Fort Amherst ghost hunt 21st March 2015
Chatham. Kent

Location: The Cave
Equipment: Ouija and table tilting.

Session 1 – Group C (VIPs)

We began the session by splitting the group so that some were on the Ouija and the others around the table. As soon as we placed our hands on the table it began to rock gently and the movement gradually got stronger. When requested to do so, spirit tilted the table up onto one leg and did a complete rotation. I came off the table at this point and asked spirit to try and walk the table down the two steps beside us, which it did to the guests amazement. We continued encouraging spirit to walk the table and it continued walking towards the barrels and tried to manoeuvre between two of them. It was a bit of a struggle as there wasn’t much room between them, but spirit seemed very persistent and eventually managed to squeeze the table through! The table then started picking up speed and continued walking down into the tunnel. Kym and I started calling out asking spirit to bring the table back, but the table just kept going! After a while the table did stop walking and started rocking from side to side quite violently as if in protest. It seemed it didn’t want to go back to where we started, and just wanted to keep going! We continued asking spirit to bring the table back and after a while it started walking back up the tunnel, re-tracing its steps, and took the table right back to where we started. The guests were amazed by what they had just experienced.
Sue was with the other guests on the Ouija table and they connected with a male spirit of 71 years, although they were unable to get a name. Sue sensed this man had breathing problems. He was never married, had no children, and he used to do maintenance work at the fort. After giving this information it became clear that he did not wish to communicate further.
The guests then swapped round so the others who were doing the table tilting could try the Ouija, and a male spirit by the name of Alan came through. He was 34 years old and died in 1904 via a gunshot to the head, his right temple. He said he was a civilian and not a soldier, was shot by his friend and was sad that his life had ended so early.
Before our session ended we thought we would try asking spirit if they were able to move one of the large barrels in the same way it had moved the table. So we gathered around one of them and placed our hands on the top and to our amazement the barrel started rocking from side to side, gradually getting faster and making lots of noise. Our time was up after a short time so we thanked spirit for their cooperation and finished the session.

Session 2 – Group A

Unfortunately on this session we didn’t get much activity. The group was split once again, and we had no movement from the glass at all on the Ouija, so a couple of the guests moved over to try the table tilting. There was a slight rocking on the table initially but even with all our encouragement it was difficult to get much more movement than that. Although the table did eventually tilt up on two legs and held this position for a while. The table then moved back to its starting position and there was no more movement. The guests who hadn’t tried the Ouija decided to have a go, and again there was no movement on the glass for quite some time. It was only about 10 minutes before the end of the session that the glass started moving, but we were unable to get any information as spirit only seemed interested in randomly moving the glass around the table.

Session 3 – Group B

Once again at the start of this session there was no movement on the Ouija so the guests decided to try the table tilting. The table took a while to move, but it eventually started to rock gently. The guests were very quiet so I kept urging them to join me in encouraging spirit to move the table. When everyone started to join in, the table started moving faster and spirit seemed to respond better to the noise we made. Whenever everyone went quiet the table would slow down and stop moving. We eventually managed to get spirit to spin the table on one leg and walk the table down the steps.

Explosion Museum ghost hunt – 7th February 2015 (Kerry)

