Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt 26th May 2013
Pluckley, Kent.
Our Pluckley ghost hunts are very popular which is why this particular event was held on a Sunday, albeit a Bank Holiday weekend in the hope that it wouldn’t be busy either in Pluckley or the woods, however there were a large number of people in the car park when we arrived and were leaving after spending a couple of hours getting muddy walking around the woods. By the time we started they had all left the woods, but we could still hear them shouting in the car park.
However as we walked deeper into the woods, thankfully we could hear less of their shouting and screaming. After stopping in the middle of the woods, which is where I normally start and after handing out some of our portable ghost hunting equipment the spirit energies started to make themselves known. Firstly by lighting up our KII (EMF) meters and then using the communication devices so that the guests could ask questions and get responses. Many people also took photos at this time and some of their photos contained some strange anomalies, namely mists. Light anomalies or orbs we ignore in the woods because it is probable that they are caused by an environmental issue; like pollen, moisture or insects. A male spirit called Thomas, aged 34 years old joined us briefly and some guests were able to use the electronic equipment to ask him questions.
From here we moved onto another active spot, in fact it is the spot where I and previous guests have heard a strange female scream, which is probably how the woods got its name.
At this location we were joined by a familiar male spirit to me, his name is Philip and he passed away in a motorcycle accident near to the woods in the 1960s. I asked Philip to move the arms of the guests when we were holding the séance, which he was able to do with ease. One of the guests was Spanish and did not understand any English, so it was quite a surprise to him when his hands started to move. Other guests including myself found this quite interesting because this particular person didn’t understand English then he could not have known what I was asking the spirit to do to him and others, which proved to the guests that it wasn’t mind over matter. Lots of guests also felt swaying motions and being pulled backwards into a sort of limbo position! Many guests were also touched (by the arms of other guests) on limbs that were recovering i.e. broken arms, shoulders, ribs etc.
At the end of this séance session I held an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment.
Unfortunately most of the questions contained too much background noise like coughing, whispering and general shuffles to hear any spirit response, however one question had a clear answer from Philip. This can be heard at http://youtu.be/exyvd-NVyI0
From here we moved onto another active spot within the woods, the particular area is a much more spooky part of the woods, the trees have grown in an odd way, which many guests say they look spooky and that the trees seem to watch!
Turning on my spirit box (a device that’s scans the FM radio frequencies in reverse at 100ms) and asking for the spirit present to say someone’s name it didn’t take long before we heard “Steve” plus some other names, although none of those were guests names. But we did hear the words “Go” and “Now”. With this the guests wanted to leave this particular part of the woods as that had spooked them out. Just as we were about to leave the area, two guests (a mother and her son) both heard a voice say “Jesus” however no-one else heard this, nor any noise that could be interpreted as a voice. This is something that happens frequently in this part of the woods, people have often heard voices or noises that no-one else hears.
This was an enjoyable ghost hunt and one in which many guests had some form of paranormal activity that they couldn’t explain happen to them.

