Fort Borstal Invitation Ghost Hunt 27th July 2013

I was in the Officers Mess for the evening and we had set up the cameras covering the corridor and three rooms, this could be viewed on a screen in one of the rooms, and was being recorded all night.  We also had the Ouija board and writing planchette in one room with the option of using blindfolds and earplugs to provide a sensory experience.

With my first group after observing the cameras for a short while, we started with the writing plancette and had movement immediately. Whilst establishing with the ghost pro who the spirit was, a female aged under 16, we heard a heavy footfall in the corridor.  The planchette continued to move, but no written message given, although it moved to the edge of the table and as one corner went over the edge of the table it started lifting up and down.  Then very quickly it stopped and we all felt the energy change.  The ghost pro confirmed we had a male spirit with us.  With no more movement on the writing planchette we tried with hands on the table and asked spirit to move the table, to which he obliged and started gently rocking the table.

Our second group was much less active, and as the guests started to look very relaxed with their fingers on their glass, possibly too relaxed, I asked spirit to wake up the guests, to which we were all surprised when we heard something loud falling on the floor.  This was one of the ghost pros, which was in Graham’s (guest) pocket.  However he was sure he had half zipped up his pocket…..

The third group wanted to start with the writing planchette, and all wearing blindfolds.  Immediately the planchette started moving around the paper but no visible message given.  As the energy felt very strong I suggested removing their fingers until just one person was left touching.  We were all amazed when the planchette didn’t stop with just one finger left.  The spirit seemed to want to play rather than write a message as the planchette was continually taken to the edge of the table and over the side, moving along the side fast when asked.  When the planchette was put back on the table and asked to moved in circles it did.  Again the guests tried removing their fingers until just one left touching, and although it stopped moving around the table/paper, the planchette started tipping up and down, very unusual, definitely a playful spirit.

Whilst four guests were doing this, one guest was holding the Ovilus III, and the following words came through; SIX (of which we replied yes there are six of us) COUNT (we replied by asked the spirit to count how many spirits were with him) FIFTEEN !!

With my fourth group we started with the writing planchette and Ouija board but no movement.  We did hear whistles in the corridor and encouraged by this we asked spirit to copy our whistles, of which we had replies.  However after a short while the whistles we were hearing changed to be more animal like and on checking we realised a bird had started replying to us.  We did hear footsteps in the corridor which sounded like someone walking through a puddle, of which there was one just inside the entrance.  We then did a séance circle in the corridor, and Matt & Karen’s  (guests) arms started moving up gently.  They took it in turns to ask spirit where to move their arms, of which spirit obliged.  One guest felt like someone pushing the backs of legs.  With no more than just gentle swaying/movement we stopped.  The guests then went back to the table and tried the Ouija board but only little movement.

Then for the last hour the guests had the opportunity to explore on their own…

Fort Borstal ghost hunt 6th July 2013
Rochester, Kent

Paranormal Investiagtors Report (Jo & Marc)

Session 1: We began our first session with a short seance involving 6 people, myself included. Some firm arm movement was felt between some of the guests, and spirit was using our arms to “push” the male guests. After about 10 minutes we had built up some energy, the group began using the Ouija table to see if Spirit would communicate. From the outset the glass did not move, so we then asked spirit to move the table. The table began to move quite strongly, but seemed to be moving towards one guest in particular consistently. I asked Julie (the guest) to change places with another around the table to see if it would remain the same. The table continued to move towards Julie even in her new position. Marc and I both found this extremely interesting. Marc then suggested trying the Ouija again. This time the glass began to move immediately, and began by spelling out the name STRIVEN. Julie seemed quite moved by this, so we asked her if it meant something to her. It is the surname of a patient she cared for at work who had been moved to another facility and had been to rumoured to have passed away. The glass then spelt out PETER, which she confirmed as his christian name and also his age, 78. Neither Marc or myself were on the table. This concluded this session.

