Explosion Museum ghost hunt 14th November 2015
Gosport, Hampshire

explosion-museum-1

I knew this was going to be an interesting night as I chose to go to a different part of the museum that has not been investigated before.

Session 1:
I was joined by Sue and Jason (Team). Being a small group it was decided that the guests start with table tilting. I asked the spirits to step forward and join us and move the table for us in some way. Initially the table did not move. I asked the guests if they could all encourage spirit to come and move the table. With the energy from all the group the table began gently rocking at which point all the guests started laughing. Telling the guests that spirit like laughter one of the guests started telling jokes. This seemed to really work as the table lifted on to two legs and then quickly on to one leg and spun round in a clockwise direction. With more encouragement from the group the table started to slowly walk. The guests were all amazed by this as the table carried on walking the whole length of the room and back again.
I then asked the guests if they would like to try and communicate with spirit through the Ouija Board to which they all replied yes. With the help of Sue (team), the glass started to move very slowly. I encouraged spirit to step forward and communicate and please tell us their story. The glass went straight to hello. Sue then asked if we were talking to a male spirit to which spirit replied yes. He went on to tell us that his name was Peter and we found out he was a very private person and a little shy to talk to us. However, with encouragement from the whole group he then told us that he had two brothers called Edward and Cameron. At this point he seemed to come through very strong and went on to tell us that Cameron had killed him and his brother Edward by putting cyanide poisoning in their food. He told us that he had done this as revenge over an inheritance that was left by their Nan. He then went onto say his Mum was still alive and well when he received the inheritance but later fell ill. He nursed her through her illness but had no help from his other two brothers and this made him upset and angry as he worshipped his Mum. He gave the date of 1901 and said he was in charge of a warehouse that dealt with ammunition. This session was special as the movements on the board were very strong and quick and unusually he spelt out sentences and not just words

Session 2:
Again I started this session with the table tipping. Asking all the guests to encourage spirit to come and move the table, it started to gently rock back and fourth. I asked spirit to move the table like it had in session one. The table then tipped up onto one leg and spun round really first with all the guests finding it hard to keep up. Keep encouraging spirit, the table walked round in a full circle clockwise and then back again anti-clockwise. Asking spirit to communicate using the table tipping it right for a yes answer and left for a no answer, one of the guests asked if we were talking to a male spirit. The table tipped to the right and then back down and we could not get any more movement from the table.
We then moved onto the Ouija board and called spirit to come and join us. The glass only did very small movements on the table, but did eventually spell out the name of Hugh but no further communications
Session 3
In this session I was joined by Wayne and Paula (team). All of the guests asked if we could start on the table tipping as none of them had tried this before. Telling the guests, they all had to encourage spirit to come and move the table, they didn’t hesitate. Initially the table gently rocked from side to side. I asked spirit to come and move the table in some other way. The table tipped up on to two legs and held this position for some time. I stepped away from the table but told the guests to keep encouraging spirit to move the table for them. During this session we heard a loud bang come from the corner of the room and what sounded like a chair being scraped across the floor. We then heard really loud footsteps, and then it sounded like they were running towards us. At this point the table walked very first towards the Ouija board and abruptly stopped. We all took this as the spirit wanting to communicate through the board. As soon as we put our fingers on the glass it moved straight away spelling out the name Peter. I asked if we were talking to the same spirit as from session 1 and he confirmed yes. He then went on to confirm the names of is brothers Edward and Cameron, the cyanide poisoning, the family dispute over the inheritance left by his Nan and him having to look after his Mum. But then to our amazement he spelt out the sentence ‘thank you for being here I have loved speaking to you’ and we all cried.

Totally amazing night that blew the guests and the team members minds away.