Toys Hill and Weardale Manor ghost hunt 17th May 2013
Toys Hill, Kent
Toys Hill and Weardale Manor is one of our locations where the level of activity that is experienced by the guests is always surprising, not least because the location doesn’t seem scary or likely to produce much spiritual activity, but actually is one of the more active outdoor locations.
This ghost hunt I always start in the same place, the site of the old manor house, as the level of paranormal activity felt by the guests is usually something memorable, but it takes time and patience for the guests to experience something.
As usual after asking everyone to turn their phones off the level of activity seen on our electronic equipment surged, this is relatively normal, as mobile phones interfere not only with our equipment but also the level of spiritual activity.
Guests wandered around the perimeter of the manor house, many had spiritual contact on our various equipment. One guest felt a touch on her head and at one point we were all standing on one of the terraces a guest asked that someone we touched or moved. Although I could not see the spirit energy present, I knew which person they were going to move and stood back one step and pointed to the person that was going to be moved, half of the guests could see who I pointed to. Almost immediately the guest that I pointed to felt a touch on her lower back.
Doing this time the spikes seen on our KII (EMF) Meters was outstanding.
From here were moved into the woods to hold a séance, as the woods seem to be where the spirit energies can move and manipulate people. A spirit energy in his mid-50s joined us, he was a farmer who produced cider. The séance started with lots of arm movement, which not only surprised the guests but also exciting and frightened them at the same time. This then progressed after I asked to pushing and pulling people forwards and backwards and generally whoever I asked the spirit to move, they moved.
Many guests felt physical movement either swaying or twisting and those standing nearest to me or opposite felt themselves being pulled downwards, eventually everyone was moved in some way. I asked many times for the spirit to do the same thing to everyone and eventually we all were moved into the “Musketeer’s All for one sign”. The séance ended with an odd movement felt by everyone, which was an anticlockwise twist which everyone moved at the same time.
As we were about to leave the woods I turned on my Spirit Box (a device that scan backwards through the FM radio frequencies at 100ms). Some basic Yes and No answers were heard to questions and then a guest asked how many men were present in our group and a very clear “One” was heard, which was correct.
Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt and one in which all the guests felt some form of physical paranormal activity.

Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt 28th April 2013
Pluckley, Kent
This was the last of the early evening ghost hunts until much later in the year and also one of the occasions where some of the guests failed to notify us that they weren’t coming until moments before we were due to start.
Those that did turn up were treated to an excellent ghost hunt with lots of physical paranormal experiences.
The first session after handing out some of our usual ghost hunting equipment, lots of activity was detected on the KII (EMF) Meters and on our communication devices, where the guests were able to communicate with the spirit energy that was present. His name was David McGloughan (not sure of the spelling) although the spirit energy in question said “you can call me Dave”. He was 32 years old, quite tall at 5’11” and of a muscular build, wearing a cream granddad shirt and tan or light brown trousers and big heavy black boots. He had a round face, light brown hair and a stubble beard.
I had intended to hold a séance here, but didn’t as we needed to move due to the coldness of the woods, so after we walked on and stopped at another crossroads.
At this location there was another spirit energy; Tom aged in his mid-50s and about 5’6” in height, he was unshaven and had large sideburns that extended down to his chin.
Guests were busy taking photographs as some of them had some very unusual mists or apparitions in them, it wasn’t a misty night, in fact there was no weather to speak of, it wasn’t cold either.
After I set up the laser grid there was lots more communication via electronic equipment and KII activity, but nothing notable was seen in the grid. During this time there were some very unusual noises, which didn’t sound like the normal woodland creatures or the trees. This sounded more like purposeful tapping, more like a musical instrument and when I whistled out a distinct whistle back was heard, albeit a very faint one.
At this moment we were interrupted by the sound of people who were shouting, mainly because they were lost and were trying to shout to the rest of their party whom they obviously got separated from. This went on for a while, which I found very amusing as I know where every path goes and we could clearly hear their anxiety. In reality they were only about 500 yards apart but on different parallel paths that don’t join up.
After one of these groups decided to head back towards their car we were able to carry on.
I held a séance where we originally came across the spirit energy Dave, Tom also followed us to this point. Everyone felt their presence as their arms we all moved on command and when I asked for the spirits to gently push people, they were happy to oblige. Many guests were also “wobbled” or swayed which the guests found slightly amusing. Tara (guest) had both her arms pulled backwards.
All the guests were moved in some way and some of the movements were all what the guests asked for (in their heads).
After the séance I turned on my spirit box (a device that scans at 100ms on the FM radio band in reverse). Some words were heard but they were very faint and not clearly audible.
As we were leaving the woods we came across a group of people who were glad to see someone, however they were expecting their friends and not us and were disappointed when I told them where their friends were walking, because their friends were walking on a path that would eventually take them around the whole woods, which is a 5 mile walk.