Explosion Museum ghost hunt 7th February 2015
Gosport, Hampshire

Equipment: Ouija and table tilting.
Location: Lab Building

Session 1

I decided to use the upstairs of the building and began the session in the room at the far end of the corridor. We started with the Ouija board and the glass started moving immediately. A female spirit came through who told us her name was Lorraine and aged 56. She died in 1865 and was connected to the building in some way, although we were unable to receive any more information from her. We then connected with a male spirit by the name of Geri. He was 24 and died in 1767. When asked if he knew the other spirit by the name of Lorraine, he said he did and when asked how he died he said he died on a boat that crashed into the harbour along with seven others. A guest then asked how many spirits were in the room, and the glass moved to 8. Geri said the spirits of the other people who died with him were all there in the room with us.
During this we all heard what sounded like a chair being dragged across wooden floorboards downstairs, but there was no one else in the building, no furniture downstairs and no wooden floorboards. The floors were all carpeted. We all found this very strange.
We moved to another room at the top of the stairs to try some table tilting, and the table started moving immediately. A slight rocking to start with, then gradually started moving faster. A guest suggested asking spirit questions via the table so we then established our directions for yes and no responses. We had Geri with us again moving the table. After a while the movements became much stronger and I sensed that a different spirit had taken over. The movements became aggressive and the table started twisting and moving around the room. At one point it was difficult to keep up and a couple of the guests came off the table as it was going too fast. This just left myself and guest, Mary, who sensed that this male energy was not very pleasant. The table then stopped suddenly and we had no more movement. All had gone quiet so we started calling out to see if we would get any noises, and then heard footsteps out in the corridor. When asked if spirit could do that again, we had no response but we did all hear quite a loud hiss and wondered where it had come from.

Session 2

We began in the room at the far end of the corridor and during the Ouija session we contacted two male spirits. The first was Dave, aged 47 who only died within the last five years. He was with his wife in spirit but had a son who was still alive. He told us that he was in the Navy and he worked on the submarines. We then had a spirit by the name of Colin who was 33 years old. He died in 1948 and was in the Marines.
We moved to the other room to try some table tilting and once again we had movement straight away. We had a strong energy with us who was able to manipulate the table with ease. It was moving all around the room, then I asked spirit to walk the table through the door along the corridor and into the room at the end, which it then proceeded to do so. It was quite a narrow corridor and guests found it difficult to move around with the table but they managed to keep their fingertips on it, and it walked right down into the other room and continued spinning and twisting around the room. I then asked spirit to walk the table back again to the room we started from and it did so. The guests all commented how amazing this was. When we were back in the room the table walked over to the window and pushed a guest against it, then gave a couple of nudges as if wanting the guest to move out of the way, which he did. I asked spirit if they were able to touch us and the table responded with a yes. One of the guests said she felt a touch on her hand. I then asked if spirit could pull one of the ladies’ hair and nothing happened at first, then I got a sharp but gentle tug on the back of my hair. All guests present were in front of me and there was no one else in the room.

Session 3

We started again with the Ouija, but unfortunately didn’t get any movement after quite some time trying so decided to try the table instead. It took a while to move but eventually it tilted up on one side and did a half spin then stopped. There were only very slight movements after that but it needed a lot of encouragement.
We tried the Ouija again and got a bit of movement initially, but spirit seemed reluctant to answer questions and all we were able to find out was that the spirit was female and aged 54.

Landguard Fort – 29th November 2014 (Kym)

Thursday, January 8th, 2015

Landguard Fort 29th November 2014
Felixstowe, Suffolk

Area: Mine Room – used to create sea mines
Equipment: Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, Table Tipping

Group C – We started by using the rods and pendulums to communicate with the spirit with us, initially there was a female spirit, aged over 20 years, and had worked here.  Her husband had also worked at the Fort and was with us too.  We tried the table tipping and had some creaks and slight movement.  We were feeling cold touches on our hands.  We also explored the surrounding rooms too.

Group D – Again started with the rods & pendulums, we had a male spirit with us, aged over 100 years!  Not sure if that was true.  He said there were between 15 – 20 spirits with us.  He had worked here in the army in the 1900’s.  He was married with no children.  We then tried the table tipping and this time the table started moving immediately.  It would lift and spin in many different ways.  We were also hearing noises in the room near us, and out in the corridor, we were seeing shadows in the doorway, and continued to hear what sounded like people talking in the room we were in.

Group A – We used the rods & pendulums again to communicate with spirit, and it was the same male spirit that was moving the table previously.  We were hearing noises outside, very loud similar to heavy footsteps.  Tried table tipping and lots of movement as before.

Group B – Using the rods & pendulums as before, and again we had the same male spirit with us.  He said he was in his twenties, and was a British Soldier here at the fort in the 1900’s.  He said his name was Robert.  Again Robert stepped forward to move the table with us, twisting, spinning as before, slow at first, then increasing the speed when asked, and changing direction when asked.  We asked the spirit to ‘walk’ the table to the door, and it did by spinning in different directions.
During the free session i joined several groups of guests, but what did amaze me, and all others that saw, some team and guests had started in an upstairs room table tipping, however the table ‘walked’ out of the room, all round the upstairs areas of the fort, and then finishing by coming down a full flight of stairs.  Pretty incredible!

