FORT HORSTED 8th December 2012

Group B

Our first group of guests were very nervous, this being their first ghost hunt.  We started with a séance circle to help calm everyone’s nerves – it helped a little.  Marc was sensing spirit behind him, and odd noises were heard, one being a wing fluttering noise several times.  We checked with Paul the Manager and he confirmed it could have been a bat (although a bat in flight seldom makes a sound).  We then tried the ouija board and had some glass movement.  Guests were getting cold breezes on their faces, and when everyone was touching the glass or writing planchette it felt very warm around their hands.  On the Ovilus we asked spirit to give their name and we heard “Steve Birkett” – “February” – “Date of Birth” – “Gemma” this was a guests name.  Throughout we kept hearing noises in the corridor, and at one time a guest and Marc came running back into the room after hearing a loud noise – this turned out to be one of the tenants in a nearby unit revving his car very loudly to let us know he was leaving.

Group C

We started with a séance circle but nothing was happening so we tried the ouija board.  Almost immediately one of the guests scarf was moved (vertically, from her abdomen area, upwards, with no one touching the scarf or in close proximity), which was seen by others, and felt by the guest.  Again just small movement with the glass.  Karen (guest) and myself used the dowsing rods – and to our amazement we had a cross for yes and an open for no shown.  We established we had the spirit of a young girl called Emily (a spirit previously known to us on other vigils) with us, and she would move the rods to exactly where we asked.  On the Ovilus Marc heard the name “Hetty” which was personal to him.  Also during this session everyone kept hearing a dog barking – it is alleged a black dog haunts the tunnels.

Group A

We started with the ouija board but had no glass movement, however Damian (guest) and myself heard a male groan between us, and at that point Marc & guests heard a high pitched female scream in the corridor.  We then all went into the opposite room to try a séance circle, except Marc who whilst alone in the room heard a male groan next to him.  During the séance guests experienced swaying, with arm movement starting with Damian first.  Danielle (guest) and myself were moved next, then Rob (guest) who was also being twisted.  We then decided to stop and try table tipping as the guests had had success with this during the previous session in the hanging room.  Immediately we had the table lift up towards Linda in response to showing us a “yes”.  With encouragement from us we were able to see the table move in many different ways when asked.  This was filmed so hopefully there will be some footage to view. Additionally, Marc captured a mist like anomaly, as well as orbs, passing in front of the video camera lense.  Other team members sought to debunk this claim, but circumstances prevailing at the time, and actual camera positioning, proximity of others, etc almost, definitely discounts their claims that it was merely breath.  Footage available for scrutiny.

Free Session

I had three guests that wanted to return to the Hanging Room where they had table tipping earlier, but wanted to try the ouija board first.  We had spirit present giving his name as “Rob” age “33” and passed in “1867”.  He also confirmed he was the British Soldier that was with these guests earlier moving the table, but not the spirit present in Room 10.  We then stopped with the ouija board and tried table tipping again.  This was a little slow to start, but started with tapping under the table.  Then with encouragement from us, the table started rocking very quickly.  We then established “yes/no” with the table tipping, and was able to confirm this was Rob with us.  We were then able to experience some amazing table movement, with the table turning rapidly and sliding across the floor too.  Spinning in one direction and when asked to change direction the table would respond.  We then wanted to establish where the spirit was standing so with myself pointing all round the room, the table tipped up for yes just to the left of the stairs.  I then remembered seeing the spirit of a British Soldier in that same place on a previous night, and when asked if that was him, he tipped the table to confirm “yes”.

Marc’s Free Session

EVP exercises carried out with individual guests whilst others engaged in the Ouija table, but quickly abandoned this idea as they felt extremely uncomfortable without the presence of a team member in the room.  Data still to be reviewed and analysed.

Once again an amazing night at Fort Horsted – we all absolutely love this venue and can’t wait to return.

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt – 31-10-2012

Wednesday, January 16th, 2013

RED LION HOTEL 31st October 2012

I was using the coffee shop for the evening, and started with the ouija board and writing planchette.  We had some small movement with the writing, but nothing with the ouija so we amalgamated into one group and tried glass movement, with some of the group going down to the cellar of the coffee shop.  This was successful with Alice Millar identifying herself to us.    I asked Alice to draw a circle which she did.  Then the guests took it in turns to ask in their head for shapes to be drawn which Alice duly obliged.  The guests were also asking Alice to take the glass to certain people around the table which she did.  We did notice the KII would light up when questions were asked as if responding with a yes.