Toys Hill and Weardale Manor ghost hunt 26th April 2013

Toys Hill and Weardale Manor is a strange place, during the day it a favourite location for walkers as the place is very serene and wonderful views over East Sussex towards Reigate. At night the atmosphere changes and although not in a scary way, but the location seems to have a more watchful feeling. Many guests often feel that they are being watched especially when we are standing around in the area that used to be the Manor house.
This night was no different. Whilst standing in parts of the current landscape, which would have been indoors in the past many people felt uneasy, although our KII (EMF) Meters lit up as the spirit walked amongst us. Our communication devices also allowed the guests to talk to the spirit energies.
Richard (guest) felt strange tingling sensations in his neck, not around his neck, but he said that it felt as if something was manipulating his neck muscles, which he also said felt quite nice, as it was similar to a massage.
After a period of time, we moved away from the remains of the Manor house, as the spirit energy contact was getting less and more sporadic and walked into the woods.
We were joined by a spirit energy called Thomas who was 67 years old, mostly bald and of a thin build, 5’11” in height who was an engineer in life and wearing a blue and white striped shirt, and the sleeves were rolled up. Although he didn’t tell me the era that he was from, by his mannerisms and how he spoke I would have said that he was from the 20th Century.
I started to hold a séance circle, as in the past this has been very fruitful. Once again various people within the group started to feel their arms tingle. Richard also informed us that it felt as if something solid was holding his bicep, like a cane or a walking stick.
Emma (guest) had her arms moved by Thomas and she also felt dizzy and sick at times, this seemed to occur when her arms were moving.
Since Thomas didn’t seem to have enough energy to move some people, I moved around the circle to assist with the energy requirements. When I was standing beside Katie (guest) her arm with me moved suddenly that it surprised her, she was also questioning the movement, so I asked her boyfriend to ask which way her and my arms should move in his head. There is then no way that either Katie or myself are going to know what he asked in his head. Katie was then really surprised when our arms moved and in the direction that was asked for, twice!
After the séance some guests left as they had moaned since the start that it was cold, I asked them why they were not wearing the correct attire for the conditions (a warm coat for instance), given that we were standing on a hill at midnight in April, to which they answered that they didn’t think it would be this cold. It was about 7 degrees Celsius and with a keen northerly wind and completely clear skies.
Those that remained, the spirit energy Thomas had not finished and as we stood there he was able to gently push and sway people, we were not holding hands at the time and the guests found this very strange and exhilarating at the same time.
At the end of this session I conducted an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena A.K.A. ghost voice) experiment. There were answers after all the questions, but unfortunately the majority of these were too quiet to hear properly or when amplified the recording was distorted.

Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt 12th April 2013
Pluckley, Kent
Pluckley woods was on this night a very still and quiet place, no wind whatsoever and a clear cloudless sky, which was excellent for our ghost hunt and for star gazing.
At the first location a Woodman joined us, he was aged in his early 20s and was of a muscular build and he provided the guests with some communication via our electronic equipment and KII meters. When I saw a familiar spirit energy approach I knew this was the time to hold a séance as this particular energy likes proving to people that he is real. His name is Philip and he was involved in an RTA (Road Traffic Accident) on his motorcycle near to Pluckley woods in 1960s. There was also a female spirit energy present, her name was Mary and she was from the Victorian era, she was approximately 18 years old.
During the séance some peoples’ arms were moved on command, and cold spots felt by many (there was no wind at all) but our attention was on the strange noises that we could all hear behind Paul (guest) who was being affected by Philip. The noises sounded like a real person walking behind us and although many guests were looking in that direction, no-one saw anything unusual.
The second location some names were heard on the spirit box (a device that scans the FM radio frequencies at 100ms in reverse) that sounded like “Paul” and “Chloe” who were names of the guests, plus some other names which were not related to us at all.
I also set up the laser grid at the same time although nothing unusual seen in the grid. There was a female spirit energy present and the details that I described to the guests were confirmed on our communication device. Once again we could hear some strange foot falls, although with every sound heard, the guests lit the woods up with their torches and if there had been anything to see I suspect they would have spotted it.
From here we moved on to an older part of the woods and a spirit energy that we encountered in the last session was following us and was affecting Chloe. Chloe felt a great deal of pressure on her shoulder akin to wearing a heavy rucksack.
We formed a circle to hold another séance as there was a male energy present who was eager to move the guests in some way. His name was Timothy and he was able to move the majority of the guests arms and pull some of them backwards, all of which was on command. Many guests also felt touches to their faces and some peoples arms were moved into painful and what looked to be impossible positions.
After the séance some guests were asking questions and a lot of noises were heard at this time, but one female guest turned around to us and asked what did I say, when in fact I didn’t say anything at all, although she heard “Hello”, myself and the guest I was talking to didn’t hear a thing.
Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt with lots of paranormal activity felt by the guests.