I absolutely love coming to Landguard Fort, there are always new places to explore, and something different happens every time.

Police Cells Museum – 8th November 2014 (Kym)

Thursday, January 8th, 2015

Police Cells Museum 8th November 2014
Brighton

Area: Men & Women’s Cells
Equipment: Ouija, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums
Group B – We all explored the cells briefly, and one guest felt a finger touch her throat, quite forcefully.  We then all started using the dowsing rods and pendulums to find out which spirits were with us.  One guest felt she had a teenage boy with her aged 17 however when we started using the ouija it was a young boy called Harry aged 7.  He had come here in 1934 with his parent who had been arrested.  He only stayed a short while before taking the glass to goodbye.
We then had another spirit wishing to talk with us.  He was a Prison Warden, from Poland, and had worked here for 5/6 years in 1929.  He was 23 years old with the initials V K.  Asked if he had affected the female guest earlier touching her throat, he said yes.  Asked if he had strangled someone, he said yes but was sorry for what he had done.  Whilst we were all in the cell we heard footsteps in the corridor but no-one there.  We were also feeling cold spots around us in the corridor, and some guests saw a light.
We did explore the ladies cell next door, and as some guests went to walk into the last cell, they felt a cold draught pass them and the flag hanging above the door was swaying.
Group A – Starting with the rods & pendulums we had a male prisoner with us.  We tried the Ouija but no movement.  As one of the guests from the previous group was sensing the name of a spirit in the womens cells we decided to try the Ouija there.  Although we had no movement with the glass, we were feeling cold on our legs and hands touching the glass, feeling tingling sensations in different places, and could smell cigarette smoke.  Lots of creaking and taps under the table too.
Area: Court Room
Equipment: Writing Planchette & Table Tipping
Group B – Guests Lesley, Paula & Louise started with the automatic writing and immediately the pen started moving around the paper.  They had lots of random writing but did get the initial J, and numbers 8 and 0.  We also heard a bell ring near us but couldn’t find anything to identify it.  Meanwhile near the entrance guests Karen, Justin, Paul & Terri started with table tipping.  None of them had tried this before and were literally amazed when the table started moving, more so when I stepped away and left them to it.  They all knew each other so trusted each other not to manipulate the table.  The also took it in turns with just two of them at a time and it still moved on command.  With four of them touching the table they had it spinning on one leg.  I then swapped the groups so they could try both activities, and whilst I was with the four guests doing automatic writing we could all hear heavy footsteps walking around both groups.  We heard one particular loud noise and when I went to investigate it sounded like a big heavy bench sliding across the floor, and when looking one of them was not in line with all the others.  The guests doing the table tipping felt they had a female spirit with them, the table was moving very gently, as if the female spirit was dancing with them.  Just as we were finishing a guests KII started lighting up to red.
Group A – Guests Andrew, Karen & Sue started with the table tipping and had a lovely female spirit with them, possibly the same as the previous session.  She was able to move the table everywhere she was asked, even when all the guests turned their hands palm side up.  With the other group the picture drawn looked like a male fist pointing.  Cold spots were felt and noises heard by all.  I swapped the groups over and just as I was starting with the table tipping Mark was suddenly surprised to see a  shadow behind me.  Both groups again had activity immediately, Christmas trees being drawn on the paper which was relevant to the guests, and the table was spinning a lot, and would continue to rock with just Mark & Katie.
This was a great venue, with fantastic guests, and lots of activity in every session.

