of activity on our KII meters.

I set up the laser grid, but nothing was seen in this. I also turned on my SB7 (a spirit box, which scans the FM radio stations in reverse at 100ms) and we heard the name “Philip” plus “Hi”, “Hello” and some other names, none of which were the names of people present (which is what I asked for).

Unfortunately this session was then brought to an abrupt halt as it started to rain and we started to make our way toward the cars, just in case the rain didn’t pass then we would be nearer the cars than stuck in the woods, which weren’t offering much protection from the elements.

Fortunately by the time we had walked onto what is my final area of the woods the rain had stopped and we could continue with the ghost hunt. Once again there were lots of activity on our KII meters and lots more communication on the electronic equipment.

I noticed that we were being watched by a strict female energy, she was aged in her late 40s and gave me the impression of being a school mistress. Perry was drawn to a particular area of the woods, so we all followed.

Several guests took some photos in this location because it felt odd to them, to me it felt very active. Many of the guests had some very interesting mist photos at this point as well as some “weirdness” to them. One guest said that the spirits name was Geoffrey, (which it was and the electronic communication equipment confirmed it) but the fact that she had got it right she found scary. Perry also felt a physical touch on his shoulder and at first thought it was me, but when he turned his torch on, he could see that I was nowhere near him and neither was anyone else.

At this time I conducted an EVP (electronic voice phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment and there were many responses but only one that is clear to understand. This can be heard at:-

http://youtu.be/geIXF5dMhi4

As we were walking out of the woodland, some guests heard the sound of a metallic clink, which they described as being similar to the sound a blacksmith would make when hammering out horse shoes.

This was a good ghost hunt with quite a lot of physical and auditory paranormal activity witnessed by the guests and fortunately the weather did not hamper the ghost hunt.

Bicknor Woods – 2-12-2012

Bicknor Woods ghost hunt 2nd December 2012
Bicknor, Kent

Bicknor Woods is one of those locations that always gets the adrenaline going, it is a strange woods, it is also the only woods where I would not venture on my own after dark.

Our first session we were joined by a male spirit energy by the name of Timothy who was in his 60s and a female energy who was 33 years old and from the early 1800s.

Both energies were able to communicate via our electronic equipment and their respective energies also showed up on our KII meters.

Whilst we were asking questions and getting responses several guests and I heard footfalls near to us, some admittedly sounded like small animals, but some sounded a lot heavier and more like the sound a person would make.

After a while I decided that the best way for the guests to really sense the spirit energies was to hold a séance and Timothy was happy to oblige. He started to move the hands of the majority of the guests and just as the guests got used to this strange sensation, Timothy then changed tactics and started to push people forwards and backwards. Many of the guests found this slightly odd at first and then really amazing as they were trying (unsuccessfully) to fight this and no matter what any guest did to stop themselves moving, Timothy just pushed them harder.

After just about everyone had been moved Timothy’s energy seemed to dissipate very quickly and therefore we stopped the séance. However as I was talking to some guests who had really enjoyed the pushing and pulling and were trying to explain how they were trying to resist we heard more footfalls behind us, which was exactly the direction that we were about to walk.

In another part of the woods whilst using the laser grid as I could sense the spirit energies and was hoping that they would interfere with the grid so that the guests could see them.

Whilst we were standing and looking there were many unexplainable noises, many of which sounded like people approaching, although we saw no torches. Several guests also commented that they could sense spirit energies sitting around the trees.

At the same time as watching in the grid I also turned on the Spirit Box (This is a device that scans the FM radio frequencies in reverse at 100ms) in the hope that if we heard anything then we can be sure that no radio station broadcasts in this way. Although we heard several strange noises on the Spirit box, some could have been words, albeit very quiet nothing notable was heard, although a couple of guests had been touched and their jackets pulled whilst we were listening and watching.

Unfortunately nothing really happened at this location, but since all the guests were now feeling the cold we started to walk back.

Also due to the coldness no EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiments were undertaken because the cold had drained the batteries on my recorder. Which was a shame because in these woods we usually get some great EVPs.

Once again an enjoyable ghost hunt which gave the majority of the guests some physical spiritual movement which they enjoyed.

Nothe Fort Ghost Hunt – 24-11-2012

Tuesday, December 18th, 2012

Nothe Fort ghost hunt 24th November 2012
Weymouth, Dorset

This was the first ghost hunt for Ghost Hunt Events at this location and we certainly got some excellent evidence.

