Explosion Museum ghost hunt 24th July 2015
Gosport, Hampshire

Area: Officers Admin Building
Equipment: Pendulums and Dowsing Rods

Group B – This was a lovely old untouched building, with a tremendous amount of atmosphere to it, and I wanted the guests to enjoy exploring and feeling the energies around them.  With Louise’s assistance we showed the guests how to use the rods & pendulums, establishing their yes & no’s, and then communicating with spirit.  We had a male spirit with us initially who worked here in the 1900’s.  The spirit said there were more than 10 spirits in this building with us.  Everyone then went off to explore, myself I ventured to the opposite end of the corridor into a small room and immediately felt like I was being punched in the stomach, not a physical feeling could just sense this.  I felt there were two men in here that had fought.  Louise joined me and said what she had picked up here: A male spirit called Arthur, worked in the building, died in the 1950’s age 41, was married with two children.  His wife had died during childbirth in her 30’s, his children are still alive.  He worked with his brother who also died here, they didn’t get on and fought alot, and a possible fight here.  Whilst on her own later Louise asked spirit to give her a sign, and she had pins & needles suddenly in her left hand.  We stayed for a short while talking to the spirits, I asked for the spirits name I was talking to and was given the name Peter, Louise said she was also given this but when asked if that was the spirits name her pendulum said no, I asked if I was talking to Arthur’s brother called Peter, and my pendulum said yes.  Peter also confirmed there was a fight in this room with his brother.  He was here 1925-1950, and died aged 47.

We joined the guests downstairs, and one guest said he felt uncomfortable in the bathroom and wouldn’t enter that room.  We went with him, and could feel the energy when entering that room.  It felt like a static energy all around us.  I sensed someone had been strangled here, and could feel pressure on my throat.  Louise was also picking up on the same.  All three of us could feel the energy, but also quite bizarrely we all felt it suddenly go at the same time.

Group A – Again we started in the large end room upstairs with showing the guests how to use the rods & pendulums.  We asked spirit what this room was used for and it was the recreation room.  Louise had connected with a female spirit called Mary, she had worked here, and died here, age 49 in 1944.  She worked here in the war as a maid/housekeeper.  She had not married and had no children.  A guest (Kim) joined her, and Louise asked her to see what she could find out from the spirit, and Kim got exactly the same, including the name Mary.  I was with the remaining guests who were initially picking up on the two brothers from earlier, and were surprised by the amount of energies in the room, with rods & pendulums spinning erratically.  We all then went downstairs, and could hear noises, at first thinking they were from upstairs, then realising they were in a room next to them, followed the noise.  They sensed they were talking to a mischievous male spirit.  Louise took Kim (guest) to the bathroom that we felt the energy in earlier, and with no knowledge from myself of Louise, Kim could feel the energy, could sense someone had been strangled, and by using her rods had confirmation that someone was murdered here by strangulation.

Area: Grand Magazine
Equipment: Ouija, Table Tipping, Writing Planchette

Group B – I had now moved to the Grand Magazine and started with five guests and myself on the ouija, and Louise with two guests trying table tipping.  The table started moving very gently at first, and establishing their yes & no found out they were talking to two children.  Then the table started moving with a lot more energy, and was able to confirm this was now a male spirit.  On the ouija we didn’t have any movement on the glass, but did feel the table move.  We did try asking spirit to move the table, but with no movement we switched to the writing planchette.  Although we didn’t get any drawings, the planchette did move up and down, and the guests were able to communicate with the spirit this way.  I did join the others on the table tipping, and asked spirit to lift the table up so we could all feel how strong the spirit was by trying to push the table back down, which was incredibly hard.  Two male guests tried the ouija and had some glass movement with the letters P D Q then the glass went to goodbye.  The five guests then tried some table tipping together and had some movement, whilst I joined the two ladies on the ouija.  We had a male spirit called Mark, from 1824 and was married with 4 children.  He didn’t work here, but did live here.