Session 2: This session we had a total of 7 in the group, including Marc and myself. We began again with a short seance, which again saw some arm movement and pushing of the male guests. The group then had a short table tipping session with the table moving between the men in the group, Simon and Jason. After a while we all moved to the tunnel area of the capponiere, where we all began to feel slightly uneasy, particularly the women. Whilst we were standing there, we heard a noise as if something was thrown, and went on to find 2 bullets on the ground which had not been there before. We asked for spirit to throw something else, which we heard in the other room but were unable to find the object. It sounded like a stone. A little while later Charlotte (guest) was standing in the corner of the tunnel and said she felt like she needed to move her arm up and point, as if in arm movement in a seance. We asked her to go with it, and sure enough her arm began to move and finger pointed out, trembling severely. She was pointing at Marc. Just out of curiosity, I asked spirit if they could move her legs as well and to take her to where he was standing. Marc and I were then astounded, she began to move very slowly and in a very unnatural like manor towards Marc. For want of a better description, it was almost like a Zombie walk! She was completely lucid the entire time, but when she reached the wall, Charlotte became extremely emotional, so we removed her from the room and ended the session. This footage can be seen at http://youtu.be/b6FYM23wgJM

Session 3: Again we had seven in the group total. As usual we started with a short seance and had very slight arm movement. We then went on to try ouija and table tipping, both unsuccessfully. The group moved to the tunnel, where we asked one of the female guests (Nickie), to stand in the same corner where Charlotte had been stood in the previous group. She began to feel very uneasy, and was not communicating with us clearly, so we removed her from the room as she requested. We moved back into the main room and asked spirit to throw something again. On demand a stone was thrown, and when found it was still warm as if it had come from outside, it was a very warm evening (approximately 24 degrees Celsius), and freezing in the capponiere (approximately 12-14 degrees Celsius). Another object was thrown, which we unable to find. This concluded this session.

All in all, we feel there was a very angry male presence that really did not like female visitors!     Additional information:   The Ovilus III was used on all vigils with varying degrees of “intelligence” in response to some of the questions we were posing. Planchette contact was sought but to no avail. Additionally, a trigger object, a brass miniature dinner gong, was positioned in the room and spirit was requested to force the disc to move. Regrettably nothing materialised in this experiment. Numerous full spectrum photographs were taken the results of which still need to be reviewed by our experts. High pitched “noises” resembling screaming or perhaps whistling were noted during the evening and remain unexplained. Several instances of “footsteps” were also apparent though this remains inconclusive. Marc heard several low, monotone groans within the capponniere during the evening which remain unidentified and unexplained.

The breakout sessions, towards the end of the evening, proved interesting but with nothing major or tangible to report. Initial, and very brief, review of the various EVP samples has proved interesting and the data can be further analysed and considered during the forthcoming tech night when the team are all present. Female voices are evident on the EVP data which is a surprising development as I do not recall experiencing similar contact or activity such as this before at this venue?

Conclusion: an excellent night overall with some astounding and newly encountered phenomena, least of all the apparent “possession” of the young lady in the first vigil group. Kurt, the ever present “contact” made an appearance (not literally I might add) during the several and various Ouija sessions and on this occasion, portrayed himself as a very low level contact exhibiting no aggression as in previous engagements.

FORT HORSTED GHOST HUNT  6th June 2013

Carl & I were in the Hanging Room for tonight, and with our first group we passed around the Ghost Pro’s and KII’s for the guests to use, explaining how they all detect spirit.  We had activity on the Ghost Pro’s within a few minutes, initially we had a female spirit, then a male.  After a short while of guests asking the questions to spirit, we decided on holding a séance circle.  We had some swaying within the circle, and may have heard some whistles, but couldn’t establish where they came from.  We broke hands as no more activity, and all guests had the opportunity to explore with kit.  One guest whilst standing next to the area where someone was reputedly hanged, had some strong KII activity.  One of the guests whilst walking along a tunnel felt claustrophobic.  Another guest commented on seeing on the Ghost Adventures programme the spirit box being used, so for 10 minutes we used this, but no voices came through.