The weather however on this particular evening wasn’t so pleasant, high winds being the main concern and some rain showers, although by the time we started we were just left with the high winds. For those that don’t know, this particular fort is high on the hill overlooking Weymouth harbours, so walking on the ramparts was extremely gusty.

Fortunately this fort is separated into distinct areas with doors between each section so the entire group could be in the tunnels and we could be sure that noise from one group would not disturb other groups.

I had chosen a particular area to spend the night, which included the supposedly haunted whistling corridor and all the rooms associated in this area were magazine rooms, where ammunition would have been stored, before being hoisted up to the gun emplacements on the ramparts.

The first group we started in a room where a hanging mannequin adorned the room, which nicely set the scene and being the first ghost hunt at this location I let my guests wander from room to room with some of our equipment, until I could sense a particular area where spirit activity was higher. There were brief moments of communication via our electronic equipment and in the resulting séance there were also brief moments of paranormal activity.

Whilst wandering in some of the corridors we could hear a strange rustling noise, which was odd because this is a museum and there is no rubbish or in fact anything we could attribute for this noise. Also within the same part of the building odd whistling and wind noises were heard. This was strange because whilst it was windy outside there were no openings to the outside from within this tunnel and when going through the doors (which were closed) at either end of the tunnel no-one could hear the wind from outside.

Unfortunately two of the guests had turned up in an overly jolly drunken state and whilst we thought that they would sober up being in this environment, they didn’t and thus at the end of the session the group that they were in left the Fort.

The second group I took into one of the magazine rooms, which to everyone present looked like a dull room, as it was just a whitewashed room. However as I was leaving the area with the first group I noticed a spirit energy in this room and had promised (myself) to go back to this room.

The spirit energy was called Mark, aged in his late 20s or early 30s and approximately 5’10” in height and of a slim build. He had a skinny thin looking face but wasn’t wearing anything that I could identify the period.

I immediately started a séance with the group and asked Mark to lift our arms or push people. My arms were the first to be lifted (which is quite usual) but then one by one every guests arm (with the exception of one guest) was being lifted and guests were able to ask (in their heads) which way they wanted their arms to be moved and Mark happily obliged. Mark also made a point of rubbing peoples chins with our arms, which is not dissimilar to a thinking or pondering gesture. I then asked for Mark to start to push people and once again he obliged, however this was more like swaying than pushing and the one guest that didn’t have his arms moved, wanted to feel something. I then moved around the séance circle and stood next to the guest as I was determined that everyone would feel something. After a few attempts (unsuccessfully) of trying to move our arms, Mark moved on to the pushing and this guest was pushed forwards and pulled backwards, much to his surprise. After this everyone was being pushed, pulled and swayed. Some guests were even pushed into other guests which was very amusing to everyone present.

At the end of the séance I asked all the guests to think of a question to ask Mark, the more personal the question the greater likelihood of there being an answer and these were recorded as part of our EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment.

There were quite a few responses to the questions, some were clearer than others and the best ones can be heard at:-

The third group I took to the same area as the second in the hope that Mark would be able to manipulate these guests in much the same way. Once again Mark was able to move some of the guests arms and push and pull them, but for whatever reason it wasn’t as good as what the second group had experienced. This is likely due to the fact that the third group was bigger group.

However during the séance there was much greater communication activity on our electronic equipment.

After we had held three controlled sessions the rest of the night we allowed our guests free reign of the entire fort, leaving them to go wherever they wanted and let them use our equipment. Many of the guests used this time to go to the Caponier (which is out of bounds to the public during normal opening hours), the Barbican and the ramparts (which by this time of the night wasn’t so windy).

Whilst I was on the ramparts with some guests I was describing some of the spirit energies that I could see and trying to get those energies to make themselves known to the guests. Some guests felt the energies, some guests including myself heard the sound of footsteps behind us and as we turned around expecting to see someone, we realised no one physical was there.

At one particular time I had just entered the Caponier to escort some guests to the Barbican and they had just experienced some paranormal activity (they had seen something). I was then able to describe what I could see which was a male spirit called Charles, dressed in soldiers attire from 17th Century. As I pointed out where he stood, the guests present said that was exactly where they had just seen a shadow and what alarmed them in the first place. As some guests thought they saw a face.

This was a very enjoyable and active ghost hunt. There will be reports from the two other groups, but the highlight of one of the first group sessions is that whilst in one of the Gun rooms a guest had asked for footprints, when they actually meant footsteps. However whilst they were watching a bare footprint, approximately size 7 appeared in front of them. The picture below shows what they saw.