Oliver Cromwell’s House – 13th September 2014 (Kym)

Oliver Cromwell’s House ghost hunt 13th September 2014
Ely, Cambridgeshire

Area: Kitchen
Equipment: KII’s, Ghost Pro’s, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, Ouija, Table Tipping

Group A  – As always, just a little bit excited when going to a venue for the first time, and Oliver Cromwell’s house did not disappoint.  Rather than start with the Ouija straight away, I passed around the pendulums and explained how to use them.  Everyone was surprised when their pendulums started moving, and once they knew their movement for yes & no, asked the spirits questions.  One person had a male spirit, the rest of us had female.  We then moved to the Ouija table, and with this being the first time for all the guests, they were thrilled to see the glass moving around.  We had the spirit of a boy aged 7, but he didn’t stay too long before he took the glass to goodbye.  We waited a couple of minutes before the guests wanted to try again.  This time we had a male spirit aged in his 90’s, but not much more movement.  However some guests were feeling hot & cold next to them.  We did try some table tipping, but only received lots of creaks under the table.

Group B – With my second group again we started with dowsing rods & pendulums.  Everyone received movement, and started asking spirit questions.  With my pendulum the spirit was male from the 1700’s, lived here but didn’t work here, and there were 4 spirits in the room with us.  We tried the Ouija table but received no movement on the glass.  Some of the guests spent some time in pairs in the larder area.  We then moved the table in front of the fireplace and tried some table movement.  After a short while the table slid one way (the table had a metal frame, and was easy to move on the ceramic floor).  Then it moved again the other way.  It then moved so it was touching someone’s foot, and seemed to use this stop and lift up on that corner.  I then said the floor is probably too slippery to lift up the other side, and with the spirit not wanting to be outdone, the table started lifting the other side!  With all seven guests’ hands on table, and myself observing, we were all amazed how the table moved very easily around the room.  Often lifting on one corner and spinning around.  Some of the guests were feeling cold spots around them.  We also noticed if I turned my torch off, or a guest that was filming on his camera stopped recording, the table would then start moving faster.  Before the table started moving, we were hearing knocks/bangs in the room.

With the free session I initially joined 3 guests that hadn’t experienced the table tipping earlier, and we were able to see some the table moving.  We asked the spirit some questions by asking the table to be moved one way for yes, and the opposite for no.  The spirit that was with us, and had been moving the table on the earlier session was female, and was known as the ‘lady in blue’.  I then ventured upstairs and with some guests doing some scrying in the mirror, and getting some great results, we went downstairs to the panel room with a Ouija board and glass.  We were all sitting on the benches, and could hear movement in the room all around us.  Of course being in a room full of wood, you will hear noises, so will be unsure of what we were hearing.  However, I did feel someone touching my leg, thinking it was a guest next to me, was surprised when turning on the torch to see he wasn’t near me.  We could feel the glass moving slightly on the Ouija board, but seemed to move a little bit more on the bench without the board.  The guests then wanted to return to the kitchen to try table tipping again, and once more the table started moving around the room in the same way as before.

A fab night !

Rye Castle ghost hunt – 27th August 2014

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Rye Castle ghost hunt 23rd August 2014
Rye, East Sussex

After splitting the guests into two groups, I headed upstairs to the first floor of the Keep, the other headed into the Women’s Tower.

After starting a séance we were joined by a spirit called Paul, who I described as being a local rogue, aged in his late 30s and of a large build, shaven head and a scar on his left cheek.

There was also a young spirit of a soldier who did not interact with us.

During the séance the guests had their arms moved and were gently pushed and pulled. A couple of occasions the people either side of me were pulled to the floor.

Towards the end of the session I noticed an older female spirit had entered the room and at this point Ted (the Museum Guide) had to leave the room as he said he felt odd.

The second group experienced some more arm movement; lots more than the first group although there was no pushing or being pulled to the floor.

During the séance we all heard some odd noises and saw strange lights within the room that upon investigation we could not find any explanation for these oddities.

After this we all headed into the garden (the old exercise yard) to do an experiment with a Spirit Box (a device that scans the FM radio frequencies in reverse at 100ms). Many of our questions we all heard an intelligent answer.

Some of the guests after this session held Glass and Table tilting sessions, other ventured on their own throughout the Keep to try their hand at ghost hunting and to take photos.

This was once again a very enjoyable ghost hunt with all the guests experiencing paranormal activity in some form.