In my second group four guests wanted to spend time alone in the cellar, whilst the remainder tried the writing planchette.  Alice identified herself as being with us still.  We had a lot of random writing on the paper, nothing legible.  The guests were all taking it in turns to remove their fingers, the pencil still moving around the paper, even with just two left.  The guests downstairs were hearing noises around them, and with many random names being asked to spirit present, they established the spirit was called Barry, liked to be known as Baz.

For my third group three female guests chose to go downstairs, whilst the remaining guests tried the writing planchette.  Alice was no longer with us, but a male energy had stepped forward and tried moving the pencil a little.  Whilst this was happening the girls downstairs had a fright and came running upstairs screaming – they had heard a scratching noise next to them.  We finished the session with all of us going down to the cellar for a short while.

For the free session at the end, two female guests wanted to go back to the coffee shop cellar which we did.  We had the spirit of Baz with us and managed to ask a few questions.  Baz was in his forties and worked as a chef at the hotel cooking breakfasts.

Fort Horsted ghost hunt – 22-9-2012

Friday, October 12th, 2012

Fort Horsted ghost hunt 22nd September 2012
Chatham, Kent.

This was our third visit to Fort Horsted in September, the previous two ghost hunts were quite active and all guests had some physical paranormal activity as well as experiences which left them speechless.

We were hopeful that this ghost hunt would be just as productive and we had two guests from the US who saw the Ghost Adventures show back in July and whilst in the UK on holiday decided to attend one of our ghost hunts. Click http://tinyurl.com/8ewbs2q to watch the Ghost Adventures episode at Fort Horsted.

Before we had even started the area at the end of the main tunnel which is an area where many people have experienced strange things, guests and GHE staff saw some strange lights and odd noises coming from the derelict areas of the fort.

I took all groups to casement 26, as this is the most interesting part of the fort, it is also the most strenuous to get to and from. Usually we go into the rooms on the left hand side of the casement but due to two nesting squirrels we used the rooms on the right.

Whilst in this area there were sporadic levels of KII activity but a lot of communication via our electronic equipment. I suggested to a few guests to go into the small room at the back which would have been used to store ammunition. In here there was a male energy called Michael and as people held out their hands he was able to touch them and the guests felt strange sensations in their hands as well as a pins & needles in their fingers.

After joining the bulk of the guests I conducted a séance to try to get the spirit energies that were present to move the guests. Raini (guest) who was standing to my left got the most attention during this as she kept claiming that it was horrible. However the spirit energies were able to move the majority of people’s hands and arms, especially Robyn, Joanne & Graham (guests).

Many times throughout the session everyone heard the sound of talking, whispers and noises which came from the other end of the casement, none of these sounds sounded like two nesting squirrels.

The second group to come to this area were not as brave as the first group; however this did not detract from the level of activity experienced, once again there were high levels of communication via our equipment but less activity on the KII. Odd and strange noises were heard in this area again although they did not sound similar to the noises I heard earlier, these were the sounds of something being hit or dropped.

We were joined by a different male energy, his name was Charlie and he was 53 years old and passed over in 1965. Charlie was a stocky built man about 5’7” in height who was mostly bald except for a small patch at the back of his head. He gave me the impression that he was a carpenter or joiner and that he was a local man who would have worked at the Fort during the 1950s.

Charlie was able to move the hands of the majority of the guests and push or pull some of the guests which all seemed to happen with little warning.

The third group were petrified as soon as we entered the room, some of them looked like that had already seen a ghost!

The spirit activity encountered by this group was a lot less that previous groups, but there was some communication via equipment and in the séance there were some small movements felt by one or two of the guests.

No noises were heard whilst we were in this area with this group.

After the guests had experienced three sessions we then let the guests decide where they would like to go and try to experience the fort in smaller groups. We were all on hand to supervise them but the activities the guests participated in were entirely their own choice. We also gave our equipment to those guests who wanted to do lone vigils or small groups.

Many of the guests chose at this time to go back to casement 10 as the Ouija board and glass movement that the majority of groups experienced was truly exceptional, videos of this will be on our website shortly.