Pluckley is a great place to go ghost hunting, but you need quiet and because of the popularity of Pluckley amongst local teenagers it is hard to find times when it will be quiet, fortunately for us this was one of those days.
Our first stop was a usual place for me and spirit energies often pass along this path. As I was explaining how to use the various different items of our ghost hunting kit high levels were seen on our KII meters although one of the communication devices wasn’t working how it was supposed to, whether this was the device itself or spirit interfering with it, we’ll never know.
A female energy approached the group cautiously although when she did come close enough she was happy to communicate via the electronic equipment, but not keen to divulge information about herself.
After a while I held a séance as there was a male spirit energy present. Although he wouldn’t tell me his name, he was in his late 50s, quite stocky build and had large sideburns and smartly dressed. This energy was able to move the arms of some of the guests and push and pull one of two of the guests. During the séance some odd noises were heard by the guests and me. These noises were not animal sounds, but more like the sort of noise a person would make walking through the undergrowth as the footfalls were sometimes quite loud.
The second location I was using my spirit box (a device that plays snippets of radio stations, running at 100ms and scanning the FM radio bands in reverse) We all heard “Hi”, “Hello” and “Me” but none of the questions asked got a definite response.
Whist we were listening to the spirit box several guests saw some red lights in the trees not on the path, which is a fairly common sight. As a guest and I were turning around to look back at the spirit box, we both saw strange white lights further along the path, these lights were much bigger than torch light and at the time it looked like car lights, which would be impossible because of where we were in the woods. However we all walked in the direction of the lights to investigate.
When we got to the end of the path, where it turned left and right and we didn’t see anything that could cause the strange white lights I decided to turn on the laser grid as this has proved to be successful in past ghost hunts. There were two spirit energies that approached us, a brother and sister, wearing no shoes and dressed in what some would describe as being “peasant clothing” and although they didn’t show up in the laser grid I approached them with a guest and asked that the spirit energies touch the guest. The guest felt tingling sensations in their hands and as their hand was held out they could feel the spirit energies touch their hands. Several other guests also came over to join us to feel the same sensations.
From here we moved back into the woods and into a much more dense part of the woodland. We were joined by Simon, a male spirit energy who was about 5’7” in height, with blonde hair and fair skin. He was quite muscular and 24 years old. He was from the 1950s.
We were all standing in a circle and I asked him to touch some of the guests, one guest in particular felt a tingling sensation around her face, neck and head as Simon said he would touch this guest. Many of the female guests stated that they had sore backs and all said that it felt much more comfortable when slightly bent over. This sensation has been reported in this particular part of the woods before on past ghost hunts, but it only seems to affect female guests.
Once again a productive ghost hunt with all of the guests feeling some form of physical spiritual and paranormal activity.

