Pilgrims Way Woods ghost hunt – 10th August 2012

The last time that I investigated this particular woods was several months ago and I had forgotten how steep the hill is to get to the woods since there is no easy way to get to these woods from either end. After we made our way up the hill, (which gave everyone more exercise than they were anticipating) and onto the disused road of Pilgrims Way I started to explain what had occurred here before and what sort of things the guests could expect, as we (Ghost Hunt Events) do not intend to scare our customers and what we do isn’t designed to be scary, but nevertheless people might get scared because of the location.

After entering the woods and finding a suitable place to sit against a tree I gave the guests some of our kit (a KII meter and a ghost communicator) to allow them to see when spirit energies were close to them and so that they may ask questions that have a yes or no answer.

A female energy joined us, her name was Charlotte and she was aged in her late 50s or early 60s. It transpired from the questions the guests asked that she was not from Kent and had no children nor married. When I asked whether she was here because we were she answered “Yes”. Which isn’t a great surprise to me as this often happens, spirit not related to the location often visit just to participate in whatever we are doing. When people ask why the most common answer is because they can.

There was also a male energy present, although his name I couldn’t understand but it sounded similar to Frank but could have been Framke which might be Swedish? He was in his late 50s and a stocky build and was a farmer.

The guests also questioned this spirit for some time as well as Charlotte. During the periods of questioning there were high levels of KII activity, as if spirit were walking amongst us.

Some of the guests also took photographs at this time and some had photographed light anomalies or orbs, but nothing more interesting than this.

I tried using my SB7 (a Spirit box – which is a device that scans radio waves at 100ms in reverse, so any voices we hear on this we can be sure that it is not being broadcast.) There were possibly a number of names called out on this device and a possible “Hello” but unfortunately there was a lot of radio stations and the usual static was interspersed with lots of snippets of music.

I decided that we should hold a séance so that all the guests would hopefully feel the spirit energies and be affected in some way. Almost as soon as we started there was a very bright white light flash behind where we were standing, which lit up the woods. It was similar to a very powerful camera flash, although no-one took a photo (as we were all holding hands) and there is nothing nearby that could cause this. This was the only time all evening that we saw this.

A male energy came to join us, his name was Timothy. He was 22 years old wearing modern clothing, possibly from 1970s era. He was of a slim build and had ginger hair and fair skin. As I asked him to push the guests I heard him announce to me (no one else heard it) who he was attempting to move or manipulate.

First he pushed Tia (guest) gently from side to side and then in an anticlockwise circle movement, which Tia found a little odd. Timothy then moved on to Natalie (guest) and she too was pushed from side to side and then in the same anticlockwise pattern. As I could see him move around the group I knew exactly who was likely to be next but thought better of announcing it as it would be a greater surprise to the guest when it happened. Suddenly Dawn (guest) too felt as if she had lost her balance and fell backwards, like someone had bumped into her, which surprised her. Both Tia and Natalie were still be moved when Dawn again felt another jolt backwards.

Tia also was pushed forwards and backwards much to her amazement as she was trying to keep still but Timothy was having none of that!

As we were about to finish the séance we all heard a loud noise quite close to us, it sounded like someone had stood on a twig and it had snapped. Since there was no wind and no animal heard rustling this noise was unexpected and anomalous.

After the séance I conducted an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment, where I asked all the guests to think of a question to ask Timothy, the more personal a question the more likely the spirit will respond.

After the guests asked their respective question I played the recording back and during this I noted that some of the questions had answers, on the second play of the experiment I pointed out where I heard the possible answers and also we all heard a very distinct “Hello” after I said my name to Timothy. Considering there were 6 guests and myself this was a very successful EVP experiment, with only one person not having a response after their question.

This concluded our ghost hunt at Pilgrims Way Woods and this is one ghost hunt which will be repeated in the future mainly to see whether we get as many or similar clarity of EVPs as we don’t often get more than one or two per investigation.

Once again the guests thoroughly enjoyed their ghost hunt and we made the long walk back to the cars but thankfully the walk was all downhill.

Bicknor Church and Woods ghost hunt – 3-8-2012

Bicknor Church & Woods ghost hunt – 3rd August 2012

Every time we come here for a ghost hunt something different and interesting happens, either in the woods or near the church. This time however we had both.

Around the back of the church (in a field), which on previous occasions has been the scene of some very unusual and paranormal activity, we came across a female energy who would not tell us any personal information, but according to our communication devices we were standing on her grave.

Some unusual noises and whistles were also heard by the guests and the Ghost Hunt Events team.

