Rye Castle ghost hunt 23rd April 2016
Rye, East Sussex

rye_castle

Rye Castle is a small venue which is why there are only a small amount of guests allowed for the ghost hunt, however on this evening a number of guests failed to turn up so the group was smaller than previous ghost hunts. This meant that the ghost hunt was more intimate for those who were present and the personal evidence that these guests encountered was brilliant.

We kept all the guests together since the group was about half the size it should have been and held three sessions.

The first session was a tech and gadget session in the main Keep where the guests we able to get basic yes and no answers to their questions as well as experiencing strange energy spikes on our meters.

The second session was a table tilting session in which we had some movement on the table and the third session was a séance session where we were joined by a male spirit aged in his 50s from the 1890s. He was called Anthony Dwight and he was a well-dressed gentlemen wearing a smart pin striped suit and had a pocket watch.

Anthony was able to move the majority of the guests by their arms and pull various people by their arms to the floor, which was all very amusing to us.

During the free session (when guests can venture off on their own) guests were coming back to us in the base room after being upstairs in the Keep or in the Woman’s Tower and reporting that something unusual happened to them. On all occasions they had thought there was someone else in the room with them, when in fact they had all been on their own (in pairs). One pair of guests reported that first they thought someone spoke to the them and then they heard the “woosh” of a lady’s dress as it passed them by.

All in all, a very interesting ghost hunt and we look forward to our return in September 2016.

Landguard Fort – 9th April 2016 – Steve

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 9th April 2016
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

I forget how many times that we have investigated this fort however we enjoy every one as the activity and the experience is different every time. There are many rooms here, which I still haven’t investigated or even entered.

For all my sessions on this occasion I held them in the guardhouse at the entrance of the fort.

We were joined by a spirit called George who was a Second World War soldier at the fort but lived through the war years and passed away at the age of 55. Plus, there was an older spirit from 1830s, also a Soldier in the Army and held the rank of Major. This spirit did not give his name.

In all sessions the spirit was able to move and manipulate people and in many cases pushed people to the floor and held some of them on the floor, unable to get up on their own.

This was all very amusing which seem to heighten the activity and the experience of the guests with more people being manipulated as time wore on.

The videos of the séance sessions can be watched at: –

This was another excellent ghost hunt at the fort with many people experiencing paranormal activity and having their own paranormal evidence in the free session. We look forward to our return in October 2016.

Fort Amherst – 4th March 2016 – Kym

Tuesday, March 8th, 2016

Fort Amherst ghost hunt 4th March 2016
Chatham, Kent.

fort-amherst-003

Area: Lower Gun Floor
Ouija & Table Tipping

With my first group we had a female spirit called Olivia come through on the Ouija, who may have come through to the guests at a previous event elsewhere.  With the table we only had slight movement, so switched to glass, and they were able to communicate with a General connected to the fort.  Back on the Ouija a male soldier had come through, and kept spelling N and Z.  Asking if he could spell he said no.  So asking spirit to try and communicate through us, we worked with yes/no.  We got the word “hang”, spirit had hung someone for doing something bad to his wife.  We asked if his wife could spell, answered yes, and she stepped forward.  However, all we got was O and Z, asking if they were from Australia – yes.  We asked if the spirits would join us for some table tipping and they said yes, so we did just that.  We had a lot of movement with the table rocking and moving a lot.  We were also feeling a lot of coldness around us, and the feelings of being touched.

With my second group we had a female spirit come through on the Ouija, that may have been connected to the guests there.  I joined two guests on the table tipping, but only had slight movement so with the other guests finished on the Ouija, we all tried the table tipping again.  We did have some slight movement, but had a little more from the glasswork, however we couldn’t determine who the spirit was.

With my last group we tried the Ouija first, and immediately had a male soldier come through, however couldn’t quite determine his name, age or year.  We did ask if he liked what we were doing and he said no.  Simon (guest) thought he saw someone standing behind me, asking spirit to take the glass to where he was standing, the glass went to me.  We then switched to table tipping, and had some incredible movement, with the table rocking fast, tipping and twisting at random.  Moving across the room too.  We were also asking spirit to copy our taps on the table, which we did hear and feel back.

With the free session I joined guests on the Upper Gun Floor, who wanted to do a human pendulum.  The spirit that came through was female that seemed to be looking for someone.  She was killed by her father, was also pregnant by her father.  We asked if she wanted any help but she said no.  The guests all were amazed that spirit were able to move them to answer yes and no, saying quite an odd feeling.