Group A – This group of guests had a lot of experience talking to spirit so didn’t really need our assistance, so initially Louise & I asked spirit to move a chair whilst we rested our hands on it.  And to our surprise the chair started rocking quite fast, and did twist slightly.  I then joined the guests as they had stopped the table tipping and were asking spirit to move the glass on the table for yes & no answers.  They were talking to a 13 year old boy, who worked on HMS Victory as a powder monkey.  He knew Nelson and was involved in battlement on the ship, and had died in combat on the ship, although it did not sink.  He was at the battle of Trafalgar.  He gave the year initially as 1850.  They were fighting the Spanish.  They were also able to establish the spirit’s name was William Henry.  We then switched to the ouija table and the spirit stayed with them.  Asking spirit to spell his name, he gave us William Henry.  Asking for his family name he spelt FUGR twice.  Asking if he meant Fergus – confirmed yes.  He also confirmed he was 13 years old, but the year was 1803.  He had 4 brothers and 1 sister.  He was the middle child.  His mother died in childbirth.  His father and other children fought too.  William died in an accident, a canon had backfired.

Some guests wanted to return to the Admin Building with the Ouija and when they came back said they had spoken to the female spirit Louise & Kim had spoken to earlier, and she confirmed her name was Mary Smith.  Also they took the Ouija in to the bathroom and spoke to the sprit(s) there and confirmed that a man was strangled there because he was gay.

Wow – what an amazing place – still didn’t explore everywhere so definitely looking forward to coming back!

Explosion Museum ghost hunt 24th July 2015
Gosport, Hampshire

This was the third time that we had investigated the Explosion Museum. The original plan was to use rooms and buildings that would be dark because it was summer. However as it turned out there was no problem with light because 24th July it rained constantly all day and it was a dark and miserable day.

Sometimes we have several members of the team present, but being July some were on holiday so I decided that Kym, Louise and I would hold two different activities in different parts of the site so that the guests could experience different aspects of ghost hunting. The first two sessions, one with each group would be a séance session, followed by a tech and gadget session both sessions would be held in different buildings.

After splitting the guests into two groups I headed off to a building known as C Mag.

We were joined by a spirit called Colin who had a Dorset accent, aged in his mid 20s and was someone who worked in this building unloading explosives. He had a colleague but this person who was aged in his late 30s was only called by a derogatory name; Stupid.

Both séances Colin and his accomplice touched, pushed, twisted and swayed people as part of the séance, many times our arms were lifted as high as we could reach and then pulled downwards so that we touched the floor.

Many guests felt uncomfortable in the room and there were odd noises heard and cold spots felt. The cold spots weren’t in the same place on each session and those who reported the coldness sometimes were the only person who could feel it. On more than one occasion people saw something that they described as a person or a shadow moving behind people. On one of the occasions a guest and I saw something that looked like a person wearing a hooded jacket, turn and walk away from the group. If the workers in this room wore felt suits which is likely during its early days then this could be an explanation of what we saw.

The following two sessions were tech and gadget sessions held in a building known as 309 which is a store room and maintenance room for all the large guns, missiles and implements of war that don’t fit in the main museum. Adjoining this building are the two former cottages.

After explaining how the gadget work and handing out kit to everyone I let people roam around the building. I had also set up a laser grid. I had hoped to use a spirit box, as it was still raining I thought it might be better to listen to that noise, but unfortunately the two spirits boxes that we brought to Gosport neither of them worked, both had the same problem which was a battery leakage. This is strange as our kit is used weekly and it was fine 6 days ago.

Nevertheless guests had lots of activity in both groups with our KII meters and Ghost Meter Pro’s (EMF meters) and had unusual spikes in the cottages. The REM Mel meter also went off a couple of times although we heard it no-one was near it on either occasion to witness what triggered it.

Many times we heard footsteps and strange bangs within the building, every time I asked the guests where they thought the noise came from, everyone pointed in different directions.