Also whilst sat here we used the Ovulus and some words were heard in response to guests questions. There was also a very high level of KII activity as if the energy was walking to and fro from the church. Using our SB7 (a spirit box, which scans the radio frequencies in reverse at 100ms) we all heard “Hello” spoken.

Several of the questions asked were recorded for possible ghost voices (EVPs – Electronic Voice Phenomena) and there are some excellent spirit voices recorded. You can hear them at:-

As we were walking away from the car park, Stuart & Donna (guests) heard a sound which made them catch up with the rest of us, Stuart described the sound as being a metallic clanking sound, not like keys, but something heavier.

We then made our way into the woods, which were as usual very quiet with a distinct lack of animal sounds, which makes hearing any noises that much easier. There was also no wind to speak of either.

After setting up a laser grid pointing along the path, many people noticed that some of the lights were being blocked as if someone was walking across the path. Many guests felt unstable on their feet and several complained of swaying which was unusual because the path is generally flat.

Also in this spot there were brief periods of high KII activity. Whilst Carl & Marc (Ghost Hunt Events team members) carried out an EVP experiment, I walked further down the path to find a particular spot which on a previous occasion proved to be a rather active place and one in which many of the guests present felt uncomfortable as well as very high levels of spiritual and ghostly activity.

After walking the guests to the spot that I had just come from we held a séance to try to get the spirit energies that were present to physically move the guests.

We were joined by two energies, one a male energy called Roy who was 67 year old and a local farmer and Francis who was female and about 30 years old.

Gentle arm movement was felt by Wendy, Lloyd, Bradley and Stuart (guests) and when I asked for the energies present to push some guests Andy, me, Lloyd and Bradley all felt some gentle pushing. Several of the guests also noted that they thought they could see shadows moving within the woods.

During the séance and afterwards Andy was being drawn to an area to the right of where we stood, he kept looking in that direction during the séance and after we finished he had the urge to go to that area. When he got there he felt cold (it was a warm night) and also nauseous. Andy then called me over to see if it was just him. It wasn’t. I too did not feel right in this spot and although I cannot describe exactly how I felt, my head did not feel right, like I had just been shaken violently.

At this point Andy had to leave as he was feeling ill, the nausea had got too much. The rest of the group came over and with the communication device we established that this particular spot had been the site of a murder. The energy that was causing all the feelings was a male energy about 14-16 years old and he had been strangled and his body buried in the woods. He did not, or was not able to give a year and the audio recording from this area revealed no voices. Unfortunately the feelings I felt had got the better of my and I too had to leave the area as I was feeling the same sensations that Andy felt. Just before I left the area Donna, Stuart & Wendy all had a metallic taste, which is usually the taste of blood, they too felt the coldness and we all heard voices and footfalls in the direction of the path. But since I had to leave none of them wanted to stay there!

Carl also decided that he would investigate the area, but after a few minutes he too came back and reported that he tasted blood and said that the area did not feel right.

We decided that this was probably a good time to stop the investigation and made our way back to the Church.

Once again a very active and enjoyable ghost hunt with plenty of activity and some very clear EVPs (ghost voices) recorded.

Wychling Woods ghost hunt – 13th July 2012

Wychling woods (Kent) is known for its weirdness, strange things happen here, every time we have been in the woods, odd and strange things have happened either to the guests one by one, or to the whole group en mass.

We may have been tempting fate to be here on Friday 13th, but that only counts if you are superstitious! We aren’t.

Our first session was in a familiar part of the woods, this area has in the past been very productive and many paranormal occurrences have taken place. This evening was no different. We started by just calling out for spirit to step forward, there was a high level of KII activity and plenty of communication from spirit via our communication device. Whilst this was going on one guest (who has been on various ghost hunts many times) jumped and exclaimed that he had just heard a footstep beside him, no-one else heard it. As we continued strange whistles were heard, sometimes in response to our whistles but many were not. Then out of the blue we all heard footsteps approaching from deeper in the woods, which given the nature of these woods (it is very thick with trees) it seemed very unlikely especially since we saw no torch light and the sound of these footsteps only lasted for about 30 seconds.

From this point on many of the guests were feeling frightened and on edge and the smallest amount of noise made them all jumpy. All of the guests huddled, whereas I moved freely around them, not feeling at all scared and without a torch (as I have very good night vision). All of the guests said that they all felt spooked and that they had the feeling that something was about to happen, many guests also reported that they felt watched and all reported at different times the feeling of their jackets or legs being touched.