Charlton House ghost hunt – 3-5-2014 (Sue)

Saturday, June 7th, 2014

Charlton House Saturday 3rd May 2014
Greenwich, London

This was our first visit to this amazing location and I was very impressed by the beauty of this magnificent building. I was based in the library which had formerly been a chapel.

1st Vigil Group B
We started our vigil in the downstairs part of the library. We could immediately sense the presence of a spirit gentleman who was stood watching us from the back of the room. He had a stern personality and was approx 56years of age.  We started by using the Ouija board but only had a little movement on the glass. Our sprit gentleman was causing the ghost pro to light up red but he wasn’t willing to answer any of our questions. Both a female guest and myself see at the same time, a female spirit run across the length of the upstairs room on the left hand side. This female spirit was approx 23yrs old with long blond hair, she was wearing a long dress and seemed as if she was running from someone but who it was she was running from we never established.
We decided to move upstairs and try some table tipping. The table moved the whole length of the library but glided rather than spun. Through out the night the table continued to move and was very active. The ghost pros continued to flash to red and we did get answers to some of our questions. The thing that got us most was the extreme temperature changes. Even when stood in front of the radiator that was ON we kept getting cold spots and a lot of the guests were getting cold breezes across their face and hands. We felt as if we were being watched again but as soon as we went upstairs it felt like the spirits had gone downstairs and when we were downstairs it was as if the spirits had gone upstairs. For the final 15 minutes we decided to go back downstairs and all spread out on the chairs. I began calling out and asking spirit to interact with us and make a noise. We heard several loud noises. The sound of a loud tin/metal sound but we couldn’t find anything in the room that had possibly made this noise. A chair sounded like it had been dragged and did actually move slightly. A lot of the guests were getting tingling in their hands and fingers and one female guest said she had been pushed in the back. For some reason all the men said they felt quite and subdued but they couldn’t explain why they felt like this but everyone was aware they were being watched.

2nd Vigil Group C
My team member Carl joined us for our second vigil. We started off downstairs with the Ouija board and the glass began to move straight away and also the ghost pro light up red to indicate spirit was with us. A guest and I could smell a chemical type smell and also smelt a sick smell. Shortly afterwards we began talking via the Ouija board to a nurse called Anne she wouldn’t give us her age. Anne said she had been a nurse here in 1942, Anne never had any children but she had been raped by a gentleman called Jack Parr who was 28yrs old. The guests kept looking over their shoulder to the far end of the room. It was the gentleman spirit from the 1st vigil staring at us. We went upstairs and the guests did some table tipping. I had moved the table into the larger space at the far end. The table did not move as quickly as it had on the first session but it gently rocked from side to side. The table tipping continued with some good results. Some of the guests that were not doing table tipping were looking over the balcony to the downstairs part of the room and said they felt like someone downstairs was watching us. We all moved downstairs but Carl (team) stayed upstairs so he could film us by putting camera on the balcony and looking down at us. We all took a seat downstairs and began calling out to spirit. We heard footsteps several times and a noise came from upstairs behind Carl. A female guest screamed as she had looked round and thought she had seen someone sitting next to her. Another guest said she had seen a shadow of a man. As Carl came down the stairs we all heard footsteps behind him. Again everyone said they had the feeling of being watched. Several female guests said they had been touched on the hand or had tingling sensations and also people noticed the sudden temperature changes.

3rd Vigil Group A
My team member Kerry joined us for the 3rd session. Again we started on the Ouija and straight away the spirits were communicating with us on the board and answering our questions.  One female guest felt very light-headed and sick and had to move away from the Ouija and a male guest suddenly got a nose bleed. We decided as some guests were being affected we would go upstairs and do table tipping and Kerry remained downstairs with the other guests and continued on the Ouija board as they was getting good information. Upstairs five guests were having very good results with the table tipping and spinning and moving from one end of the room to the other. Three male guests asked to use the bigger heavy table to see if the same thing would happen. All five guests started using the bigger heavier table and the results were the same with the table moving etc. The three male guests were not convinced that the table moving was real, so I suggested that just the three of them take the table to the opposite end of the room and try it with just the three of them. Kerry stayed with the remaining guests and they were also having great results with the table. I and the three male guests went to the opposite end of the room and to the guests amazement the table moved in the same way as it had before with just the three of them on it. I was stood their just shinning my torch so they could see where they were going. They were shocked and said “how can that happen?” “We must do something to the table to make it happen”. I said would you like me to go away and leave them alone, they said that they would like this. So I moved to the opposite end of the room. Within a few minutes I could hear their table being moved, so I shouted out is your table moving? They shouted back “yes we can’t believe it”. I went back to the three male guests and they said “how is it possible?” They turned the table upside down put their torches on and looked all over the table to see if they was anything we attach to the table to make it move. Obviously they couldn’t find anything attached and they asked what kind of table was it, to which I replied it’s a table that’s £9.99 from Argos!
The other guests were all having a good time but the session had come to an end.