All in all this was another great ghost hunt at the Explosion Museum and we look forward to returning later in the year.

Explosion Museum – 9th May 2015 (Wayne & Paula)

Explosion Museum ghost hunt 9th May 2015
Gosport, Hampshire

Location: Missile Warehouse and Cottages
We used Ghost Pros, K2 Meters, SB7 Spirit Box, Laser Grid, EM Pump, Mel Meter, REM Pod, Ovilus lll and Infrared Non Contact Thermometer.

Session 1 with Steve

Straight away we had activity near the coffin carrier with the ghost pros where we met Arnold/Arnie who introduced himself initially to Steve and then the guests with communication through the ghost pros. He was a maintenance man working on the machines and firearms in the warehouse we established him to be in his 60s. His son was also with us, his name was Chris and he was 14 which we discovered through the ghost pros.
We then used the SB7 as they both seemed willing to communicate with us which they did. Firstly Chris said “Hello” very clearly then we heard both Chris and Arnold say there names through the spirit box.
A couple of the guests felt cold spots on their shoulders so with the non contact thermometer we managed to get readings to validate this as their normal temperature was around 20oC and the cold spots were showing 17.5oC
Also Steve managed to pick up on many spirit “working” as they would have done when they were alive unaware that we were there.

Session 2 with Louise

In the 2nd session we had a spirit come forward that we had met on a previous investigation here in February. Her name is Carly and she is a little girl that we think lived in the cottages that are linked to the Missile rooms and that she is probably in there playing and being cheeky. She didn’t communicate that much but she did let us know that she was there and that she wanted to play with the interactive bear which we had with us last time but unfortunately left it behind on this investigation.
We used 2 Mel meters on the coffin carrier which both spiked to 0.4mg at various times from a baseline reading of 0.0mg,but what was interesting was that when we reviewed our camcorder footage when we got home we captured one of the Mel meters moving by itself, only a very small amount but nevertheless it moved without being touched by any of us.
After this one of our male guests had some great activity with the K2 meter that he was using, spirit was able to light it up to amber and hold it there and then when asked able to light up to the red.

Gosport, Hampshire

Ouija / Table tilting

Session 1 – Group A

We started our session with some table tilting. Initially it took a lot of effort to get any movement on the table, then there was a gentle rocking motion for some time until eventually the table tipped up on one side and held this position. I kept encouraging spirit to move the table again or in another way, but the table just stayed in this position. After a while, the table suddenly did a half spin and stopped. When we asked spirit to do this again, it did so this time with a full spin.
We heard a tap on the window, and asked spirit if it was them who made this sound and to do it again, but unfortunately it didn’t happen again.
During the Ouija session we had a spirit join us by the name of Amanda. She was 47 years old and died in 1928. She told us she wasn’t connected to the building in any way, and there were 5 spirits in the room with us, although she didn’t know any of them. She went on to tell us that she had a husband called Kevin but they had no children. Both her and her husband died from TB, he caught it from her and he was the first to die. We then sensed Amanda had left us and there was a new spirit moving the glass. We established that it was another female and when asked if there was someone round the table they wish to talk to, the glass moved to Louise (team), who was standing to my left. We asked spirit to spell their name and the glass spelt Winnifred. Louise sensed this lady to be her Nan and decided to leave the table at this point. Someone else asked the spirit’s age and the glass went to 7, then 1. When asked to confirm if she was 71 years old, the glass moved to yes. Just before our session was due to finish, another female spirit came through by the name of Ethel who died in the area in the 1940’s.