We continued, and I started my SB7 (Spirit box) which is a device that scans radio waves at 100ms in reverse, so any voices we hear on this we can be sure that it is not being broadcast. Asking for the spirit energies present to use the device to say their name or any of the guests names. Within a few minutes we all heard two of the guests name spoken clearly via the device.

This did not help any of the guests feel more relaxed and whilst very little happened of a paranormal nature all the guests were now standing back to back as they were all feeling on edge and all commented that they felt a sense of dread. As I moved closer to them I too could feel a slight feeling of being watched although not of the same intensity.

After a few minutes all the guests exclaimed that this strange feeling just lifted and they all felt comfortable in the woods. What caused this feeling I could not tell.

Our second session was on the other side of the woods in an area which has previously been another area of much paranormal activity, although since my last visit I had some problems locating it as the path had overgrown with weeds, after much stomping about I finally found the right area.

Here we were met by a female energy called Elizabeth who was aged in her late 20s and she told me she was a Land Girl during the Second World War. Elizabeth also answered many questions via our communication devices although very little was audible on the SB7. KII activity however was very high. There was little photographic evidence from the night, apart from in this area where several light anomalies (spirit orbs) were photographed.

Once again an unusual ghost hunt, but one where even the guests who had thought they had experienced everything on a ghost hunt felt like it was their first time ghost hunting.

South Foreland Lighthouse ghost hunt – 29-6-2012

South Foreland Lighthouse ghost hunt – 29th June 2012

Last years ghost hunt at South Foreland lighthouse was excellent however the weather in October was a little bit windy so we were hoping for a better day for June 2012 and because of the tine of year we were able to see France with ease and much of the coastline of Kent as well as the infamous Goodwin Sands where many ships have sunk over the years.

Fortunately due to the location there weren’t any noises apart from an occasional announcement from Dover docks which was carried on the wind to interfere with our investigation.

After a brief history and tour of the building from the National Trust representative the majority of the group headed into the lower ground floor room, as this was the only room which was completely dark, however myself and Carl (team member) remained outside of this room as we were conducting a special EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment. The difference being that both Carl & I were wearing our respective hearing amplification equipment which meant that whilst we could hear the other group clearly we could also conduct our own quiet recordings without interrupting the other group.

During this session many bangs and tapping sounds heard by both of us were heard. These all sounded like someone on the floor above us but no-one was on that floor. We also heard whispers and voices which once again sounded like someone above us. I however had the sensation that my shirt was being pulled out from behind me, but I did not sense any spirit present at that time, although the other group had asked the spirit with them to do something to either of us. (Their report will follow).

When the group had finished in the lower ground floor, myself & Carl ventured into that room, as soon as I took two steps into the room I felt an amazing amount of pain in my right knee, it felt like someone had just kicked my knee. The rest of the group found this very funny as they had asked the spirit that was present to do that to another guest. I had trouble walking for a couple of hours and it hurt every time I went up or down a step.

The second session was held in the Control room of the lighthouse; a female energy called Elizabeth came forward and told us that she lived in the lighthouse with her husband who was a keeper. During this session many bangs and knocking was heard by everyone. Marc (team member) went to investigate one of the knocks as it sounded like the outside door and although we were sure it was locked he went to check. As soon as he was outside the room he exclaimed to himself that it felt odd, although we could clearly here him. He later explained that the atmosphere on that part of the staircase felt strange and stagnant.

Our third session was once again split; some guests followed me into the lower ground floor and others onto the upper ground floor and control room. We were joined by a male energy called Timmy Sullivan who was about 17 or 18 years old and he presented himself as being a simple person. He had dark short hair and was very slim or skinny and about 5’9”. He gave the year of his passing as 1891.

Lots of audible noises were then heard by everyone present, some of the noises sounded like a clock (although there were no clocks in the room) and then just as I thanking Timmy for making a noise we all heard an extremely loud crack right behind me, what this was I have no idea, because nothing in the room was on (there were electrical meters and general lighthouse workings behind me). Tapping on the metallic objects in the room also were repeated back to us as were whistles.

One of the guests who was sitting in a chair felt uncomfortable, so she moved to the other side of the room. This corresponds with a male energy who had turned up, he was 55 years old and basically came in swearing at us, although I was the only person who could hear him, but the guests present felt the atmosphere change. Many more noises were heard including a very loud bang which occurred right in front of me. From this point on one of the team entered the room and sat in the chair that the female guest had sat in and within a few minutes he too wasn’t feeling well and had to leave the room. One of the female guest also left the room as she was frightened.

I then conducted a series of EVP experiments, during which a number of noises continued, mostly it sounded like someone tapping on the metallic objects in the room.