Fort Amherst ghost hunt 11th December 2015
Chatham, Kent

fort-amherst-1

The Radio Room – Ouija, table tilting

We began this session by trying some table tilting, and for quite a long time, nothing happened but eventually the table started to rock gently, and after a while it tilted up on two legs. After much encouragement for spirit to do more with the table, it still was not responding very well, so I decided to move on to the Ouija. First of all, we were joined by a female spirit by the name of Wendy who was from 1885, and was 62-years-old. She seemed happy to communicate and told us that there were 6 spirits in the room with us including herself, but that not all of them were friendly. When we asked if she knew any of the other spirits, she replied no. The glass then stopped moving and we realised she had left us, but we were then joined by a male spirit called Timothy. Interestingly, our medium Steve had seen a spirit called Timothy in the same room during the previous session. Timothy then went on to tell us that he had been shot during the war in 1945, he was never married and had no children. One of the guests asked if he was happy that we were there and he replied yes. We asked if he had a message for us, to which he spelt out “say goodbye”. When asked if he wanted to say goodbye to someone who was still living, he responded with yes, and proceeded to tell us that he wanted to say goodbye to his sister, Ruth. He told us that he is always at the fort and likes being there. We also had a lot of responses on the ghost pro which was corresponding to the responses on the Ouija board.

Unfortunately, in the second session we had no movement on the Ouija after several attempts at asking spirit to join us, so we tried some table tilting. It was slow to start with but the table did start to rock and tilt, and eventually we had some random spins, which the guests enjoyed. Spirit also walked the table a little.

Rye Castle ghost hunt 22nd August 2015
Rye, East Sussex

Rye Castle is an interesting Venue, albeit small the activity and atmosphere is different on every occasion, which makes it one of my favourite places to visit.
Only having one group made the ghost hunt more interesting as the guests had all got to know each other before I started my table tipping and glass work session in the Women’s Tower. This meant that the guests were much more comfortable, willing and not afraid to encourage spirit to come forward

Women’s Tower
Table tipping and glass work
At the start of each session, I split the group of eight guests into four so everybody had a chance to participate in each activity. Some of the guests had already done table tipping so were eager to get started.

Group 1
The first group of guests on the table immediately started to encourage spirit and the table begun to move straight away. Movement was slow at first, but with a bit more encouragement the table started to spin and carry out random movements having us running around in circles.
One of the guests then asked spirit if they could possibly walk the table, and to our amazement the table started walking towards the door, up the steps and into the courtyard. All guest were shocked by the way spirit seemed to keep stopping the table as if to work out how to move the table in the right direction to negotiate the steps.

Group 2
With the second group, we had some light movement of the table, but it was quieter. I then asked spirit if they would like to communicate to us by using the glass instead of table tipping. We asked spirit to move the table to the right for a yes answer, and to the left for a no answer. Spirit agreed to speak through the glass work. Some of the guests didn’t want to participate in this activity, but were more than happy to watch.
Once again asking spirit to move the glass left or right for yes and no answers the glass moved immediately. We had a male spirit come through who told us he was a guard at the tower and looked after the ladies, and told us he very much enjoyed his job as he liked making the ladies laugh.

Very enjoyable sessions with some amazing table tipping, can’t wait for our next visit

Red Lion Hotel – 16th May 2015 (Kym)

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt 16th May 2015
Colchester, Essex

Area: Room’s 6 & 7
Equipment: Tech Equip, Dowsing Rods & Pendulums, Writing Planchette, Glass Work

Group C – We started in room 7 using the rods & pendulums, and all had some movement.  After establishing their yes & no movements, guests communicated with the female & male spirits with us, also asking to point the rods to where the spirit was standing, which they did.  We did some glasswork, which started moving and we established our yes & no.  The spirit was female, and had her son with her.  Whilst doing this we heard a knock on the door, on checking no-one was there and as the floor creaks in the corridor and there is another door outside, we were sure we would have heard if someone there. We then heard two knocks on the chest of drawers in the room.  To reduce the noise contamination in the room, we decided two people stayed in the room at a time, whilst the remaining guests went with me to room 6 to do tech equip.  We had lots of activity on the KII’s and Ghost Pro’s, nothing on the SB7 (Spirit Box), but had the following strong words on the Ovilus II: mommy, enough, run.  The pairs of guests in room 7 did have some strange things happen too, definitely feeling a presence in the room with them.