Session 2 – Group B

We had some very good table movement in this session, with the table rocking slowly to start with and gradually building up until it was rocking very rapidly from side to side. It seemed the more noise the group of guests made, the stronger the table would move. The table continued to rock in this way, and after a lot of encouragement it started spinning around, to the amazement of the guests.
We had three spirits come through during the Ouija session. A lady by the name of Nancy who was 41 years old, and died in a fire in 1618. Then a male spirit called Pez who fought in the Second World War. He said he was born in 1928 and had two children. Also a man came through who was connected to one of the guests, and we soon found out it was her dad. The guests kept asking questions and all the responses seemed to be relevant in some way to this lady and her family. I asked her to take her finger off the glass and ask a question no one else would know the answer to. So she did and asked for the initial of her mum’s middle name, to which the glass moved to the correct letter on the table. No one else touching the glass at the time would have known the answer to this.
During this Ouija session we all kept hearing what sounded like footsteps on the stairs. It only seemed to happen when we were all making noise. I asked the guests to be quiet for a few minutes while I called out to see if spirit would make the noise again, but unfortunately we didn’t hear it again. One of the guests also said she felt a sharp tug on her handbag which was around her shoulder.

Explosion Museum ghost hunt – 9th May 2015

Explosion Museum ghost hunt 9th May 2015
Gosport, Hampshire

This was our second visit to the museum and considering the time of year we had planned to use different buildings as it is light later in the evening. However some of the team who came in February wanted to use the same rooms and buildings.

I chose a building called C-Mag (Magazine).

This is one of the older parts of the museum and this magazine felt interesting. A magazines room is where gunpowder or ammunition would have been kept.

Both sessions we were joined by a male spirit called Chester who was a Navy man aged in his early 30s and quite a stern type of person from Second World War era. Chester wasn’t a talkative spirit although he did oblige when asked by the guests.

Chester was able to move the majority of people’s arms and push and pull people. Some of the movements were very gentle when moving the ladies whilst other times very forceful but this only affected the men. The arm movement was on command and the pushing and pulling back only happened to a few people, usually when they least expected it!

On several occasions a few people would be pulled to the floor by their hands and arms, this was also unexpected but not forceful, it was just like a heavy weight being applied to the shoulders, which in turn made each person slowly kneel down.

In the first session at various times we called out for spirit to repeat sounds that we were making, on one or two occasions we heard a whistle back, or a knock. All of these sounded like they came from an adjacent building although this was strange because there is no adjacent building!

In the second session although we asked several times nothing unusual was heard.

This was another excellent ghost hunt with all the guests having some form of paranormal experiences in one of their sessions.

Marwell Hall – 11th April 2015 (Wayne)

Thursday, April 30th, 2015

Marwell Hall ghost hunt 11th April 2015
Winchester, Hampshire

Seymour Room

Equipment used :- Ghost Pros, K2 Meters, Mel meter, Laser Grid, Full Spectrum Video and Still Cameras, SB7 Spirit Box and Digital Voice Recorders in all sessions.

Session 1

As always ghost pros and K2 meters were given to the guests to see if any communication could be established with spirit, almost immediately the ghost pros were lighting to indicate spirit presence.
2 female guests were talking to a female spirit that claimed to be Jane Seymour and another that said she was the spirit of the bride who became trapped in a chest and was not found until many years later.
We started a spirit box session and noticed a female scream lasting about 3 seconds over multiple sweeps, this was also heard by a male guest. Were these screams of the trapped bride?

Session 2

This next session became much more active with guests interacting with spirit and asking plenty of questions through the ghost pros.
We had male and female spirits present. A female guest managed to communicate with the bride on several occasions and also a male spirit that worked at the hall who died in the 1880s.
Another female guest using a ghost pro was speaking to a chamber maid in her 20s from the 1800s and an older chamber maid in her 50s from the 1700s.
We held EVP and Spirit box sessions but no voices were captured.