A fun night, with evidence of spirit coming through, and a lovely group of guests who were all willing to join in and participate.

Old Beneficiary School – 20th February 2016 – Steve

Old Beneficiary School ghost hunt 20th February 2016
Portsmouth, Hampshire

groundlings-theatre

This is an unusual building as we often have activity but not in relation to the building or its past use. This particular evening was no different. I was in the main theatre, the upstairs room for all my sessions.

The first group were joined by a Man who was reluctant to say anything, he wore a schoolboy type cap and was aged roughly in his early 30s. He seemed to be dressed in clothing associated with a summer party and he gave me the impression that he had something to do with importing fine spices into the country. There was also a woman called Grace who said that she washed the floors when this building was a school in 1890s. When we were near the back of the room there was a spirit here called Daniel who was a recent spirit, someone who had passed away recently, although he gave the year as 2006 and he took his own life in sad circumstances. He said he lived locally.

During the séance we experienced lots of movement, including arm movement, footfalls, noises and squeaks that could not be explained.

The second group once again experienced some movement in the séance, although not as much as the first group. Although we did experience some of the strange noises and footfalls like the first group.

The third group didn’t experience any movement at all, nor did we hear any odd noises.

We look forward to returning later in the year

Fort Borstal – 17th October 2015 – Steve

Fort Borstal ghost hunt 17th October 2015
Rochester, Kent

fort-borstal-front

All guests participated in the séance sessions with me in the Counterscarp Galleries.

The first group experienced lots of movement and everyone’s hands touched the floor several times as well as being twisted.

The spirit that was responsible for this was a First World War soldier that I have met before at the fort called Captain Daniel Bedford.

At the end of the session we all heard music that sounded like it was coming from within the counterscarp gallery.

The second group also experienced gentle arm movement, pushing and gentle swaying sensations.

The third group had lots of activity which started with gentle pushing and pulling back and swaying. Jazz (guest) was reluctant to feel spirit after other guests touched his chest with their hands so I moved beside them and Jazz and Gaya were moved gently and twirled. Toward the end of the session Jazz got touched on the back, like a poke.

This was an excellent ghost hunt with everyone having a paranormal experience.

Explosion Museum – 14th November 2015 – Steve

Explosion Museum ghost hunt 14th November 2015
Gosport, Hampshire

explosion-museum-1

Both groups during the séance sessions experienced movement, there was a mentally challenged spirit responsible for the movement, he did not give his name nor any information about his self.

The first group one of the female guests felt their leg being lifted whilst we were standing in the séance circle.

In the second group, we were all pushed or pulled to the floor by the spirit.

An enjoyable ghost hunt that we look forward to returning to in the New Year.

Colchester Town Hall – 28th November 2015 – Steve

Colchester Town Hall ghost hunt 28th November 2015
Colchester, Essex

colchester-town-hall

For my séance session I held all of them in the top floor flat or what used to be a flat, the two end rooms are the strangest with odd sensations being felt by guests over several events that we have hosted here.

This time though we were joined by a male spirit called Robert who was a Council Official in 1950s and 60s who was run over by a car on the high street. This particular spirit made those who encountered him feel dizzy, disorientated and made the room feel oppressive.

We were also joined by a spirit called Peter who was from 1902, he was aged about 15 and was responsible for touching some people’s bums and making odd noises.

There was also a spirit who was from Harwich and a Fishmonger who sold his fish in the weekly market.

All séances guests felt the spirit present by way of gentle arm movement or not so gentle movement with some people being pushed or dragged to the floor by their arms. Some of the guests felt the pain of the spirit i.e. head trauma. Whilst others saw things that they could not explain – a man standing at the end of the corridor wearing a Guy Fawkes style hat (flower pot)

This was an excellent ghost hunt with all guests having some form of paranormal encounter with the spirit present.

We look forward to returning to this venue

Landguard Fort – 30th January 2016 – Louise

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016

Landguard Fort ghost hunt 30th January 2016
Felixstowe, Suffolk

landguard-fort

Equipment: Tech and Gadgets

Started the sessions in an area with 3 adjoining rooms, in the first room a male and female energy came through on the ghost pro. The male went on to tell us that he was in his 30’s and worked at the fort as soldier. The female energy told us that she worked as a nurse looking after the soldiers when wounded. All of a sudden a cold sensation was felt on the face f one of the guests and he felt very light headed. As this occurred, the door that joined the two rooms slammed very loudly. We then moved into the second room where Sean (team) had set up the laser grid to face the door that slammed. All the guests said the witnessed the lights going out at the bottom of the door as if someone was standing in front of it.