Fort Horsted ghost hunt – 9-6-2012 (One)

Fort Horsted ghost hunt – 9th June 2012

It is always a fantastic experience for our guests and ourselves when we investigate Fort Horsted in Chatham, Kent. We have had some amazing experiences at the Fort and every time something new or different happens much to our delight. This time was no different.

After splitting the whole group into two smaller groups, both groups set off in opposite directions so that we knew that we could not hear each other and therefore any noises heard by either group was not our own doing. As the Fort is a horse shoe shape noise travels in the corridors very easily.

My first group set off to the furthest part of the Fort in an area which we have had some great experiences. All the guests had time to play with our equipment although there wasn’t a lot of KII activity. We did however have some very good activity on our communication device. I was aware of a male energy called Tomas (pronounced Thomas) although I could only see his face, he seemed to be of Mediterranean descent as he had olive skin, dark hair and dark eyes and rough shaven. He was about 30 years old and passed in the early 1980s. Although I do not know what his link with the Fort was. Tomas gave the majority of the people a push during the séance we held. Some guests also reported a sensation that they were being pushed downwards and felt a pressure on their shoulders. Tomas also moved the arms of myself, Donna, Steve and Kerry as we were all together and Stuart although felt no arm movement, did get pushed a lot.

Whilst the séance was taking place we all heard some very loud whispering and mumbling as well as the sound of footsteps approaching us. Paul (Business Development Manager) thought that the sound had to be a person and set off to investigate the sounds. He didn’t find anyone until he came across the other group, who were exactly where they were supposed to be. Therefore the noises we heard of people approaching are anomalous. I also set up a Geo phone (a device that visually shows noises) at the corner of a tunnel away from us but close enough so that if a noise was detected the lights on this device would light up so that we could see and hear the noise. This device lit up many times and some of the guests also reported seeing shadows and dark shapes move in the same corridor.

From here we moved into the very long and extremely dark tunnel which has proved to be eventful on previous occasions. This time though just about everyone felt an oppressive feeling that made them want to leave, but not on their own!

After short break I returned to this same area with the other group, once again there was little or no KII EMF activity but some good spirit communication from our electronic equipment. Many of the guests were very scared, not just because of the complete darkness but mainly because we heard very similar noises to our first session; mumblings, whispers and footsteps. A female energy called Alice made herself known to me. She was a Nurse in WWI, aged about 19 years old and was approximately 5’6” and had long brunette hair.

I suggested to some guests to put their hand out so that they could feel Alice, many reported pins and needles in their hands, although one guest actually felt a real touch which scared her witless. Other guests could also smell a fruity fragrance which they said did not smell like perfume. This has been reported before in this part of the Fort from our previous events. Many guests also felt cold spots and shivers which was not related to the weather as there was not a breeze within this part of the Fort. Taking the group into the long tunnel did not result in them feeling the same as the previous group. This time the atmosphere felt completely different.

After this session we allowed our guests to roam to some extent. They were able to go to any area of the Fort with us on a supervisory role. Many guests chose to go to the most interesting part of the Fort; the double casement.

I on the other hand took a small group of people to an area which a) has never been investigated before and b) it was an area that I wasn’t supposed to be in. Curiosity however led me here.

Since I have never been to this area before I did not know what to expect, although spirit joined us very quickly. A male energy whose name remains a mystery because he wouldn’t tell me approached us. He looked like a sailor not dissimilar to Captain Birdseye, however he was a carpenter who hand extremely large hands (he was generally quite a stocky built man) and smoked a pipe. When asking for this spirit to repeat a noise we were not disappointed, just about every noise we made we heard a response, although they were quiet responses we have recorded some of the whistles. We also heard footsteps from the staircase and other noises which sounded similar to stones being thrown.

We also heard several bangs and taps in response to our requests and a general mumbling sound, which due to where we were could not have been anyone else talking.

Whilst in this area I undertook several EVP recordings. The best is below and I commented at the time that I heard something, although not as clear as the recording.

Once again a very exciting and enjoyable ghost hunt and one which our guests thoroughly enjoyed although disappointed that we had to finish at 2.0am. The six hours according to most of the guests had just flown by.

Pluckley Woods ghost hunt 3-6-2012

Pluckley Woods ghost hunt – 3rd June 2012

This was a private ghost hunt for a small group within Pluckley woods, considering the amount of rain that we had endured the night before (See our report from Toys Hill & Weardale Manor ghost hunt – 2nd June 2012) I was hoping that the rain would not hinder us this evening. Fortunately the woods at Pluckley offer greater protection from the elements as the trees are taller and generally leafier.