Session 3

Activity started before the guests came into the area, as just outside the doorway our next group could already sense spirit. A couple of the guests were being prodded by “unseen hands” and when they questioned Steve (GHE team) he told them that there had been the spirit of the “house master ” standing in that spot all evening and he keeps prodding people. All of the group where taking photos in and around the area before we went into the Seymour Room where the guests carried on taking photos as they were capturing many unexplained lights, orbs and the odd mist here and there. Ghost pros and K2s were being used by the guests that weren’t taking photos but they were having photos taken of them while they were trying to communicate.
Michaela captured 2 very bright anomalies located against the ornate woodwork which actually looked like light bulbs but clearly were not.
Free time

We (Wayne and Paula) joined with Louise (GHE team)  and the female guest and her boyfriend from Session 2 and went for a snoop around the building and eventually made our way to the room upstairs that Steve was using for all of his séance sessions, where we met Kerry (GHE team) and some of the other guests. We started to call out for spirit to copy our tapping and whistling but all was very quiet. After chatting about table tipping the huge table at Fort Amherst we decided to try table tipping with a large table that was in the room. The room is carpeted and the table has metal feet and was very heavy but we all gathered (probably about 8 of us) round the table and began to put our energy in to trying to get a spirit to move the table, which it did faster and faster the table then moved bit by bit across the room until it came to a standstill, then with no warning slid by itself in one smooth movement, amazing everyone, quickly back towards Kerry and Paula for about 12 inches.

Explosion Museum – 7th February 2015 (Wayne)

Friday, April 24th, 2015

Explosion Museum ghost hunt 7th February
Gosport, Hampshire

Missile Room and Cottages with Carl

Session 1
First of all we gave the guests a walk around as it was such a large area to show them where they could go and to give a brief summary of the location that we would be investigating.
A couple decided to go through to the cottages leading off from the main missile room while the rest of the guests spread out nicely throughout the area. Carl had placed REM Pods around the room, one of which he had placed on an old coffin carrier at the back of the room with an interactive bear. We also had a laser grid setup in the middle of the area. Guests were given ghost pros and K2 meters to communicate with spirit.
One of the guests in particular had amazing activity through her ghost pro, she established that a little girl named Carly aged 5 was with her and seemed to be following her as she moved around the area and the reason she had so much interaction with the guest (Stevie) was because she looked like her mum, most of this activity happened in the second part of the room but away from the coffin carrier where the REM Pod and bear had been placed. The next moment we were all called by Carl to go to the bear which was on the coffin carrier as it was alarming constantly and lit up like a Christmas tree as was the REM Pod.
Carly would then only communicate when Stevie asked a question or if Stevie asked her to cuddle the bear.
There was also another female spirit present in that area, a lady between 20-30 who could apparently see us which was established using the ghost pros.
As there were 2 spirits present we decided to use the SB7 which Carly came through on. She answered Stevie 4 times but we were unable to make out what she said but we could tell that the voice was that of a little girl with tone to her voice although some of us heard her say what we thought was her name “Carly” but couldn’t all be sure.

At the end of the session I spoke to the couple who were in the cottages for most of the time, they also found some unexplained goings on.
They had taken a K2 meter with them and started to call out and noticed that every time they mentioned the word “Explosion” the K2 went into the red so they decided to take photos on their phone whilst saying “Explosion” they had 2 pictures that were completely normal but the other 2 when they actually said “Explosion” had what looked like dust and shrapnel flying in to the room exactly as if an “Explosion” had happened outside and was blowing in to the room.

Session 2
Again we had a walk around with the guests. This time husband and wife guests managed to make contact with 2 spirits almost straight away using ghost pros.
They were both child spirits, a brother and sister that lived in the cottages but were playing in the missile room, running around and giggling. We then decided to bring the interactive bear and vibe pod over into the area where the guests said the children are playing and hiding.
The vibe pod and bear both lit up at times when it was claimed by the guests that the little girl was walking towards the bear, this was then also confirmed by the SB7 as a little girls voice came through saying “Happy” and “Teddy”.

We then lead the guests through to the cottages where again the word “Explosion” was used and triggered something as the K2 meter went into the red and almost immediately afterwards I (Wayne) had to leave the area feeling quite sick as did one of the guests.