For our second group, again we had activity on the Ghost Pro and some KII lights.  We detected two male spirits, a British and French soldier.  We then tried the Ouija table and had some gentle glass movement, but no communication.  We asked spirit with the Ghost Pro if they were able to move the table, and encouraged by a yes we tried this.  The table started rocking gently, and a tap was heard under the table.  The guests then wanted to try the glass on the Ouija table again, and they had movement immediately with communication; Male – Bobby – age 82 – here in 1918.  The spirit also spelt one of the guests name “Adam” to his surprise.  The spirit then seemed to want to have fun, so the guests asked for shapes, circle, bigger circle, faster, and stop and change direction – and the spirit was able to move the glass to the guests request every time when asked.  The spirit also took the glass to the edge of the table to show where he was standing – which was to Adam’s right.  The glass continued moving around the table, twisting under the guest’s fingers, even when they all had the side of their fingers on the glass.  And whilst Carl was filming he had a stone thrown on his leg, by his left knee, looking down on the floor there were several stones, and one a little bit larger which could have been the one.

Taking our third group to the Hanging Room, we had very high KII activity as soon as we walked into the room.  On walking into the room almost everyone felt uneasy, sick, dizzy, headaches, tightness of chest with difficulty breathing, and a sickness in the chest.  Myself & Carl felt a very different atmosphere from before.  We had our new team member Jo with us this time, and as a medium she was able to say who she sensed was in the room with us.  It was a male spirit, called Malcolm, and was hanged in this room.  He was very sad, had lost his family, and took his own life.  We tried to communicate with him on the Ouija table but although had little movement on the glass, no specific words.  We tried some table movement, and the table rocked quite fast, not leaving the ground but fast enough to rotate the table slightly.  Asking if the spirit needed our help to pass over, he promptly left, Jo sensing he was punishing himself by staying here.  We all stood in the room for a little bit longer, and Jo was able to sense another spirit with us.  A man in a grey/blue uniform – Sergeant Rogers – tall with dark short hair, and very dark eyes, slightly evil looking, but not an evil person.  Had an air of authority about him.  He wore very shiny shoes, and was from 1914.  He didn’t particularly like Carl, said he didn’t respect him.  Perhaps he was the spirit that had pushed Carl in this room on previous times.  Feeling this was the case, Carl stood in the corner where Sergeant Rogers was standing, asking for him to move him again.  Whilst standing there Carl felt like someone was tugging at his belt, looking around each time, no-one was near him.

Again a great night at Fort Horsted.

Fort Borstal (leader 3) – 4-5-2013

Thursday, June 6th, 2013

Fort Borstal ghost hunt 4th May 2013
Rochester, Kent

My area was the Old Officers Mess for the night, and of we went with my first group.  We started with Ghost Pro’s and two different spirit energies stepped forward to communicate with us.  The guests wanted to try the Ouija table which gave us some slight movement on the glass, and trying table tipping had some slight movement/vibrations.  However many different noises were heard: taps on wall and metal, the sound of chains rattling (although on checking after the owner had been outside moving the gate), however one noise sounded like one of the chairs in the corridor moving across the floor.

Returning with my second group, as we all stood in the corridor we all heard a female sigh.  Checking with each other none of us had made this sound.  And whilst we were standing in one of the rooms, Marc (team) & friend joined us and said he could smell perfume as he walked down the corridor, but as he entered the room where we all were, he couldn’t smell it no more.  The guests wanted to try the Ouija table straight away, and as they all put their fingers on the glass it started moving immediately.  We established the spirit that was with us was Sergeant Tony, age 48, passed in 1868.  We asked if there were other spirits with him, he said yes – 8.  Then the table started rocking gently, so we took this as Tony’s request to do some table tipping.  On removing the glass, the table started rocking more, giving the guests some amazing proof of what the spirits are capable of doing.  After plenty of table movement, it suddenly stopped and we all felt Tony had left us, however the table started moving again, and the guests thought a female spirit had joined us.  By asking the spirit to tip the table one way for “yes” and another way for “no”, we found out the spirit was female, and not happy.  Her name was Daisy, and was abused by men.  She needed our help passing over.  We then did a séance circle and helped her pass to the light.  The guests then wanted to try table tipping again, and the table started moving again.  Again with the table tipping yes and no, we found out we had a male spirit, called Simon in his 20’s.  One of the guests who is sensitive sensed he was very fit, athletic and muscular, tall, protective towards women, and a nice man.  He was able to move the table in many different ways, often spinning on one leg, and at one time sending Chris (guest) to the floor.