When we arrived there was another large group of people heading out of the woods, I can only assume that they had been doing what we were about to do; ghost hunting.

After making our way deep into the woods one of the group felt that he was being followed and watched, as we made our way along one of the larger paths he kept looking and searching with his torch behind him.

Once we had stopped on a particular favourite part of the woods of mine, the feeling from the group was that they too felt as if they had been followed. Several photographs taken by the guests had some very unusual purple mists in them. It wasn’t a misty night, rain was expected but it wasn’t raining at the time, although it had rained throughout the day.

A male energy joined us and was able to answer some simple questions via one of our ghost communication devices, although this energy would not talk to me nor tell me his name. Also the KII meter was showing signs of a high level of EMF energy.

During this period I was trying to get the spirit energy to interact with the guests and stand close to them, so that they could feel the energy. Grant (guest) wandered off on his own a few yards and when I informed him that the spirit energy was close to him and he should ask the energy to stand near to him. Grant felt a strange pins & needles sensation throughout his body much to his amazement and surprise.

From here we walked further down the path to a favourite location of mine (it was in this location that I – and the group – heard the famous female scream on a previous ghost hunt). At this location we were joined by Terry who was 52 years old and via the communicator told us that he was a Butcher. He was quite short (5’6”) and stocky in build, wearing a white vest and brown flannel trousers. He also sported a mostly bald head. Once again Grant was able to feel his energy at times, as he now wanted to recreate the feeling that he had encountered earlier. According to Grant there was a certain amount of warmth to this energy as it felt much warmer when Terry was standing near Grant.

At this time I also started using my SB7 (Spirit Box) this scans the radio frequencies at 100ms intervals and to rule out actually hearing something that is being broadcast the scan is run in reverse. So we can be sure that if we hear any voices they are not being broadcast on the radio. Nothing was heard that was audible at this time, although it had started to rain.

We moved further along the same pathway to an area which I don’t often visit, because this is at the very edge of the woods and it is an exposed location however the spirit energies had followed us and were making themselves known by affecting the group, some felt sharp pains in their back, whilst other felt the pins & needle sensation in their arms, across their shoulders and their back. I asked Grant to hold out his hand as the spirit energy was standing to his right. Unbeknown to Grant I had asked Terry to touch his hand and to close his open hand. Grant immediately said that he could feel the spirit and that his hand felt strange, especially his little finger, then Grant jolted his hand, although he has no idea why, he said that it felt odd.

It was during this that we could hear strange noises within the wood (bearing in mind it was raining heavily by now). One of the noises that we all heard and which made the guests jump was a loud thump or a stomp. This is not the sort of noise an animal could make as it was too loud for a rabbit, fox or badger.

Because it was now raining quite heavily we moved back into the cover of the woods to an area which has proved very successful for séances in the past. So we held a séance and were immediately joined by Terry (the spirit from earlier) although there was also two other energies, a brother and sister present. Their names were Peter & Chloe. Peter stood back from the group but Chloe stepped forward to provide the guests with a physical experience. Chloe was very tall, about 5’10” aged in her early 20s with blonde hair and striking blue eyes. She gave me the impression that they were from Denmark (although that could have just been the blonde, blue eyed link).

Chloe proceeded to move the arms of the guests, gently at first and then move forcefully and several of the guests reported that whilst their hands were being manipulated they had cramp in their fingers. Two guests also felt a pins & needles sensation in their backs. When I asked Chloe to push or pull the guests, many of them started to sway, some forwards and backwards, others from left to right. I then suggested to spirit to push people from their knees, as this is the easiest way to push someone over. Grant immediately exclaimed that he was in agony as his knees were extremely sore and he couldn’t move them. Chloe also pushed some other members of the group.

From here we moved to part of the woods which has been eventful on previous occasions and it is here that I tried an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena – a.k.a. ghost voice) experiment. Unfortunately due to the conditions (the heavy rain) the spirit voices that did exist on the recording could not be cleaned up enough to fully understand what the spirit was saying. I also tried once again the spirit box and this time we all heard the spirit voice say “hi” and when I asked for the spirit to say their name we heard firstly “Pete” and then when I asked the spirit to say it again we all heard “Peter”. There was possibly a “thanks” spoken via the box but unfortunately the rain hindered our hearing ability.

As soon as there was a let up in the rain we decided to make our way back to the cars.

Once again a very enjoyable and productive ghost hunt where the guests all got a physical experience and heard spirit voices via the spirit box. It is just a shame that the spirit voices recorded during the EVP experiment cannot be heard properly over the sound of the rain.