The second session was amazing as we all gathered in the bigger room because as soon as we entered the room we could here the EDI machine (EMF, Thermometer and Geophone) going off. Also all the K2’s were going off in sequence throughout the whole session and the temperature dropped significantly. Asking spirit to slam the door again as it did in the first session, it did so and at the exact same time a guest got pushed forcefully from behind. Two guests the stood against the wall so they could see if anyone in anyway were slamming the door. As they stood against the wall both felt like they were being pulled into the wall, with one guest literally pinned against the wall unable to move.

In the third session there was very little activity, so it was decided that we all move to the communication room. Setting up the equipment all the K2’s went off in sequence but only going up to amber. Gareth (guest) decided with some other members of the group to go into one of the smaller rooms leading off from the gun room. The K2 immediately lit up to red and remained on red. It was then decided that they try and get one of the heavy information plaques to start to tip. Immediately upon asking spirit to join us and move the table it started to rock back and forth really forcefully slowly moving round the room in a circle. All the way through the session the K2 that I was holding, spirit constantly lit up taking the lights right up to red and holding them there.

Nothe Fort – 16th January 2016 – Steve

Nothe Fort ghost hunt 16th January 2016
Weymouth, Dorset

nothe-fort-00

As a team we were really looking forward to this event as it has been a couple of years since we had been able to hold a ghost hunt at this huge Fort. The problem was that the fort could never find staff who were willing to work at the unsociable time required for a ghost hunt.

I chose a magazine room for my sessions

My first session we were joined by Toby a spirit from 1630s aged in his late 30s and Cecil, a Second World War soldier. Both spirits were able to manipulate people and move them in some way. During this time, we also heard some unexplained noises.

The second group also felt the presence of Cecil and some movement was felt by some guests.

The third group experienced lots of movement, most of it on command as well as strange horse related smells, many of which were not pleasant.

The fourth group we were joined by a Second World War Captain who didn’t give his name, although he was stationed in Weymouth during the war. This spirit was able to move everyone with ease, whether they wanted to be moved or not.

Many people in all groups felt hot and cold spots and heard strange noises, although this Fort is on a headland and some of these noises could have been caused by the wind, as the early part of the night was windy. It became still as the night progressed.

This was an excellent ghost hunt with all groups experiencing paranormal activity but unfortunately the Fort Management have cancelled all future events from all ghost hunting groups and companies based on an uneducated, ill-informed and close-minded opinion of the world of ghost hunting. Probably acquired from something the committee members watched on television, which is made for entertainment purposes. Not the real world of ghost hunting.

True Crime Museum – 13th February 2016 – Kym

True Crime Museum 13th February 2016
Hastings, East Sussex

true-crime-museum

Human Pendulum
This was the first time we had visited the True Crime Museum, and we were all looking forward to the night very much.  Just looking around the museum and seeing the artefacts and stories was disturbing but fascinating.  Who would we talk to tonight?

With only a small amount of guests we kept the group together and each team member took turns to control a session.  Mine was the Human Pendulum, and we had three male spirits that came through, all knowing each other.  The first spirit was a soldier in his 30’s, had lived in Hastings and was married.  He had passed in the First World War, 1915, in water, with an explosion to his face.  Enemy fire from the Germans at the French Maginot Line.  It was very wet and muddy.  His two friends who were with him, who were medics, couldn’t save him.  Donna (guest) was in the circle at the time and she could visualise him with blond curly hair and blue eyes.  I asked all to clear their minds, and I asked spirit to tell us his name.  Donna had the name James, which was correct.  Myself and Kerry (team) had the names Bob and Eric, these were the names of his two friends.

The next spirit was his friend Eric, and confirmed he was with James when he died, he was a medic, and had passed in 1916.

Bob then came through, and again he was a medic and had died in 1916. Bob was married with two children.  His family were farmers, arable farming, in Hastings, but there were houses on his land now.

All three were childhood friends from Hastings.  All three were together when James had died but couldn’t save him.  When talking to James Kerry had felt a feeling on her face and nose, James confirmed there was an explosion on his face when he died.