I returned with my third group and after a short wander around with kit, the guests wanted to do the Ouija table.  The glass started moving and we established the spirit with us was French, age 36 from 1945.  He had a sweetheart and two children, who he still visits in France now.  When we asked his name he gave us a mixture of letters and numbers, which when asked he confirmed was his rank number.  Whilst I was standing watching the guests on the table, I looked to my left and jumped when I saw the spirit.  Approximately 6’ tall, wearing a dark grey uniform.  When we asked spirit if I had just seen him, and the details he answered yes.  We then removed the glass and asked spirit to move the table.  The table kept rocking gently, and when we asked spirit to lift the table up on one side, the metal legs would creak and then the table would lift.  This happened a few times, and always when we asked.

At this point the controlled sessions were almost finished and the guests had the opportunity to choose where to go.  They chose to try the Ouija board to see if any spirits were still there.  The glass started moving and started spelling “KILL” continuously.  At this point we knew we need to stop, so after putting a stronger protection around us all, we asked the spirit to move the glass to the middle of the table and stop, of which he did and we removed our fingers from the glass.  We returned to base with the intention of asking Steve (medium) to come back with us, however his guide had just informed him of the spirit that was with us.  His name was Micky, was a bad energy, had a huge sword and wanted to recreate something; we weren’t brave enough to ask what that was.  Steve’s guide went off to send the spirit on his way….

A great night !!!

Nothe Fort ghost hunt 20th April 2013
Weymouth, Dorset

The team were looking forward to returning to this amazing place, and the night did not disappoint.  Sean & I took our first group to the gun room, and immediately we had activity on the ghost pro.  We tried some glass movement on the Ouija table, and although the spirits responded on the ghost pro saying they would make it move, nothing happened.  We then did a séance circle to build up the energies.  Immediately to my left Christian (guest) had both his arms being moved.  He was able to ask spirit to move his arms in a particular way of which spirit did.  The guest to his left thought he was moving his arms, so we suggested she ask in her head for spirit to move his arms.  Although Christian’s arms moved to her response she still remained sceptic.  Spirit continued to move around the circle and move almost everyone, in many different ways, and often to their response.

For our second session, Sean & I were again in the gun room and tried some table tipping.  Myself and three guests very lightly placed our fingers on the table and asked spirit to step forward and move the table.  We were encouraged by the very high levels of activity on the KII,  that the spirit with us was a strong energy.  Although we only had very slight movement on the table, what amazed us all more was the continuous tapping under the table, on the metal frame and the wooden top.  And this would happen when we asked for it.

Sean & I then took the group down to the Caponier, and after some initial exploring we held a séance circle.  Sean & Pete (guest) were starting to feel some swaying, and at this point Steve (medium) joined us.  He told us the spirit with us was a policeman called Sergeant Terry.  The spirit was able to move around the circle and move many of the guests by gentle swaying.

This was the end of the controlled sessions, and at this point all the guests had the opportunity to explore the fort with ghost hunting kit, with or without team.

I returned to base, and took the guests that were there to a quieter end of the café and showed them how to use the pendulums and dowsing rods.  All were amazed by the movement when they were holding them.  We then tried the Ouija board, and were pleased to have some movement.  Although very slight, we were surprised by the gentle twists we received, even continuing when just two people were touching.

Great night – great venue – can’t wait to return.

Fort Horsted – 16-3-2013

Fort Horsted ghost hunt 16th March 2013
Chatham, Kent

Sean & I took our first group of 10 guests into the back area of the fort, and split in two with Sean taking 5 guests to Room 36 and me taking 5 guests to the Hanging Room.  After an explanation of how the kit works we started by asking out for spirit to step forward and make themselves known to us.  Immediately we had activity on the Ghost Pro’s and KII.  Sean started his group with a séance circle and almost straight away guests were having swaying and arm movement, and often when the guests asked how to be moved the spirit responded to their amazement.  My group tried some glass movement on the Ouija table but had no response.  After 30 mins we swapped the guests over, and my second group started with Ouija table.  They had no movement on the glass but the table rocked once.  We took this as a sign that the spirit wanted to move the table and not the glass.  The table started with gentle rocking and with encouragement from the guests the table started rocking quickly.  When spirit was asked to stop – the table stopped immediately, when asked to re-start it did.  Guests wanted the table to spin around but the spirit found a unique way of doing this, by rapidly rocking the table until it started moving around in a circle.  The guests then asked for the table to be tipped up, which spirit did, however for a few minutes it balanced almost at a right angle until it fell to the ground.  At this point our time was up and we returned for a break.  Sean’s second group had only Ghost Pro activity.