Oldbury Hill Fort ghost hunt 5th April 2013
Sevenoaks, Kent
Oldbury Hill is always an interesting place because whilst it is close to the main road it is also so tranquil once within the confines of the Fort. A few days before this event the team members that were going to be present walked through here in the day to familiarise themselves with the paths. On this day we also found one of the Neolithic caves by accident.
After ascending the rather steep incline into the Fort we made our way to one of the more interesting crossroads.
After handing out some of our ghost hunting equipment to the guests and explaining its use, several large spikes of EMF (Electromagnetic fields) were showing up on our KII meters as well as some communication via that equipment. A guest told me that he could see a male spirit energy approximately late 50s wearing a grey RAF coat tied at the waist with twine. This spirit also had a dog with him, also on a twine or rope lead.
I was also aware of two other male spirit energies, one was about 22 years old and of a stocky build, the other was in his 50s wearing a large brown coat (Jonathon Creek style) and a flat cap.
After experimenting with a laser grid, as in the past this has proved to be very successful at this location, although nothing extraordinary was seen on this occasion, we moved to another part of the woods where activity is usually quite high.
Here I decided to hold a séance as this would be an ideal way to show all the guests that spirit energies were amongst us. I asked for the spirit who was named Alfred and aged in his late 30s to move the arms of the guests and to push people gently. Alfred proceeded to lift the arms of several guests and about three quarters of the guests felt some arm movement, although it took a while as we were a large group. Alfred was also able to push some of the guests, although Kayleigh who was standing on my left received most of the attention and was pushed and pulled throughout the séance.
Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt where the majority of the guests felt spirit energy move them in some way.

Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt 8th March 2013

The day time before the event, there was some truly horrendous weather, with heavy rain throughout most of Kent so when heading off to Pluckley (in the rain) I wasn’t expecting it to stop. However once in the woods there was no rain, just a lot of mud, one of the worst I have experienced in Pluckley. It was also a very busy car park with swathes of people leaving or arriving all of them wearing all the wrong footwear for the conditions. As we headed into the woods to a particular area that I have found to be very active a group of teenagers were trying to follow us, however we were all dressed for the occasion they, were not and after they lost sight of us we could hear them trying to find their way out of the woods as several of them had fallen over into the mud. After 10 minutes we could no longer hear their voices.
The first area, which is where I normally start, was as usual very active with high levels of KII EMF activity seen on our KII meters plus high levels on our communication devices. There was a female energy present who answered some of the guests questions and then abruptly left.
I held a séance at this location and some arm movements were felt by the guests, some on command which progressed into pushing and pulling people backwards gently and then on to swaying and rocking people en mass left and right.
One guest felt a touch from behind her whilst we were holding the séance which was unusual because we were all holding hands for the séance and there were no trees or plants anywhere near where we were standing.
The spirit energy responsible for these movements is a spirit energy which I often see on this pathway, his name is Peter and he was a victim of a motorcycle crash in 1960s. There was also an older gent looking on, he was approximately in his 50s and spent most of the time laughing at what Peter had achieved.
The second session further along the path I set up my laser grid mainly because there was a light fog hanging in the woods and this effect looks so much better with fog although no one saw anything unusual although at the same time I turned on the spirit box (a device that scan backwards through the FM radio stations at 100ms) and several words were heard although nothing definite in answer to our questions. Two guests however saw some very low level red lights in the near distance and whilst we could not rule out that this could have been other people we heard no footfalls or any other noise nor any torch lights.
The third session I tried to hold another séance, there were a husband and wife spirit energies present, he was called Tommy (Tom) both aged in their late 30s or early 40s, he was a cow farmer and had rather large hands. The resulting séance there were some strange arm movements but unfortunately most of the movement was focussed at me, which was a shame as the rest of the guests would have liked to have felt these strange movements.
All in all another enjoyable ghost hunt where many guests felt some unusual paranormal activity and saw some unusual light anomalies. No EVPs (ghost voice) experiments were undertaken due to the earlier rain which was still falling from the trees.

Pilgrims Way Woods ghost hunt 22nd February 2013
nr Maidstone, Kent
This was the third ghost hunt that we have undertaken in the snow and although it was quite heavy whilst waiting at the meet point, by the time we had driven to the start of the walk uphill the snow had eased off a little. The wind however was still biting cold. The walk which is all uphill however warmed everyone up.
On entering the woods I handed out some of the electronic kit and told everyone what to expect, some of the guests bravely wondered off.
There were lots of instances of communication via our electronic devices, many different spirits, some young, some old. Some from a long time ago and some from recent times, as they had stated that they were killed in road accidents.
Although virtually no KII EMF activity was seen on any of the KII metres.
Some guests thought they could see shadows in the trees; this is something which occurs frequently at this location.
Using the Spirit box (a device that scans the FM radio stations at 100ms in reverse) a few names were clearly heard, mainly mine but also some of the guest’s names.
After letting the guests wander around with the kit I decided the best way for them to experience paranormal activity is to hold a séance so that they could feel spirit energy move them in some way. We were joined by Christopher, aged in his early 20s, from the 1860s who looked like a farmer as he had very broad shoulders and was of a muscular build, although he had a small round (baby) face and short brown hair.
Christopher was easily able to move my arms and the two people either side of me. Hannah and I had our arms pulled to the ground twice during the séance. Hannah & Charlotte also had their hands moved, but this was gentler than it was with me.
At the end of the séance I conducted an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment and whilst there were several answers to the guests questions, not all of them could be easily understood, the best ones can be heard at:-