It was now free time and the guests can now explore anywhere they like in the building and have full use of our equipment. The three male guests that had not been convinced by the table tipping asked if they could use a different table and see what would happen. I gave them a different table and they went off to a different part of the building. I later caught up with them and they were in a different room with just of the three of them table tipping. They were now convinced that table tipping is real and does really happen and were quite amazed. I explored the long room and several other rooms including the basement.

Charlton house is a huge beautiful building. I cannot wait to come back as I feel there is a lot more to be discovered. So many noises have been heard through out the night and the constant feeling of being watched and sudden temperature changes. The young lady I see running who or what was she running from? I cannot wait to come back and find out.

Special Thanks to all the guests.

Oliver Cromwell’s House ghost hunt – 5-4-2014

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

Oliver Cromwell’s House ghost hunt 5th April 2014
Ely, Cambridgeshire

This was the first ghost hunt that we have undertaken at Oliver Cromwell’s House and as a team had no idea what to expect from the night. I had previously visited in the day time albeit months previously and had my suspicions about which rooms would be eventful, fortunately those rooms and some others we had some great paranormal occurrences.

On this particular evening I wasn’t feeling too well and because the groups were smaller I decided that I would join in with other groups rather than hold my own sessions.

The first session I joined in with Sue and Carl (GHE team) in one of the bigger rooms, lots of communication was apparent from our electronic devices although little of no KII (EMF) energy was seen on the meters.

When Sue held scrying sessions in the mirror in the room various people who tried this saw their faces change as did the people who were watching.

The second session I joined in with Sue and Kerry (GHE team) and after I scared Kerry by entering a different door to get the Study we settled down with a séance. There were some gentle movements and swaying felt by some people, but since I wasn’t part of the séance I spent the time describing the spirit energies that I could see. In this room there was a Mayor or a very important person. He was dressed in a black suit, aged in his mid to late 50s and generally was a quiet man.

From here we moved into the Bedroom and this time I joined in the séance circle. Some slight arm movement was felt between the people either side of me and we all heard some odd noises. One of the noises sounded like the radiator cooling down, but after asking the staff about the heating, they told us that the heating had not been on all day and thus should not have been making any noise.

The third session I joined in the séance with Jo (GHE team) as I was feeling better and felt that I could cope with the physical movement that would undoubtedly occur. This time we started in the Bedroom and we were joined by a male spirit called Peter who had passed away relatively recently, I was given the year 1980 and he had passed away in a Motorcycle RTA (Road Traffic Accident) on the road outside Oliver Cromwell’s House.

Peter proceeded to lift the hands of the guests and push and pull us. This is exactly what I had asked for and when Peter got the hang of doing this several of the guests were intertwined with each other. Others were dragged by their arms across the room and other guests had their hands moved in rather painful ways.

Once the movements stopped we moved in the adjoining Study where cold spots and draughts were felt although no-one could work out where the draughts were coming from as the majority of us were sitting on the floor and we couldn’t work out how a draught could be felt if someone was sitting next to the person who felt the cold spot or draught when that person couldn’t.

Several odd noises were also heard in this room and one of the noises sounded like the candle sticks being moved as it sounded like metal on a stone floor. However we don’t know and it may be possible for us to check this sound on the video that was recorded in the room.

The other sessions with table tilting and Ouija boards which were held in the downstairs rooms were very successful with lots of movements and in the case of the Ouija board lots of useful communications were received by the guests.