Group A – Again started in room 7 with rods & pendulums, and all had movement.  They were communicating again with a female & male spirit.  We tried with all 8 guests doing glasswork, but with nothing happening I split the group with 3 guests in room 6 doing kit, and the remaining 5 continuing with the glasswork in 7.  Lots of activity on KII’s, Ghost Pro’s and Ovilus II, and when checking back in room 7 the glass had been moving a lot.  They had asked the spirit to take the glass to the birthday girl which it did.  Seemed a lovely fun spirit.

Group B – Started with the rods & pendulums and had a female spirit communicating with us, and then we had a boy.  I split the group with half in room 6 doing tech, and the rest in room 7 doing glasswork.  With activity in room 6 on all the equipment it was noted some of the strong words on the Ovilus II were water & rabbit.  With the glasswork we had the boy communicating with us.  He was 12 years old and had drowned.  It was not an accident.  His name was Robert and from the 1500’s.  Asking who he would like to ask the questions, the glass went to Lisa (guest).  She reminded him of his mum.  When the tech group came in and said the words water & rabbit had appeared on the Ovilus, we linked water to the boy drowning.  And asked if he had a rabbit as toy, it answered yes.  He also had a twin brother.

Now into the free session, the guests in room 7 decided to stay and try the writing planchette, and we were all amazed to see a picture of rabbit being drawn by the boy.

Rye Castle (Ypres Tower) ghost hunt 25th April 2015
Rye, East Sussex

Area: Women’s Tower/Prison
Equipment: Writing Planchette, Glass Work, Table Tipping, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums

Group B – We started with table tipping, and could feel the table trying to move.  Some guests were feeling a tingly sensation under their hands whilst touching the table.  Two guests felt they were being touched on their shoulder at the same time.  But with only slight movement we switched to glasswork.  Ted (curator) was sensing a familiar female spirit nearby, and he was being pushed/pulled throughout, but with no movement on the glass we tried the writing planchette.  Again had no movement on the planchette but could feel the table gently moving again.  Whilst asking for the table to move, Ted & I could sense it was a child trying to move it.  As not much more movement we tried the pendulums & dowsing rods.  Everyone was able to ask spirit some questions, and yes it was a small boy aged around six.  He knew the female spirit, was a mother figure but not his mother.  Ted had the names Emma & John given to him.

Group A – We started with table tipping and the table started rocking immediately.  Asking spirit to move the table to show a yes & no, we established the spirit was a male jailor.  He was the nicer jailor, who didn’t like the other jailor.  The table would move however we asked, lifting a particular way, spinning, and walking towards the door when asked.  We asked spirit to lift/move the table to show us where is was standing, and it lifted towards the corner of the room next to us.  Asking spirit if he would like to communicate with us using the glass or writing planchette he chose the glass.  Again the glass started moving straight away, in very fast circles around the table.  We asked spirit to take the glass towards where he was, the glass now moved towards the door.  Ted commented he often stands in those two places when here.  The jailor answered a few more questions:  he worked in the main building in 1840, the women’s tower was built when he was here, and he was scared of the other jailor who was his boss and not nice to the women.  He was aged 34 and died of natural causes, and was buried in Rye church graveyard.  He was married with no children.  We asked spirit to draw using the glass, his first initial.  He drew what looked like a M or W.  Moving the glass to yes he confirmed it was the letter M.  We asked spirit to try and tell us his name and one guest had the name Matthew, the spirit confirmed this was his name.  We then tried the writing planchette and the pen/planchette started moving in lots of random circles.  We asked again for spirit to draw his initials, which looked like M – O or D – S.  Louise (guest) was feeling unwell during this and had to sit down, and didn’t start feeling better until she left the area.  We did try table tipping again, and again had lots of tipping and spinning.  We also tried pushing the table back down when it was lifted up, and with all taking it in turns was amazed by the strength we had to use to push the table back down on to the floor.  When Ted tried he was unable to push the table back down.  This amazed us all, and we could not believe the power/force behind it.

I love Rye Castle – a fantastic venue, with something different happening every time we go!