Pluckley woods ghost hunt 18-5-2012

Pluckley Woods ghost hunt – 18th May 2012

As the summer approaches ghost hunting outdoors increases in popularity and fortunately any light rain showers will not affect our ghost hunts very much because of the cover of the trees. Which was the case this time, although the amount of mud seemed to have no relation to the amount of rain we have had recently.

The first stop, which is my usual starting point for the evening many of the guests took photos, some had light anomalies but quite a few people photographed odd mists, it wasn’t a misty night nor a cold one, so these mists are anomalous.

There was also a lot of KII activity and quite a lot of communication via our electronic devices.

There were a group of four people (not part of our group) who were obviously conducting their own ghost hunt, however they passed us in a leisurely fashion and about 10 minutes later we could hear them rushing out of the woods, one of them commented that it was a silly thing to do and they were obviously scared as they commented briefly that they photographed something which shocked them.

The second area we stopped I held a séance a male energy by the name of John came forward, he was an architect and aged approximately 30 years old. He wore round framed spectacles and had short brown hair, quite a slim build and tall, approximately 6’. He wore light brown trousers and a long sleeved white shirt with pale blue stripes. He also wore braces.

John seemed to spend most of the time standing right behind Tony (guest), the two guests either side of Tony said that Tony was shaking a lot. Ryan (guest) announced that he was feeling very unwell and nauseous. I then decided to put Ryan in the centre of the circle to protect him as there was a very nasty energy called Michael who was standing near to Ryan. Michael seemed to be a very nasty energy who wanted to cause harm, he also told me that he liked to murder people to weed out the weak. Just as we were stopping the séance some of us heard a very loud and deep growl just behind where Tony was standing. This growl did not sound like a dog or a natural animal of the woods, but more like a wolf.

In this area there was lots of KII activity and communication via the electronic equipment

From here we moved on to a new favourite area of mine, one which unnerves me because it doesn’t feel right and every time I have taken a group here something interesting has happened either to the guests or me!

Whilst standing on the path, once again lots of KII activity and ghost communication and also many footfall sounds heard in the surrounding woodland.

Using the spirit box the guests called out for spirit to say their names, which spirit happily did as well as saying “Hello” and “Thank you”

At the end of this I conducted an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena a.k.a. ghost voice experiment) and toward the end when I usually ask a question one of the guest yelped and said that they felt a poke in the back, however when the recording was played back there was a clear sound of a dog bark, which was not audible at the time.

We left this area soon after as many of the guests were feeling vulnerable, sickly or just not themselves.

Bicknor Woods ghost hunt 4-5-2012

Bicknor Church & woods ghost hunt – 4th May 2012

This location never usually fails to amaze us, we were not disappointed this time, and in the past many EVPs (ghost voices) have been recorded, this time we had some excellent results.

As we started, there was high KII EMF activity at the rear of the church (in a field) and various guests reported a coldness. Whilst I was standing at a point closer to the road I noticed a male energy standing near to the church. He was about 21 years old and about 6’5” tall, a vicar and kept looking at his silver wristwatch, as if he was waiting for a congregation to arrive.

Whilst sitting in full view of the nearly full moon through the clouds many guests heard the sound of footsteps. There was also some excellent an persistent KII EMF activity seen. We can rule out that any electricity supplies were causing the KII activity because the church has no electricity supply.

Also there were energies who were communicating to the guests via our electronic equipment and I recorded many questions in the hope of recording EVPs (ghost voices). Some of these questions did get a positive response.

There were lots of temperature changes and one guest who said he felt hot, took his coat off (much to our amazement) and then asked for spirit to make him colder, which did happen very slowly.

From here we walked to the woods, which was thankfully out of the wind and light rain. Many strange noises were heard in the woods as well as approaching footfalls, although no one appeared. There were also periods of high KII activity and at one point many guests and I heard whispers and other vocal sounds. Once again no-one physical appeared.

During the laser grid experiment (we had two grids covering both directions of the path) I heard what I thought was a guest say “Pardon Me” when I turned to ask why, everyone swore that they did not hear a noise, let alone a voice, as it was extremely still in the woods. Nothing however was seen in the grid although some guests did see lights within the trees.

Further down the path I held the only séance of the evening and a male energy, who did not give me his name came forward, he was from 1670s and was in his early 20s, he told me that King Charles II was on the throne. He was a shipwright. This energy also answered some other questions via our proceeding EVP experiment. This energy proceeded to push and pull some guests, much to their surprise as the movement was very forceful. He also made many people sway (like on a boat) and there was some gentle arm movements. Toward the end of this séance Tony (guest) felt very light headed and when I asked for the energy to step close to someone to make them smile, Tony burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter.