Session 3
This last session became very quiet in the way of any activity. We had some movement on the K2s and also heard some footsteps which we all followed but Carl was at the front of the queue and saw with his own eyes a large shadow figure running through the missile room. We all went to investigate to see if anyone was in there mucking about but found no one.
We also tried for a time in the cottages with a laser grid but the only activity was with a guest that was using his own pendulum.

Marwell Hall – 11th April 2015 (Kerry)

Thursday, April 23rd, 2015

Marwell Hall ghost hunt 11th April 2015
Winchester, Hampshire

Equipment: Ouija board / Table tilting

Session 1 – Group B

My first group preferred to do glass work rather than Ouija. A spirit came through straight away, and after establishing our yes and no directions, found out we had a female spirit present. We asked her to move the glass the number of times for her age and this showed her to be 23 years old. She went on to tell us that she worked at the Hall as a lady-in-waiting, wasn’t married and had no children. We asked her to show us where she was standing by moving the glass in that direction, and she was standing behind the guest seated to my right.
After a while we moved to the other table to try some table tilting, and there was slight rocking initially but it was very difficult to get spirit to move the table much more than that. Although eventually the table did tilt up on two legs and held this position for a while. I kept encouraging spirit to try to spin the table and after a while the table did half a rotation, then stopped and there was no more movement after that.

Session 2 – Group C

A spirit came through on the Ouija by the name of Elizabeth who was 25 years old. She died in 1634 and said she had a daughter called Eleanor and they used to live in the building. Elizabeth also told us that she was burned in a fire, although this wasn’t how she died. This we were unable to establish. We then had another female spirit come through and start moving the glass. We were unable to get a name as she just kept moving the glass to random letters which didn’t make sense, although she told us she was 39 years old and died in 1950.
We experienced some very good table tilting in this session, with the table spinning and walking across the room. There were also taps heard on the table. At one point spirit walked the table right over to the door and started banging against it as if wanting to go out into the corridor. Louise saw the figure of a man standing by the other door.

Session 3 – Group A

The glass took a while to move but we started communicating with a 9-year-old girl by the name of Kirsty. She said she died in an accident involving a horse and carriage in 1864. We didn’t get any more information from her, and after a while a male spirit called Frederick came through. He was 27 years old and died in the 1750’s.
When it came to the table tilting, four people at a time went on the table as this was quite a large group. One group did not experience very much movement with the table, with just gentle rocking. The other group got lots of movement with the table spinning and walking around the room.

Marwell Hall ghost hunt – 11th April 2015

Thursday, April 23rd, 2015

Marwell Hall ghost hunt 11th April 2015
Winchester, Hampshire

This was our third visit to Marwell Hall and we were hopeful that it would be as active and interesting as our previous visits, as there are certain rooms which similar activity occurs every time we visit.

As always I chose the room upstairs to hold my séances, this is the room the staff don’t like, things happen in this room, it is also the room that the window bar moved on our previous visit.

In this room there were a couple of spirits; the first one I saw was a Footman he was about 5’11” and quite portly for his height, wearing faded navy trousers with leather boots and a dark Navy jacket, he was dressed similarly to the old Royal Mail uniforms. His name was Andrew although he wasn’t a talkative person he was able to move people.

The first group there was some arm movement although by comparison to other groups this was very minor because no-one (apart from me) encouraged the spirit to do anything.

The second group Andrew was able to lift everyone’s arms and twist people’s arm in the centre of the circle. He was also able to push and rock people and in some cases pull the people down to the floor by their arms. Many of the guests felt the pressure that he was able to assert on to their shoulders to force people to move. This pressure was forceful but not malicious in nature. He was also able to pull people backwards, usually quickly and surprisingly which the guests found fun and interesting because it happened so quickly and without warning. The majority of the movements were asked for and the spirit obliged with the requests.