Colchester Town Hall – 17th April 2015 (Kerry)

Friday, May 15th, 2015

Colchester Town Hall ghost hunt 17th April 2015
Colchester, Essex

The Mayor’s Parlour
Ouija/Table tilting

Session 1 – Group B

The group were split so that half were on the Ouija and half doing table tilting.
With the first group, the glass took a very long time to move, but eventually it moved to the letters T and R. When asked if this was spirit’s initials, the glass then moved to Yes. Then the glass moved to numbers 2 and 3, and the glass confirmed that spirit’s age was 23 by once again moving to Yes. The group continued asking more questions to try and gain more information, but unfortunately there was no more movement on the glass after this.
The group on the other table had just slight rocking initially, then the table tilted up on one side. However, despite our best efforts to encourage spirit to move the table more or to spin it, unfortunately there wasn’t much more movement apart from gentle rocking and the occasional tilt.
We then swapped over and once again on the Ouija the glass didn’t move, but guests kept feeling coldness and touches on their arms. I also felt like I was touched on my left hand. One guest said they felt hands on their shoulders and another felt a push on their back.
When the other group tried the table tilting, they had movement straight away, with rocking and spinning, and at one point the table was spinning so fast that one of the guests fell onto the floor! He got back up to carry on and the table continued to spin and twist. When I asked spirit to walk the table across the room, it proceeded to do so, stopped halfway, and there was no more movement after that. During this session I felt a touch on my right cheek and also on my left leg below the knee.
On leaving the room a few of the guests explained feeling a static sensation all over which lasted for some time.

Session 2 – Group C

The guests said they would prefer to do glass work rather than Ouija, so we went and sat at another table in the room with just the glass on it, and tried to get spirit to come forward and move the glass. Unfortunately after trying for some time, the glass didn’t move so I suggested trying the writing planchette. Once again, despite our best efforts, there was still no movement. The guests then decided to try the Ouija, and after a while the glass started to move. We connected with a 12-year-old girl, and when we asked for a name the glass moved to the letters A,S, and K. We kept asking questions to try and get some more information, but the glass stopped moving, and it seemed the spirit had gone.
There was some very good table tilting experienced by everyone during this session. There was very gentle movement to start with, and it gradually picked up speed as the table continued to tilt and rock. It took a lot of encouragement to get the table to spin, as if spirit didn’t know how to do it. The table seemed to move fairly cautiously at first, with the movements gradually getting stronger, and eventually the table was spinning quite fast, to the amazement of the guests.

Session 3 – Group A

We tried table tilting first, and as soon as we placed our hands on it, the table started to move. Slowly at first, then it started rocking and spinning. It eventually started walking across the room. We decided to try and ask spirit some questions using the table, so we established our yes and no directions and discovered that we had a male spirit with us, who was in his seventies and used to be a Mayor.
The group then decided to try some glass work, and a male spirit came through who seemed to be connected to guest Steve Downs in some way. We asked spirit to draw his initial on the table with the glass and he drew a D. We soon found out his name was Daniel, in his thirties, had four children, and was Eastern European. He said he was connected to Steve on his grandfather’s side, but Steve couldn’t think where the connection could be, so would have to check on it with other members of his family.

Fort Amherst – 21-03-2015 (Kerry)

Monday, March 30th, 2015

Fort Amherst ghost hunt 21st March 2015
Chatham. Kent

Location: The Cave
Equipment: Ouija and table tilting.

Session 1 – Group C (VIPs)