Our second session followed the same as before, but not much activity that time.

Next all guests had the opportunity to choose where to go, and Sean and I took some guests to Casement 26.  Some of the guests felt uneasy in this area, and didn’t stay too long, however we did have Ghost Pro and KII activity.  Sean & I were then joined by five more guests, and we started with a séance circle.  All seven of us had arm movements and swaying immediately.  All our fists met in the middle of the circle, and would be moved to where we wanted at request.  We used this opportunity to ask the spirit some questions, we felt that as this group of guests seemed to have been followed by the same energy all night it could be a relative.  We asked the question “If you are a relative to this people could all our arms be moved up together” the response was all our arms being moved up.  One of the guests thought it could be her nan, we asked for all our fists to be touching again if yes, and all our hands met in the middle.  The guest thought her granddad was also with us.  We then let the spirit(s) move us in whichever way they chose.  This was followed by arms being moved up down and in almost every position you could think of.  All of us being pulled to the ground then up again.  I looked across at one guest who was in a ‘superman’ position.  Sean was being stretched with his arms out at the side as far as he could go.  Four more guests joined us, the activity continued but mainly to the original guests and team members.  We were also hearing noises, 3 loud booms, voices/talking, and when we asked spirit to copy our whistle we all heard a clear response.  The movement in the circle continued, focussing mainly on Sean and the original five guests.  They were being pushed in very uncomfortable positions and when we asked spirit to stop and return people to standing positions spirit were kind enough to oblige. The guest to my left (Gavin) also felt a finger poke him in his side.  I said I thought I had felt myself being poked a moment before.  Gavin had also being filming earlier and was surprised that his battery had drained very quickly.

Our time was up so after thanking spirit for their efforts, we returned to the comfort and warmth of the base room.  Great night….

Groundlings Theatre – 26-1-2013

Groundlings Theatre ghost hunt 26th January 2013
Portsmouth, Hampashire

Marc & I were using the Umbrella Room for the night (so called because of the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling) and prior to being a theatre this room was one of the classrooms for the school.  Our first group were 4 girls, and we started by sitting around a ouija table.  We had contact immediately on the Ghost Pro and established the spirit was a female actress.  We asked if the spirit would communicate with us through the ouija table, with a reply of yes we tried this.  Noises were being heard from one corner of the room, so I went to stand there.  I tapped three knocks on the counter and asked spirit to copy, what I heard was three heartbeat type knocks on a table next to me.  I then felt like someone pinch my right eyebrow, and started feeling my chest tighten making it difficult to breathe.  Marc who was sitting at the table, started feeling his chest tighten too.  The girls and Marc started feeling coldness around their hands and faces, and it felt very cold under the table too.  One of the guests felt she was being touched on her nose, eyebrow and ear on the right side of her face.  We turned on the Sprit Box and asked spirit to say any of the names of the persons present and heard the name Marc.