I however joined a group that were far away from everyone else where the group were talking to a young female energy via our electronic equipment. I suggested we hold a séance to get the energies (there were more than one) to interact with the guests. Once I had collected two guests that were investigating an area on their own and brought to this group I joined in the séance. David Corey was the name of the spirit that was in the room with us and he managed to move some of the guests hands.

The Lowndes Arms ghost hunt – 14-7-2012

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

The Lowndes Arms, Whaddon, Buckinghamshire – 14th July 2012

We were invited to investigate The Lowndes Arms by the Landlord & Landlady as they had many paranormal occurrences happen within the pub. The Landlord had seen a figure in the bar as had the Chef had some of his knives thrown and items move about the kitchen.  The Sun newspaper was also going to be in attendance in the evening to watch and participate in the ghost hunt.

We arrived mid-afternoon as we had brought just about all our kit to investigate this pub and had many hours of set up to do. As we were relaxing in the garden a couple of patrons were talking to us and they too had seen a figure whilst eating their lunch in the bar just a few hours earlier.

We started our base line readings at 8.30pm to establish what the pub was like before any spiritual activity took place. It is normal that before we start to place objects around a building and start to monitor any paranormal activities that the level of activity is lower, these readings in all the upstairs rooms were all within acceptable limits and nothing unusual was spotted or recorded. Temperature was about 21 degrees Celsius in all the rooms and 0.5mG (milli Gauss) of electrical activity.

We had setup six remote cameras which could be controlled and viewed from an area within the main bar and at the beginning of the night no-one seemed interested in what we were doing, however as soon as we turned on the monitors the whole bar was now either watching our screens or talking about ghosts!

From 10.11pm until 12.30am many orbs (light anomalies) and spiritual activity was recorded on our remote cameras, we had motion sensors placed upstairs and for no obvious reason these were being set off. Our KII Meters were showing high levels of activity and our MEL Meters recorded spikes. The majority of the team spent time upstairs within the environment to record and witness any spiritual activity and this ranged from; hearing footsteps of a wooden floor (the corridors were carpeted), hearing whistles, feelings of dread and despair, huge temperature drops and participating in some glass movement across a table. Some of the strangeness that we witnessed, including the EVP’s (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voices) can been seen at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL80BF45357295B4AE&feature=view_all

A strange photograph was also taken by us (see below). What we find odd is that the left hand side of the picture is in focus whilst the right hand side isn’t. We cannot find an explanation for this.

We started our séance circle with the reporter from The Sun at 1.30am in the biggest room upstairs, this room was directly over the bar. Almost instantly we were joined by a female energy called Angela who was 47 years old and she told me that she was a School Mistress from 1870s and worked in the local school. She was a very strict person and called us “Naughty little boys”.

During this séance there was some very gentle arm movement and some slight pushing felt by those present. We were also joined by two children spirit energies who I had spotted on my initial site visit several weeks earlier, although they did not enter the room, they stayed in the corridor.

We were also joined by a male energy called Timmy who was about 62 years old and a fairly portly gentleman and 5’6” in height. He was a local farm worker and passed away in 1917 in a farming incident. He told me that he was using a new piece of farm machinery and had been “pulled in”. He was a happy fellow and it was his energy that was responsible for the gentle movement of our séance circle.

During this séance I conducted an EVP experiment and many spirit voices were recorded after each person, however some of these voices could not be interpreted by our experts. The clearest recordings can be heard at:-

http://youtu.be/OIkyPKbqxYg
http://youtu.be/9QQBVF5o0_8
http://youtu.be/lRW1q-uV6Ww
http://youtu.be/1McAtT2SZrI
http://youtu.be/KL5t1oHlf_E

The séance consisted of; Lee (the Reporter), Suzy (the Landlady), Sean (GHE Team), Kym (GHE Team), Marc (GHE Team) and myself. Also present in the room was Alex (The Sun Cameraman), Mike (The Sun Photographer) and Carl (GHE Cameraman)

We then had a quick break and then resumed the ghost hunt in two groups. The Landlord Jeff had joined us and Lee, Jeff, Sean and I started a Ouija board session. Kym, Carl & Marc went back upstairs to the large room to conduct their own vigil.