We began the session by splitting the group so that some were on the Ouija and the others around the table. As soon as we placed our hands on the table it began to rock gently and the movement gradually got stronger. When requested to do so, spirit tilted the table up onto one leg and did a complete rotation. I came off the table at this point and asked spirit to try and walk the table down the two steps beside us, which it did to the guests amazement. We continued encouraging spirit to walk the table and it continued walking towards the barrels and tried to manoeuvre between two of them. It was a bit of a struggle as there wasn’t much room between them, but spirit seemed very persistent and eventually managed to squeeze the table through! The table then started picking up speed and continued walking down into the tunnel. Kym and I started calling out asking spirit to bring the table back, but the table just kept going! After a while the table did stop walking and started rocking from side to side quite violently as if in protest. It seemed it didn’t want to go back to where we started, and just wanted to keep going! We continued asking spirit to bring the table back and after a while it started walking back up the tunnel, re-tracing its steps, and took the table right back to where we started. The guests were amazed by what they had just experienced.
Sue was with the other guests on the Ouija table and they connected with a male spirit of 71 years, although they were unable to get a name. Sue sensed this man had breathing problems. He was never married, had no children, and he used to do maintenance work at the fort. After giving this information it became clear that he did not wish to communicate further.
The guests then swapped round so the others who were doing the table tilting could try the Ouija, and a male spirit by the name of Alan came through. He was 34 years old and died in 1904 via a gunshot to the head, his right temple. He said he was a civilian and not a soldier, was shot by his friend and was sad that his life had ended so early.
Before our session ended we thought we would try asking spirit if they were able to move one of the large barrels in the same way it had moved the table. So we gathered around one of them and placed our hands on the top and to our amazement the barrel started rocking from side to side, gradually getting faster and making lots of noise. Our time was up after a short time so we thanked spirit for their cooperation and finished the session.

Session 2 – Group A

Unfortunately on this session we didn’t get much activity. The group was split once again, and we had no movement from the glass at all on the Ouija, so a couple of the guests moved over to try the table tilting. There was a slight rocking on the table initially but even with all our encouragement it was difficult to get much more movement than that. Although the table did eventually tilt up on two legs and held this position for a while. The table then moved back to its starting position and there was no more movement. The guests who hadn’t tried the Ouija decided to have a go, and again there was no movement on the glass for quite some time. It was only about 10 minutes before the end of the session that the glass started moving, but we were unable to get any information as spirit only seemed interested in randomly moving the glass around the table.

Session 3 – Group B

Once again at the start of this session there was no movement on the Ouija so the guests decided to try the table tilting. The table took a while to move, but it eventually started to rock gently. The guests were very quiet so I kept urging them to join me in encouraging spirit to move the table. When everyone started to join in, the table started moving faster and spirit seemed to respond better to the noise we made. Whenever everyone went quiet the table would slow down and stop moving. We eventually managed to get spirit to spin the table on one leg and walk the table down the steps.

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt – 7th March 2015 (Kym)

Wednesday, March 18th, 2015

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt 7th March 2015
Colchester, Essex

Area: Room’s 9 + 10
Equipment: Scrying, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, Glass Work

Group B – Started in room 9 by showing the guests how to use the dowsing rods & pendulums, and all were amazed by the movement they received.  Most had a male spirit with them.  Louise (guest) had the name Simon.  Asking the rods confirmed yes that was his name.  We tried some scrying but wasn’t able to see much change.  We then went to room 10 to try some glasswork and after while we did get some movement on the glass.  One guest Shane stopped touching the glass and started asking spirit questions in his head, and was amazed that the glass started moving much faster, and moving to where he was asking.  The spirit was a boy aged 12 called Simon.  He drew the letter S for his first initial.  He was with his mum, but not his dad.  His dad wasn’t very nice.  They had both been killed by the dad.  They had lived here at the hotel.

Group A – With the next group we again started in room 9 with the rods & pendulums and had lots of movement.  We tried some scrying but couldn’t see any changes.  We moved to room 10.  Whilst some guests were trying some glass work, others were taking it in turns to stand in the short corridor joining the two rooms.  Taps were being heard in the door to room 9 but no-one was in there.  We did get some glass movement when our time was up, stayed for a short while longer and the glass was moving around the table rapidly.

Area: Restaurant
Equipment: Ouija, Table Tipping, Writing Planchette

Group B – This group decided not to stay so I joined Steve in room 10 for the Tech Session.  We were initially using Ghost Pro’s & Mel Meter.  Also our newest member of the team, Tarquin the Boo Buddy Bear was with us.  It was noted when the bear said it was getting warm in here, the temperature on the Mel meter increased, but not by significant amounts i.e.. 73.4 to 73.9.  We then turned on the Ovilus and was receiving words that did seem to match the bear i.e.. Play time and the word “play” being shown.  We turned on the Spirit Box but had no words at all.  Throughout the ghost pro’s were lighting up and guests were asking various questions.  Some guests in room 9 came through asking if we had whistled, as they had been hearing whistling the room, but we hadn’t and had not heard the whistling at all.