As we had no movement with the Ouija table, thinking as this was a classroom we may have a child spirit present, for the second group we tried the writing planchette.  Marc set up his MEL meter on the counter in the corner where we heard noises earlier, and started noticing the numbers increasing.  It continued to increase until it reached 3.8mg.  Then the alarm lights went off – detecting a shadow going past.  The temperature increased by 2.7 degrees celsius.  We had ghost pro activity throughout and established we had a female teacher aged over 20, although no movement on the writing planchette.  We turned on the Ovilus and heard “good evening” “Mark” (guest and team) “Emma” and “Tom”.  Then to all of our surprise we started hearing various swear words.  A guest commented about going up the ladder and we heard “fatal” “funeral” “sin” on the ovilus. For our third group we started with the ovilus and the following names were heard “steve” “zoe” “ruby” “peter”.  We asked if spirit was calling the names of children – we had a yes on the ghost pro.  Then the Manager Jim said he was teaching children at the theatre earlier that day with those names.  We then heard the names “kelly” and “alan”.  The 5 guests we had were all related/together and one of them was a lady called Kelly.  Someone she knew called Alan had passed recently, and when asked if this spirit was him the ghost pro answered yes.  The ovilus continued giving us; “alan” “forever” “content” “i feel happier” “steve birkett” “medicine” “leicester”.  All of these words (except steve birkett) had some meaning to the guests.  2 of the male guests kept feeling very cold with touches to their faces.  The guests asked Alan to say how old he was, the ovilus answered “ten” – although this wasn’t his age the guests understood his answer.  We heard “rest” and “sybil” – this was the name of Kelly’s nan.  We then heard “question” “stand back” and “bless”.  I then looked up at the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and asked if Alan could show us if he could move any of them.  Much to everyone’s surprise and delight one next to the window started rotating slowly clockwise, then getting faster.  I said as the umbrella was next to the window we couldnt’t be certain it was spirit, therefore could spirit change the direction.  After 5 minutes of slowing down, the umbrella started rotating anti-clockwise.  On the ovilus we heard “faster” and “much”.  After a while we noticed the umbrella had stopped and when we asked for Alan to move it, it started rotating again.  We asked Alan to move another umbrella, and one started swaying slightly.  The MEL meter had been turned on and with no-one near it, the shadow detection alarm went off.

This was the end of the controlled sessions, and everyone then had the opportunity to explore on their own.  A fantastic venue – can’t wait to return.

Fort Borstal private ghost hunt – 2-2-2013

Thursday, February 28th, 2013

Fort Borstal private ghost hunt 2nd February 2013
Rochester, Kent

This was a special ghost hunt for a Hen party as they wanted something scarier than a hotel, they couldn’t have picked a better location as the very nature of this Fort is meant to be hidden and the owners maintain that.

The best evidence to be had at this location is when there are very few people in a particular part, but because this group wanted to stay together (to start with) we all headed off to the old Officer’s Mess area.

After we gave the majority of the guests some of our kit to enable them to detect the spirit energies that were present, whilst I and Carl (a colleague) filmed them we noticed that any small amount of noise made the guests a bit jumpy, bearing in mind of course that we were in virtual darkness.

There were some extremely high levels of EMF detected and shown on our KII meters and the ghost communicator devices were also busy during this time. Many of the guests were asking the usual types of questions although several times someone asked whether the spirits would like us to leave and every time the answer was “Yes”.

Other guests felt some light touches and lights were seen in the room and after a while once everyone had got used to the dark I decided to hold a séance. The spirit energies that were present; two prisoners Timothy & Jeremy from the 1880s were able to move some people’s arms and also gently push some people, not to the point of falling over, but enough for them to know that it wasn’t them losing their balance.

After a short break the guests all went off with the other two members of my team; Marc & Jo to use Ouija boards and to do some table tilting whilst Carl & myself went off to a separate area to do some EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiments and to test some new hearing enhancement kit.

Once the guests came back from this session we then let them decide what they wanted to do & where they wanted to go. Most of the guests wanted to go to the counterscarp galleries as this was the only area in which they hadn’t visited during the first two sessions, so the whole group was split into two groups and I took the first group to the galleries.

As soon as we arrived in the area and after the guests wandered throughout the galleries I decided the best way the guests could experience spirit activity was to hold a séance. Captain Daniel Bedford was the spirit energy that was keen to demonstrate his abilities. He was about 6’3” in his late 20s and of a slim build. He seemed to be a very strict man and angry that he had passed away during the First World War, he considered himself too young.

Throughout the séance Daniel was able to manipulate the guests’ arms as well as push them forward and pull them backwards. He was also able to twist people and pull them down onto the floor. Some guests tried to resist this movement but the spirit energy was far greater than their strength and eventually all guests were moved, some pinned against a wall.