All in all a very enjoyable ghost hunt and a location that we hope to return to in the future.

Fort Horsted ghost hunt – 15-3-2014 (Kym)

Friday, March 21st, 2014

Fort Horsted ghost hunt 15th March 2014
Chatham, Kent

This was a very different investigation, whereby at the start of each session the guests choose where they wanted to go based on which team were doing in that area.

For my first session myself and Sue went to Area 10 doing Ouija boards.  We had two tables set up and four guests went on one, the other three went on the other.  The object of this session was to try and get spirit to do similar things on each table.  Of course that is when both glasses are moving.  Eventually this did happen but it was two different spirits who were unwilling to co-operate together.  Gavin (guest) started feeling very angry and had to leave the area.  He told us later that he could see an old man with a white beard who was very angry with what we were doing, Gavin felt like he wanted to pick up and throw the glass.

On the other table the spirit was very willing to communicate, telling us they were female, age 45, spelt her name as Miles, and was from Hungary in 1785.  She was not connected to the fort or the area, and had chosen to come because she wanted to, and we were here.  One of the guests asked if she was connected to anyone here, answered yes.  When asking to take the glass to that person it moved towards me who was filming.  I asked if I knew her in a previous life, answered yes.  I asked how many lives she had lived, answered 39.

Sue was in one of the side rooms with guests, and they all heard what sounded like a large dog barking, however we hadn’t heard it in the corridor.  At the end of the night a group of three guests came back from that area and reported they had heard a dog barking, surprisingly they wasn’t aware we had heard that earlier.

For my second session I was with Carl in the Hanging Room.  This was to be a lone session, whereby the guests had the opportunity to spend some time on their own if wanted.  We started with all six of us in the room together.  Three of the guests were using Hearing Enhancers.  I had a KII which lit up several times.  I saw a flash of white light on the stairs at the same time as all of us heard three footsteps in the room.  Two guests and Carl who were in this room before said that was what happened earlier.  We turned on the Spirit Box and Ovilus, and requested spirit give the same word on each device.  We had some words on the Ovilus but nothing relevant, however we did receive the following words on the Spirit Box; female “help”, female “Carl”, female “hello”, male “hello”.  Near the start of this session Gavin (guest) had a voice recorder positioned on a tripod at the top of the stairs, and very quickly the battery died.  When returning to base, to his surprise he had nearly a full battery again.

We then asked if the guests wanted some time in the room alone, so I took Emily and Gavin downstairs, whilst the girls stayed with Carl.  Gavin & Emily using the Ghost Pro had a male soldier with them.  Upstairs the girls and Carl were asking spirit to affect the new kit Carl had.  It was a Rempod positioned at the top of the stairs on a tripod.  It would light up when someone touched it or the tripod.  It reacted to vibration not sound or movement.  We could hear them very excited when the lights started going off.  With that 10 minutes had elapsed so we swapped the guests.  Again I was downstairs and we could hear the lights were still going off, so we finished the session with all of us in the room.  And still with much encouragement from all of us the lights continued to be activated.

With my third session I returned to the Hanging Room with Sue for a Ouija session.  We had eight guests, so four went on each table.  We had movement on both tables, but again couldn’t get spirit to do anything similar on each table.  However the spirits that came through on both tables were connected to people there, bringing great sadness and joy to those there.

For my fourth and final session I returned to Area 10 with Jeff & Julie (guests).  We had some movement with the glass, and with the spirit confirming on the ghost pro they wanted to do some table tipping, all we had was some creaking under the table, and very slight movement.

A fun night, with everyone having the opportunity to do something different – guests and team!

Theatre Royal ghost hunt – 18-1-2014 (Kym)

Theatre Royal ghost hunt, Margate 18th January 2014

Area: Third floor of auditorium

Equipment: Writing Planchette, glass on table, table tipping, Ghost Pro, KII, Dowsing Rods & Pendulums

Was looking forward to this venue very much, had missed last years and had always wanted to do a ghost hunt in a theatre.  The amount of energies to have visited or worked here would be many, and for us tonight this proved correct, as each session Sue (GHE team) & I held, different spirits came through each time to talk to us.