Group A – This last controlled session we started with the four male guests on the ouija and Steve assisting.  I joined the remaining four guests on the writing planchette but had no movement at all.  On the ouija the spirit of Timothy was with them.  He was six years old and seemed to just want to play.  We then tried some table tipping and immediately the table started lifting.  The table then lifted on one corner and started turning, faster when we asked.  We then asked if spirit could take the table into the adjoining room to the bar, and the table started sliding, similar to skiing, towards the bar.  It then continued to lift and spin when we asked.

For the free session myself and Louise joined four guests in the cellar who had the ouija board.  They had a male spirit with them who had worked in this building in the 1400’s before it was the Red Lion.  He had died in the cellar of a heart attack.  They had heard him talking next to them before we had come down.

Fun night with some lovely guests!

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt 13th February 2015 (Kym)

Tuesday, March 10th, 2015

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt 13th February 2015
Colchester, Essex

Area: Room 6
Equipment: Scrying, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, Glass Work

Group B – With my first group we started by using the rods & pendulums, and some guests had movement to their surprise and were able to ask the spirits some questions.  We had two spirits with us – male & female.  Whilst I was standing between bed & window I had an odd feeling, felt I was being pushed too.  Asking the rods to point where the spirit was standing they pointed to that area.  Others stood in that area and felt it too.  Whilst trying the scrying the guests were seeing a male face each time, but was also seeing their face disappear too.  One guest was feeling a strong pressure to his lower back, and then suddenly it went.  With the glass work, the glass started moving around the table slowly at first.  We asked spirit to move the glass towards the torch for yes if willing to answer some questions, and away for no.  We established this was a female spirit, who I had met here before.  I asked her to draw her first initial, which seemed to resemble an I or A.  I think it may have been Alice with us.  Knowing Alice likes to move the glass a lot I asked a guest to think in his head, whilst he wasn’t touching the glass, for Alice to take the glass to a certain person.  The glass moved to where he was thinking.  Again he asked again, and the glass moved correctly again.  We then asked Alice to draw a big circle around the table which she did.  The glass stopped moving, so we were asking out to spirit to do other things in the room, like make a noise, move something,  and two guests sitting on the bed felt like someone sat down behind them, no-one did, and another guest who had her foot slightly under the bed felt it go down on her foot.  We were also hearing noises in the corridor, but when we opened the bedroom door we heard nothing more.

Group A – My first session with group A we started by using the rods & pendulums.  Many were familiar with communicating with spirit and got answers to many questions.  We had a male and female spirit with us.  We tried some scrying and again they were seeing male and female faces, glasses, and moustache and dark eyebrows.  When Chris (guest) sat in front of the mirror, he started swaying back and forth.  His breathing started getting very heavy.  Asking if he was okay we had no answer.  Spirit had stepped a little close and was preventing him to respond.  I put my hand on his back and asked spirit to step away, calling Chris’s name several times before he was back with us.  He could hear us, and felt my hand but felt distant.  Helen, another guest, tried and again she went into a trance but this is something she had done before and didn’t mind.  We then tried some glass work, and the glass started moving immediately.  We had a male spirit with us but seemed reluctant to answer any questions at first.  He had been murdered within the last 50 years.  Had visited Colchester when alive, and had been married with a child.  Chris kept getting the name James, Helen had the initial J but thought Jack, I then had the name Emma.  Spirit confirmed he was called James, his wife Emma and his son was Jack.  We asked if it was James that had affect Chris, but no it was another spirit, asking if we should be wary of that spirit the glass answered yes.  One guest on the bed kept feeling her hair being touched, asking spirit to take the glass to where he was standing and the glass moved to that person.  Asking spirit to make a movement on the bed, before I had finished saying it, the guest felt someone sit down on the bed behind her.  Asking spirit how they passed, one guest felt a sharp pain on her head.  Asking spirit if that was how he died, answered yes.  We then asked spirit if he had enjoyed being in Colchester when he was alive – yes.  He had had some fun times here.  Him and his family had passed to the light, and the person that had murdered them all had been punished.  The guests did ask spirit to move the glass while they wern’t touching it, although it didn’t move, whilst their hands were touching the table they did feel the table move.