Once again a good ghost hunt where the majority of people were able to experience some paranormal behaviour and the snow didn’t interfere with the ghost hunt, just made it cold for us.

Toys Hill and Weardale Manor ghost hunt 1st February 2013
Toys Hill, Kent
This location often surprises us as the best activity has been seen/felt by small groups of people however sometimes (it has happened before) many people in the group have had a paranormal experience, this was one of those times.
We started on the site of the old manor house, this has in the past been very active and on this night it was one of the more active times that I can remember.
After handing out some KII metres and our electronic communication devices things started to happen. Spirit energies were detectable on the KII and various spirits started communicating. I had the feeling that we were joined by a Maid and a Groundsman of the former house.
Many guests saw lights in the nearby woodland very low to the ground and some saw shadows which seem to move as people walked towards the woodlands to take a closer look.
As a group of us were just talking about previous guests’ experiences I noticed a male energy who looked to be a head butler or someone of importance approach us. He was about 55 years old, quite tall at about 5’9” and very well dressed in a three piece suit. He also had a full well trimmed beard and gave me the date at 1914. This particular spirit who wanted to remain nameless provided the guests with lots of answers to their questions and when asked to touch or move people some guests reported feeling a light brushing sensation, as if someone had just walked passed them. Some guests also felt a warming sensation behind their knees. One guest was sure that she felt a physical touch on her back. Other guests reported the feeling of a dog had just brushed past them.
From here we moved into the woodland as there is a particular area which seems to be more active than the rest of the woods. After walking through an extremely muddy section I stopped by a familiar tree and told the guests that this is the area where we would very shortly be holding a séance. After explained what is likely to happen during the séance an older male spirit approximately 70 years old wandered near to us, he seemed grumpy and called me “a daft old bugger”. Just as I was telling this spirit where to go I noticed another much younger male spirit energy approach, this spirit I have seen here before.
His name was Edward and he is in his mid-20s and every time I seem him he is wearing a grey pinned stripped suit with a bowler hat. He seems to have something to do with finance or accountancy, although he never really answers that question.
Asking Edward to move the guests’ arms, he did so very willingly and soon the majority of people had their arms moved. I also asked Edward if he were able to push or sway people and within a matter of minutes many guests were being pushed or pulled backwards much to their surprise.
Once again some people felt a warming sensation on the back of their legs, especially around their knees, whether this coincided with me asking for Edward to push people I don’t know. At one point when asking for Edward to do the same thing to everyone, my side of the circle (about two people either side of me) were all pushed at the same time towards the centre of the circle and then rapidly pulled backwards. This was a very strange sensation. After this Edward decided that some people should be pushed more forcefully or pushed to the ground, however it was a bit muddy and none of us really wanted to touch the ground, it took all our strength to resist.
After this rather physical séance I decided to conclude this session, but asked all the guests to think of a question to ask Edward, the questions and his answers were recorded and out of the nine people present there were seven responses, however only five could be easily understood.

During the séance many guests including me heard the sound of cough, like someone clearly their throat to get attention, although I didn’t see anyone nor heard any footfalls that could explain this sound, it remains anomalous.
As we were leaving the woodland there continued lots of KII EMF activity and lots of communication via electronic equipment.
Once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt and one that many guests enjoyed especially because of the physical nature of the séance and the excellent EVPs that were recorded.