With our first group we showed guests how to use the equipment, and let them choose what they wanted to try first.  Four guests who had been on ghost hunts before went to the top seats with equipment.  The remainder tried the rods & pendulums, with some trying some glass work.  The pendulums moved a little, the glass had some slight vibration.  The four at the top asked if anyone was in the room behind them as they could hear talking, but no-one was there.  Some of these guests were feeling coldness around them, with one person having a cold blow in her ear.  They had also had a lot of KII activity, and the ghost pro informed them they had a female spirit with them who was a cleaner at the theatre.  One male guest went to sit at the top on the opposite side, using the dowsing rods.  Shortly after he came down very pleased, he had been communicating with a female spirit using the rods, and had smelt perfume around him.  Sue, who had been communicating with a spirit using the ghost pro, asked spirit if they would like to try some table tipping.  With a positive response she & two guests tried this.  After several creaks from the table frame, the table started lifting very gently.  With a few lifts Sue asked spirit to answer some questions lifting the table one way for yes, and the opposite way for no.  We established the spirit was female, in her 40’s, from the 1960’s, betrayed by a lover, hurt emotionally, worked at the theatre, was married with children, but had an affair with a man.  This man was still alive and working at the theatre, and she was still looking for him.  She committed suicide by hanging herself, but not at the theatre.  She didn’t mean to die, it was a cry for help.  Sue & guest were feeling a coldness to their side, and the other guest on the table felt pins & needles all down her arm, which stopped at her wedding finger – was this connected to the female spirit.  Meanwhile other guests were continuing to use the pendulums, requesting spirit move to their request, which always surprised them, especially when the pendulum was swaying, looking like someone was tapping the chain.

With our second group, I started with the rods & pendulums and had lots of movement.  We then tried the writing planchette and had movement immediately.  Much was drawn but nothing eligible, so I removed the pen & paper, and used the planchette for spirit to move around the table, hopefully answering some questions.  We asked spirit many questions, move planchette to oldest person on the table, person with child, person(s) with pets, person with a motorbike, person who didn’t drive, person who lived nearest to this theatre – all with positive responses.  We asked spirit to draw a square – which it did, then could the spirit draw a large square all around the table, and to our surprise the planchette went off the table and moved around the edge.  We also asked spirit to lift the planchette a couple of times – which it did.  The guests then explored the top area and reported no talking in the room behind, but lots of KII activity, and pendulum moving.

Meanwhile Sue was with two female guests, using the glass on the table.  They had a male spirit age 56 years old, had a daughter aged seven who was run over & killed, he had never gotten over her death.  He had another daughter still living age 18 years old, and one of the guests reminded him of his daughter.  This gentleman was a Scaffolder & married.  He had passed within the last 10 years, and visited the theatre because it reminded him of happy times with his children.  The second spirit that joined them was also male, and had passed in the last 10 years.  He raced greyhounds at the dog track in Margate.  He was an actor at the theatre and had died of natural causes.  We asked him to draw his first initial with the glass – V.  We felt his name was Victor, and he confirmed this was correct.  We also asked him to draw his age – 83.  Then a female spirit came through, this was the same female from our first session who had been lifting the table.  She moved the table slightly, however one guest felt a similar sensation to an earlier guest, tingling down her hand to her wedding finger.  And cold spots were felt around them when the female spirit was present.

With the third group we started with the rods & pendulums, and they started moving.  Myself and two guests started using the writing planchette, it started moving almost immediately, with the letter v drawn twice – was this Victor, or one guest thought it could be a female spirit called Vera.  With nothing more being drawn we again removed the paper & pen, and used the planchette to communicate.  As it was moving without me I left the two guests using this to ask many questions.  Sue was using the glass on table, and the spirit of Victor had joined them again, he had drawn his initial V on the table, and seemed to want to just have fun by drawing lots of shapes at request.  The guests explored area with kit before ending the controlled sessions, and starting the free session.

Sue & I had enjoyed this ghost hunt immensely, feeling the many spirits that joined us wanted to tell their story, and give us all evidence of their existence.  A wonderful theatre – can’t wait to return.