During the session lights were once again seen within the woods.

We finished the séance off with an EVP experiment (Electronic Voice Phenomena experiment). There was several possible spirit voices recorded however the best can be heard at:-

There were not many photos taken because as the evening progressed the rain came down heavier.

Rye Castle – 28-4-2012

Rye Castle ghost hunt 28th April 2012

After our first ghost hunt at Rye Castle in September 2011, we were really looking forward to returning, since we had a lot of unexplainable and anomalous activity. This time we and the guests were not disappointed.

The weather certainly did not help the evenings proceedings, torrential rain battered Rye all night long. Since this was a small group I decided that because of the weather we would stay in one group throughout the evening.

The First session was held on the first floor of the tower, where there was a lot of KII EMF activity and through our electronic equipment, guests we able to ascertain that there were two energies present.

The first was a male energy, who was Dutch and from the 1880s. This energy was able to communicate with the guests through our equipment and answered many of their questions.

The second, who I could see, was another male energy called George Cooper. He was 23 years old when he passed and he told me that he frequently rode a motorcycle. He was dressed from the 1970s. He was about 5’10” in height and of a slim build. He had natural blonde hair and myself and a guest (Wendy) saw him pass between us, both of us saw his long blonde hair (shoulder length).

There was also another male energy present, an American Indian although I had no communication with him.

Towards the end of the session Wendy started to shake uncontrollably and quite violently, even when she sat down the shaking continued for some time. When we were leaving the room Wendy was literally stuck on the staircase, unable to move her legs. Wendy commented that it felt like the spirits were reluctant to let her go. I took two of us to get Wendy down to the ground floor. I suggested that Wendy leave the tower for a few minutes as this would dispel an further activity on Wendy from whatever spirit had caused this. When Wendy returned, nothing bad happened to her for the rest of the evening.

Our second session was held in the Women’s Tower (a smaller tower that once housed women and children prisoners). After about five minutes Marc had to leave as he said that he wasn’t feeling well and needed some air. Marc continued listening to us from the bottom of the tower. As Marc approached the door way to the court yard he reported seeing two orange lights outside the door. When he investigated this he could not work out how this was possible from any nearby property, as the walls surrounding the courtyard are at least 20 feet high and only about 10 feet from the entrance to the Women’s Tower. Considering that it was raining heavily a light source could have only been in the sky, but this too is extremely unlikely and thus this remains unexplained.

Both Carl and Ted (Volunteer Guide) commented that the wall that they had their backs to felt as if it was moving, which is rather unlikely, but both felt the same when standing in this area.

Once again there was some KII activity recorded and some communication via our equipment for the guests, although I have no details of this apart from the fact female and child energies were present. Carl who was standing in a corner said that he too wasn’t feeling well, although he told me afterwards that he just felt angry and wanted to hit me. Many of the guests then stood exactly where Carl had stood and some of the guests reported feeling the same, although when I stood in that spot I felt nothing. Many guests also reported that the room seemed to get darker in the corners.

During the period we were in this tower I was knocking on a metal filing cabinet for spirit to repeat or copy the knocks, many of which were heard in response. Marc however who was in the downstairs room heard the same noises, but he heard them as if they had been repeated on a wooden object. There wasn’t any wooden surfaces in this tower.

Many people heard strange noises outside in the courtyard, including Marc (who was closest). We also conducted a short session in the lower room of this tower, but other than noises and sounds heard from the courtyard nothing notable happened.

When guests proceeded into the courtyard many of them felt vulnerable and exposed, whilst others including me felt serene and pleasant energies. To me it seemed a very pleasant place to relax. Had it not been raining then we would have investigated this further.

Marc and Carl held a lone vigil in one of the cells, Ted who just opened the door for them and stood outside the cell did not feel well and was affected by this experience. Whilst Carl & Marc were here they heard audible sounds, although nothing was recorded on our equipment.

Our third session was split between the first floor of the main tower and the basement area, which had at one time been the town morgue. I was on the first floor with the majority of the guests, the rest were in the basement with Marc & Carl.

Those in the basement tried a scrying experiment with some startling results, all of those who participated didn’t like the results. There was also a strange humming sound heard in this area, Ted commented that he had never heard this sound before. Just before we left Ted and Marc re-checked this area and no sound or humming could be heard.