Area: Restaurant
Equipment: Ouija, Table Tipping, Writing Planchette

Group B – We initially started with Ouija and table tipping but had no movement.  I then split the group with three trying table tipping and three with the writing planchette.  The table did started moving, and the writing planchette was also moving slightly.  All guests then switched back to the table tipping, which lifted up a few times.  We then tried the Ouija again and received the letters T and G for the spirits name, and age 6.  We were feeling cold spots around us, on our hands, and also on the empty chair at the table too.  Did try table tipping again, and it did lift up and try to spin a little too.

Group A – Starting with the Ouija the spirits that came through were all connected to those sitting at the table.  First we had Chris’s Granddad called Pat aged 75 and had passed 1 year ago.  Chris was able to receive some lovely messages.  Then the glass spelled Jennifer which was Chris’ Nan.  Then the glass spelled Tony age 52 and knew Helen, this was an old customer from when she worked in a pub.  Then an Aunt came through for Marc.  We then tried some table tipping, and straight away we had lots of movement, rocking, spinning, with many random unexpected twists and turns.  With the writing planchette they had one big curve, similar to the letter C.
A great night with such lovely guests making the evening truly entertaining – thank you!

Shire Hall ghost hunt 24th January 2015
Hereford, Herefordshire

Equipment: Table tilting, Ouija, Writing Planchette, Rods and Pendulums.
Area: Concert Hall

1st Session

We started the first session with the writing planchette, and unfortunately didn’t get any movement but we all kept feeling cold spots and heard a couple of taps on the table. Kym picked up on a young male spirit, aged 19, by the name of Matthew.
We then tried using the rods and pendulums and everyone had movement in response to their questions. We established there were three spirits present, two male and one female. I felt a very cold breeze on my right cheek and right hand whilst holding the pendulum, and when I asked if spirit was standing to my right, it responded with yes.
We then moved to the stage where we had set up the table. Initially we had a few taps, and when we asked spirit to do this again, it did so. There were then some creaks as the table started gently tilting up on one side, followed by gentle rocking from side to side.
During the Ouija session, a spirit came through and was moving the glass but was just going over random letters and we were unable to obtain any information from them.
2nd Session

We started with the Ouija, and as we waited for spirit to join us we felt cold spots on our hands and noticed a significant drop in temperature around us. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, the glass did not move on this occasion.
We then decided to try some table tilting, and there were very gentle movements at first. Kym sensed there was a female spirit present. We kept encouraging spirit to move the table, and after a while it started tilting from side to side. I asked spirit to tip the table onto one leg, and after a while it did so and spun the table right round then stopped. There was no more movement after that.
While we were using the rods and pendulums, Kym and I connected with a female spirit. I felt very cold on my left side and had a sense that there was someone standing there. When asked if there was, my pendulum responded with a yes. Kym determined that this lady’s name was Ann, without an ‘e’, as that’s what she was hearing spirit telling her. She had dark, permed hair and a slim figure. She was dressed in 70’s clothing, with a brown skirt, floral shirt with a winged collar. She was 23 years old and worked in admin. A couple of the guests decided to have a wander over to the stage area with their rods and pendulums, and they connected with a male spirit who was making them laugh with responses to their questions.
3rd Session

We had quite a large group this time so split the group so that half were on the Ouija and half doing table tilting. As soon as we started the Ouija the glass moved immediately. We asked for a name but couldn’t understand what was being spelt as it just seemed like random letters. We thought it might be a foreign name and when asked if the spirit was English, the glass moved to no. We soon established that we had a 12 year old boy with us who died in 1604 and was strangled by his parents. He had a 3 year old sister who was also killed at the same time by their parents. He seemed unable to spell anything out in English, but could understand our questions and responded with a yes or no.
Kym was with the other group on the table and they had slight movement initially, but then decided to try some glass work. A male spirit in his 20’s came and moved the glass and drew the letters C and O, but they were unsure what this meant. It could have been his initials or the first two letters of his Christian name. They found out that he was hanged in the 1700’s, but was not guilty.