At the end of this séance I conducted an EVP experiment the best results can be heard at:-
http://youtu.be/prEBSLiGhzo
http://youtu.be/4oqhNyUcmXg
http://youtu.be/5fdvZiJM_nQ

The second group to this area were also treated to some unusual arm movement by Daniel although this time and with these guests many felt pains in their knees and this was before any pushing and pulling had started. Many guests in this group were also swayed and twisted and eventually the same types of movements were felt by this group as well and even though there were more people in this group than the first once again many people were pushing against a wall, resisting the force turned out to be futile as the spirit energy just wanted us against a wall, once we were moved to the wall the pressure felt in peoples arms and legs just dissipated away.

Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt and one which everyone present are unlikely to forget as this was one of the most physical ghost hunts at Fort Borstal that we have undertaken.

FORT BORSTAL GHOST HUNT 12th January 2013

I was with Steve most of the night but a couple of highlights for me were; during our second session in the casement galleries I went with some guests to the opposite end to Steve and three guests.  We held a séance circle and initially most of the guests felt like they were being swayed, like on a boat.  Then some guests had some gentle arm movement, to their amazement.  All were enjoying the feeling, until one guest felt like a hand around his wrist.  This unnerved him somewhat and after calming down we realised our session had ended.

After our two controlled sessions I took a group of guests to the Officers Mess.  We tried table tipping but unfortunately only heard the odd taps under the table, however we did hear heavy footsteps in the corridor.  Helen (team) who was filming went to investigate but it stopped.  When she came back into the room we would hear them again.  We then decided to try a séance circle in the corridor, this was very enjoyable as all the guests had some gentle arm movement.  The guests would ask in their head for spirit to move their arms a particular way, and to their surprise they got what they asked.

I then went with a group of guests to the Caponier.  As we went in a group of guests were just finishing talking to spirit on the Ouija table, however when we tried only slight movement on the glass was felt.  But to our amazement we heard a stone thrown on to the ground next to us.  We looked for the stone and found one in a small gulley.  Just when we resumed with the Ouija table we heard another stone fall to the ground.  Again when looking saw a white stone next to the first one, and we knew that one had not been there before.  Then whilst trying the Ouija table again we heard a third stone being thrown onto the wet concrete, however after much searching could not find it.  Here is a photo of the two stones.

RED LION 29th December 2012

I started with my first group in Room 6.  We established we had the spirit of Jack with us (using the Ghost Pro) who I had met before.  Jack said he would be happy to communicate with us using the Ouija table.  We had gentle glass movement, with the glass twisting when asked.  We heard a noise in the room, and on investigating believed it to be a wooden frame being banged against the wall.  We then moved to Room 4 and immediately had spirit showing their presence on our Ghost Pro’s.  This was Alice and she was able to touch guests in different places, and when guests asked Alice to confirm it was her by touching somewhere different, a cold touch was felt there also.

I took my second group to Room 6 first, and using the Ghost Pro, the spirit of Jack confirmed he was still with us.  We had some slight movement with the glass on the Ouija table, then turned on the Spirit Box, to which we heard a female voice saying “help”.  We then went to Room 4, and using the Ghost Pro’s the spirit’s of Alice, Jack and Michael confirmed they were with us.  One guest said they felt a cold touch on their arm.  Two guests took it in turns to try Scrying (looking into a mirror and asking spirit to step forward and show us what they look like).  However it wasn’t until we left the room, one of the guests came up to me and after seeing the person who was looking into the mirror in the light, he described what he saw; a man with a goatee beard and pointed eyebrows – the guest did not look like this!

For my third group we went to Room 6 only, and was very fortunate to have some amazing glass work on the Ouija table.  The spirit of Alice was with us, and all the guests had the opportunity to ask Alice to answer some personal questions only they would know.  Many times asking the questions in their head.  This brought happy tears to some, and total amazement to all.  We were able to think of a shape and Alice would draw it.  When asked to draw circles, fast and slow, and change direction, Alice would do what we requested immediately.  I then asked Alice to draw short random movements, which she had done on a previous ghost night at the Red Lion, which she happily obliged.

For the fourth session, we had the spirits of Alice and Michael with us, but had no glass movement at all.

For the final ‘free’ session I went with four guests to Room 4, and guests tried Scrying.  Other guests watching were able to see facial changes, and one of the guests doing the scrying kept seeing her face going dark, although the guests watching couldn’t see this.

Great night for our last ghost hunt for 2012!!