There was slight movement on the Ouija board but nothing very impressive as the spirit energy that came forward could not spell. However during this session we all heard various whistling noises. Sean contacted (via Walkie Talkie) the other group to check whether the whistling that we were hearing was them, but the sound of them whistling and what we had heard were different. The group upstairs also heard whistling and “screams” that we did not hear and although this was recorded by Carl none of these whistles or scream could be heard on the recording, but strangely the audio from the camera could clearly hear us downstairs.

Whilst we were trying to get the spirit energy on the Ouija table to spell their name we could all hear a breathing sound, Sean commented that had it been windy then he would have assumed that it was the wind, but it was a still night, there was no wind. Jeff commented that this noise was normal, although he had no idea what was causing it. To me the noise sounded like someone was asleep in the corner of the room and although we searched for the cause of the sound, nothing could be found. This was mainly due to the fact that it sounded different in different areas of the building, those in the bar thought it came from the restaurant area, whilst those in the restaurant though it came from the bar. Jeff confirmed that no electrical equipment was on that would make this noise. The only electrical equipment which was turned on was in the cellar but we could all clearly hear the cooler above the sound of whatever it was we were hearing. However what was strange is that when we became aware of the sound it lasted for about 10 minutes and then stopped and we did not hear it for the rest of the night.

The group upstairs heard many knocking sounds, taps, whistles and screams but none of this was recorded on any of our equipment. They also commented that at various time the motion sensor lights came on, yet on inspection of the remote camera recordings the motion sensors were not activated.

The ghost hunt finished at about 2.30am.

This was a very interesting ghost hunt as it is unusual that we have the time or the space to set up our remote camera system and monitor it for six hours. We feel that based on the evidence that we recorded it would be worth a re-visit later in the year to ascertain whether the phenomena that we witnessed is recurring paranormal activity or a one-off. We recorded over 27 hours of video and have numerous examples of light anomalies (spirit orbs) and other unexplainable activity recorded during the ghost hunt.

Timeball Tower Museum ghost hunt – 23-6-2012

Thursday, July 12th, 2012

Timeball Tower Museum ghost hunt – 23rd June 2012

Due to the size of this venue I conducted the welcome briefing outside the Tower before anyone entered the building and told everyone of the experiences that the custodians of the building have witnessed for themselves as well as what happened on our first visit to this venue back in January 2012.

This is one of the rare venues that we have a very limited amount of people that we can bring into the Museum and therefore we generally allowed everyone to wander from room to room to conduct their own investigations throughout the night, watched over by the Ghost Hunt Events team. We also conducted several experiments on different levels of the building and guests were free to watch or join in with these vigils and experiments.

Every room we had investigative kit that guests could use as well as a Ouija table set up in the “Clock Room”. Given that this is a museum about time, there were many clocks throughout the building which ticked and tocked, some very loudly that the guests commented that it sounded similar to a dog barking.

The investigation started with people complaining of kidney and back pains as well as a team member having acquired a headache and had to leave the building to recover. Various EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiments took place over the entire evening and many EVPs were recorded by our team as well as some guests who had their own equipment. Many of these are still being analysed as we can hear words being spoken by spirit but cannot fathom the exact words.

During a vigil in the “Television” room two guests repeatedly reported feeling cold spots throughout their body and feeling disorientated and nauseous.

Various knocks and tapping were heard both in rooms and on the staircase, these were not in response to the clocks ticking as we used some relatively new equipment so that we could see the noise. This equipment detects sounds and then displays a light or lights to indicate the loudness of the sound. The noises which were heard in the Television room were reported to be metallic and in the absence of a heating system no obvious source could be found.

KII activity was reported in the uppermost room which on a previous visit we experienced the same phenomena. Our KII meters were picking up very high levels of EMF in the middles of the windows. Normally we can attribute high reading with power cables, but there aren’t any across these windows and thus this is still very much unexplained.

During a very active Ouija session where a male energy who would not give his name, but had visited us just to communicate with us gave us some remarkable answers to our questions including some very personal answer to the people present which simply amazed them. At one point we asked what was the collective age of everyone in the room and the spirit immediately answered with 323, it then took us several minutes to add up all of our collective ages since none of us present are good with maths. The correct answer was 332, but at the time we noted that spirit were correct because we could not be sure that we identified the initial numbers correctly. We then asked immediately what was the time to the spirit and the answer came back as 11:37, once again it took us a moment or two to see the time as we were operating in virtual darkness and no-one was wearing a watch. The spirit was spot on though. Everyone who was present were suitably amazed.