After we finished with the séance as this room became very hot we sat around the table and asked for spirit to make some noises or repeat our knocks on the table. Many times we heard knocks and taps that sounded like they were made from underneath the table (all our hands were flat on top). Many times when everyone heard the knocks from spirit everyone pointed to a different part of the room or the table.

Whilst we were sitting around the table there was a female spirit who seemed to affect one end of the room. She was Victorian in dress but did not give me her name, in fact she didn’t really talk to me, and she just paced around the other end of the room. I stated at the time this was probably because all the men were sitting at the same end and she was affecting the women of the group. Several people felt a coldness like someone breathing on them, however this moved around the table and one person felt a brush across her face whilst another felt a physical touch, a finger or hand poke in the back, which surprised her!

The third group to this room, Andrew made himself know and moved just about everyone’s arms, he also was more able (or willing) to move people. He pushed one person down to the floor in a very embarrassing manner and lifted another person’s left leg a few inches off the floor much to her amazement and surprise. Whilst this was going on other people had their arms raised above their heads and arms and faces stroked, sometimes this was asked for other times not.

Once again after finishing the séance we sat around the table in the hope that we would hear more noises, but alas we didn’t. However the female spirit came through again and affected the same end of the room, with various people feeling cold spots and they too said that it felt like someone breathing a coldness onto them.

After all groups had spent time with all the team members doing different activities in different rooms. We then (as we always do) allow the guests to investigate on their own in any of the areas that they have been and the guests may borrow our ghost hunting equipment and Ouija boards. Many guests had great paranormal experiences on their own or in small groups. One group used our writing planchette and had various letters and names written as well as objects that they asked to be drawn.

Another group upstairs the room that I held the séances managed eventually to get a long table to be moved by spirit.

This was another excellent ghost hunt and we are looking forward to our second visit later in the year.

Marwell Hall ghost hunt – 25th October 2014

Monday, February 23rd, 2015

Marwell Hall ghost hunt 25th October 2014
Winchester, Hampshire

This was the second time that we had held an event at Marwell Hall and we were hoping for great paranormal experiences that greeted our guests on the first event. However no-one could have expected or anticipated what happened.

All of my sessions were held in a small room upstairs, this room felt odd when I walked into it when I first visited the Hall in the summer of 2013, the feeling hasn’t subsided.

The first group we were joined by Thomas, a butler & footman from 1903. Thomas wore a purple suit and was aged in his early 40s. We were also joined by Bridget aged 19 who was very shy.

The group experienced lots of physical movement from the spirits which resulting in their hands being moved and people being pushed in their backs.

We then moved to sit around the table and whilst sitting here we heard many footsteps outside the door, which was strange because no-one else was on this floor and if they were standing outside the door on the small landing we would have been able to see their shadow under the door.

Our taps on the table often resulted in repeat noises in the room, none of which were on or near to the table we were all sitting around, but the noises came from the walls or the window shutters instead.

The second group had much the same type of physical movement to start with in the séance, although this time the spirit (the same spirit as the first group) was able to move more people and more forcefully. Several people were pulled by their arms to the floor, or pulled back off their feet and swayed to and fro.

Suddenly we were all shocked to hear an almighty bang and a metal swinging sound. Having no idea what this noise could be, I immediately asked Jason (GHE team, who was filming this session) and he replied that it was the window shutter that had moved. This was exceptionally unusual because for this metal bar to swing (it keeps the window shutters shut) it has to be lifted up before it can swing freely. After this nerve racking séance session we decided to sit around the table and try some more table rapping. Much to my delight there were some more repeat sounds of our raps and more footfalls outside of the door.

The third group had much the same pushing and pulling in the séance, although this time just about everyone was affected. When we sat down around the table more noises were heard but they were not as loud as the previous two sessions, which was unfortunate.

After the controlled sessions we allowed the guests to investigate on their own in any of the rooms that we had used so far or return to a room with our ghost hunting equipment and experiment. Many guests had strange and unusual paranormal encounters during this free time.

We look forward to returning to Marwell Hall in 2015.