Also in the basement, those present could smell various scents, possibly formaldehyde, this periodically moved around the room got stronger in places and faded away. Audible tapping and knocking sounds were heard in the proximity of the ceiling of the basement, although the EVP experiment held here did not reveal anything.

I held a proper séance this time and a female energy called Janet Wansley came forward. She was in her early 20s and came across as being a housekeeper or someone who lived in this tower when it was a home. She had dark brown hair and piercing blue eyes, very similar to some Irish people. Many of the guests, especially Virginia noted Janet had a lovely warm energy and was very vibrant in her actions. Janet proceeded to physically touch guests and move our arms and push us forwards and backwards. At one point everyone was swaying from side to side.

I conducted various EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena experiments – a.k.a. ghost voice experiments) through the entire evening. Out of all the recordings six were definite ghost voices, the best three you can listen to at:-

Several photographs were taken but nothing strange or anomalous was reported by anyone.

Once again a very enjoyable and exciting investigation and one which we hope to return to later in the year as we would like to investigate the courtyard, hopefully next time it will not be raining.

Pluckley Screaming Woods – 27-4-2012 (Paranormal Investigator)

Pluckley Screaming Woods ghost hunt – 27th April 2012

Arriving at one of the recognised spots, deep within the woods, where paranormal activity and past investigations have occurred, we briefed the guests on the basic use of various pieces of equipment, associated with “ghost hunting”.

The night was probably the quietest and stillest ever encountered without a breath of wind and clear, starlit sky with the beginnings of the new moon cycle. All in all, these conditions present an excellent opportunity to procure EVP recordings and remain totally aware of the surrounding environment. All that could be heard from the outset were the calls of owls in the distance!

Embarking on the “investigation” trail, several members of the group, armed with KII EMF Meters, Pro Ghost Meters, and similar equipment, noted readings from the outset, ranging from a mere 0.2 milligauss )mG) on the MEL Meter to a constant red light reading, simultaneously, on three separate KII meters.

These readings were of particular importance as there is absolutely no possibility of any background Electro Magnetic Field influence arising from electrically generated apparatus or power lines etc, so far into the woods themselves.

The Ovilus PX unit, a piece of kit specifically designed in the USA for “digitally dowsing” the surrounding atmosphere and environment, containing a pre supplied, vocabulary of approximately three thousand words, was also being utilised by members of the group.

Enabling spirit or astral presences, to “communicate” via this digital vocabulary, using full words, or even phonetically, the unit offers a great opportunity to support and substantiate other evidence gathered from equipment being used in tandem.

An excellent example of this liaison, on this particular vigil, was highlighted when the Pro Ghost Meter identified a “contact” and subsequent questioning by the guests, seeking a simple yes/no response. Establishing the name of the contact as “Tom” and the possibility that this contact was a highwayman, originally from the Leeds/York area, the Ovilus produced words such as “horses”, “York”, “Tom” and more.

Strangely enough, on this occasion, a PSB-7 unit, scanning white noise frequencies a short distance away, also blurted out the name “Tom” simultaneously! Coincidence or not, the resulting information and responses proved convincing to our guests who continued to make intermittent contact with “Tom” throughout the course of the vigil in this spot.

Most surprising of all, whilst using the Ovilus PX, the surname of two of the guests was called out from the unit clearly astounding all present! There is no explanation for this anomalous happening.

Grouping together for an hand held vigil and séance, myself and Carl remained outside of the Circle and moved off, approximately three to four hundred yards in another direction.

Carrying out several EVP’s, calling out as we walked, the resulting data appears to hold little of interest. Simultaneously, photographs were taken with no apparent anomalous results.

During the séance, we all clearly heard cows mooing in the distance, a strange occurrence to record, as the possibility of hearing this, so far into the woods, with any surrounding fields far too far away, is extremely unlikely, in view of the stillness of the night, absolutely no wind whatsoever and total quietness.

The sound ceased as quickly as it had started and was not recorded further for the remainder of the vigil.

I broke away with a small group (mother, daughter Sydney, father, and their son, who remained in the background and did not appear to want to participate,) and engaged in a very short EVP. As the recording was replayed on the spot, clear, class A audible whispering, of a female voice, could be heard saying “Aah! It’s Cold” and then almost immediately afterwards, “men are in the village”. Subsequent downloading and analysis of this EVP has resulted in some heated debate of the content and has now been posted on the GHE website.

Whilst the guests were taken to other areas within the woods, and calling out, EVP and photography continued, there does not appear to be anything further of any major interest from my perspective resulting, though my colleagues and, perhaps the guests, may well have provided something in the interim?