Towards the end of the evening we conducted a dual Spirit box experiment, two spirit boxes were run at the same speed (in reverse) to see if we heard a response on one did we hear it on the other. What was strange is that the two spirit boxes (which were identical) did not stay the same frequency apart during the experiment, with one box running behind the other and then catching up and finally overtaking the other. Whether this is normal or not we don’t know but it reminded me of the metronome synchronisation experiment, which is a known interference stabilisation method, once used in Cathode Ray Tubes (Old style televisions) to keep the picture in place.

When asking the spirit for the colour of the sky, Yellow and Red were heard by everyone present as well as the word rainbow and Saturday. However not all responses were heard on both devices and this is an experiment which we will conduct in the future possibly with three or more spirit boxes.

Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt in which all guests enjoyed themselves and quite a lot of evidence was recorded (and is still being analysed). Generally this was a good ghost hunt for audible noises and inexplicable occurrences as well as two exceptional Ouija board sessions.

Fort Horsted ghost hunt – 3-9-2011 – kym

Monday, September 12th, 2011

FORT HORSTED 3rd September 2011

Investigation 1 ~ Jo, Carl, Louise, Marc, Bradley & Carrie
We headed to an upstairs room on the right hand side of the fort, taking photos and using the EMF which lit up to show spirit present.  Temperature was 15 degrees, later rising to 17 degrees, but returning to 15 degrees when we left.  We then used the Ouija board to talk with spirit.  We had a little response; Female, age 44, from 1700’s.  She tried to spell her name but it wasn’t conclusive.  We asked if she could make a noise, to which she replied yes, but we couldn’t hear anything.  We then held a séance circle.  Immediately we had a spirit present, Marc identified her as a girl, age 7/8, called Emily.  She was very mischevious, having great fun moving several guests.  And not just arm movement, Jo & Louise were moved around the room, twisting and turning several times.  We then whistled and asked spirit to repeat, of which it did, several times.  We assumed this came from the male energy on the stairs.  Carl and Marc stepped out of the circle to listen out for the noises, Marc sensing the male energy frightened the little girl.  At that point the girl left, and the male energy came in the room.  As we looked over to Carl he was doubled over in pain.  He had been punched in the stomach, but no-one was near him.  We promptly put him in the circle to help him recover.  We then left the room, and as we got to the bottom of the stairs, we heard what sounded like a large wooden door slam to our right.  We went to investigate, but it was a dead end, and no door.  We did ask spirit to repeat our knocks, of which we heard taps on the wall.

Investigation 2 ~ Graham, Debbie, Carol, Ellen, Julie & Elisa
We returned to the same room, and with the EMF showing spirit present we tried the Ouija board, but had no movement.  We did a séance circle and immediately we were hearing noises, when asking spirit to respond when asked nothing, but when ignoring spirit, noises were heard.  We proceeded down the stairs, and again heard what sounded like a door closing.  On investigating more noises were heard.  We then went into a room and twice we heard what sounded like a female moaning.  We closed the wooden doors and asked spirit to knock/open them.  Debbie & Graham who were standing next to the door heard a tap, when asking for spirit to repeat louder no response.

Investigation 3 ~ Mia, Graham, Sarah, Helen, Simon & Helen

We proceeded to the furthest part in the fort, and started with a séance circle.  I felt a spirit present, and Mia & I were moved backward and forward several times.  I then had the name Robert in my head, and asked spirit, if this was his name, could he move my arm.  Mine & Mia’s arm promptly moved up.  I then asked Robert to move around the circle and affect the other guests, but unfortunately no response.
As this group wanted to use the Ouija Board we tried this back in the Meeting Room – no response.  We then tried in a different room (Lynn’s room) but again no response.

I would like to thank Paul and his team for a fantastic night and look forward to being invited back again.

Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt – 23-7-2011

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

Pluckley Screaming Woods – 23rd July – Private Ghost Hunt

After walking deep into the woods we stopped at a familiar path (to me), one which has surpassed all our expectations on previous visits to Pluckley woods.

Using my EMF (K2) Metre to show the guests that spirit energy was around, I waited until the energies were close to us before starting a séance.

The first séance a female spirit by the name of Natasha (Tash) stepped forward, she was in her late 20s and about 5’5″ in height. She had long ginger hair and fair skin and was wearing a white dress. She gave me the impression that she was from the 1860s and she was a farmer’s daughter. Almost immediately Nicky (guest) was being gently rocked and mine and Tabitha’s (guest) arms were being moved. After several minutes of Nicky being gently pushed the energy moved around the circle and gave Tabitha the same treatment. A male energy made himself known to me, he was called Tom McBride, aged in his 50s and was about 6′ tall. He was Tash’s father and a well-built gentleman with a very square looking face and what I would call salt & pepper hair colour. Between the two energies they began to firmly push or pull various people although both Laura’s (guests) had very little movement at this time.

During this séance various rustling noises were heard and Tabitha kept looking over her shoulder as she thought she could hear some foot falls of people approaching.

At the end of this session I conducted an EVP experiment and then everyone started taking photos, some of these pictures feature in our Ghostly Gallery http://www.ghosthuntevents.co.uk/gallery.asp

After a short break we proceeded to walk deeper into the woods, to another location which has proved to be active on our other Pluckley ghost evenings.
At this location I suggested that we conduct a séance first to build up the energy and then use a Ouija board.

A male spirit who was aged in his late teens eventually stepped forward, he seemed quite shy and had the appearance of someone who lived rough. His name was David and once he gained confidence he was able to quite forcibly move Laura (who was on my left) with ease. He also moved everyone’s arms and at one point when Tabitha was feeling itchy our arms moved to where the itch was, much to the amazement of Tabitha. At this location many noises were heard, one particular noise which was not paranormal in any way was a cub fox or small mammal calling out, it was a very persistent squeak. During the séance however we all heard a growling noise, which is something that I have not experienced in these woods before, this growling was very close to us and mainly scared everyone. When I left the circle to search for the source of the noise it stopped. Also during the séance various cold spots were noted by some people whereas the person standing next to them noticed nothing. After all movements ceased I decided to set up the Ouija board.

Very quickly an energy came forward and started communicating with us, he was very capable in the use of a Ouija board and knew exactly what to do (which is fairly rare). As he was spelling his Christian name, Nicky told everyone that she knew what it was and to her amazement she was correct. His name was Frank Tanner who lived on the Isle of Man, he was 27 years old when he passed in 1960 and he committed suicide by jumping into a path of a train (on the mainland). His suicide was due to money concerns. He was married to Rita and had 4 daughters. During this session we all heard a noise which we had no heard all evening and when asked Frank said it were he who was making the noise. I asked him to make the same noise again and although quite quiet we all heard the noise.

I asked Frank a question that I have been meaning to ask spirit on a Ouija board for some time. The question was ‘What were you doing immediately prior to this?’ His response was sailing and when I asked where, he gave no answer, in fact he basically told us he couldn’t answer and it was a secret, or something that we do not need to know until it is our turn. It was all very interesting.

After we had finished the Ouija board Tabitha said she could hear a faint whistle or flute, most of the other guests also heard this, but I only heard the last incarnation of this sound. Strangely the direction of this sound was the same direction that we heard the female scream from our March (2011) event and we were in more or less the same spot in the woods.

On the way park to the car park I stopped in a different part of the wood, this part seems to watch you and generally people feel very vulnerable here. Quite quickly the EMF Metre showed us that there was indeed spirit energy about and I suggested holding a séance. Since no torch was on it was extremely dark and Laura (to my right) seemed to have longer hair than she actually had, Nicky and Tabitha also commented on this. Nicky also said that I looked much broader in the shoulders and had an ‘Afro’ hairstyle. At one point Laura felt that I was looking into her face and quite close. I hadn’t moved. A male energy was responsible for the rather violent movements felt by Nicky & Tabitha. He seemed an angry man who was intent on causing trouble, he was aged in his late 20s and came across as a mischievous person. During this séance I had become deaf in one ear, which was not nice since everyone else could hear foot falls and rustling, I could hear it but since deaf in one ear could not locate which direction the sound was coming from. After a short while I suggested we end the séance since the energy had generally stopped moving people and not much else was happening.

Another excellent ghost hunt in Pluckley Screaming Woods, which rarely fails to deliver spiritual activity in some form, although I have noticed that smaller groups here generally get much better results.
