Explosion Museum ghost hunt 24th July 2015
Gosport, Hampshire

Area: Officers Admin Building
Equipment: Pendulums and Dowsing Rods

Group B – This was a lovely old untouched building, with a tremendous amount of atmosphere to it, and I wanted the guests to enjoy exploring and feeling the energies around them.  With Louise’s assistance we showed the guests how to use the rods & pendulums, establishing their yes & no’s, and then communicating with spirit.  We had a male spirit with us initially who worked here in the 1900’s.  The spirit said there were more than 10 spirits in this building with us.  Everyone then went off to explore, myself I ventured to the opposite end of the corridor into a small room and immediately felt like I was being punched in the stomach, not a physical feeling could just sense this.  I felt there were two men in here that had fought.  Louise joined me and said what she had picked up here: A male spirit called Arthur, worked in the building, died in the 1950’s age 41, was married with two children.  His wife had died during childbirth in her 30’s, his children are still alive.  He worked with his brother who also died here, they didn’t get on and fought alot, and a possible fight here.  Whilst on her own later Louise asked spirit to give her a sign, and she had pins & needles suddenly in her left hand.  We stayed for a short while talking to the spirits, I asked for the spirits name I was talking to and was given the name Peter, Louise said she was also given this but when asked if that was the spirits name her pendulum said no, I asked if I was talking to Arthur’s brother called Peter, and my pendulum said yes.  Peter also confirmed there was a fight in this room with his brother.  He was here 1925-1950, and died aged 47.

We joined the guests downstairs, and one guest said he felt uncomfortable in the bathroom and wouldn’t enter that room.  We went with him, and could feel the energy when entering that room.  It felt like a static energy all around us.  I sensed someone had been strangled here, and could feel pressure on my throat.  Louise was also picking up on the same.  All three of us could feel the energy, but also quite bizarrely we all felt it suddenly go at the same time.

Group A – Again we started in the large end room upstairs with showing the guests how to use the rods & pendulums.  We asked spirit what this room was used for and it was the recreation room.  Louise had connected with a female spirit called Mary, she had worked here, and died here, age 49 in 1944.  She worked here in the war as a maid/housekeeper.  She had not married and had no children.  A guest (Kim) joined her, and Louise asked her to see what she could find out from the spirit, and Kim got exactly the same, including the name Mary.  I was with the remaining guests who were initially picking up on the two brothers from earlier, and were surprised by the amount of energies in the room, with rods & pendulums spinning erratically.  We all then went downstairs, and could hear noises, at first thinking they were from upstairs, then realising they were in a room next to them, followed the noise.  They sensed they were talking to a mischievous male spirit.  Louise took Kim (guest) to the bathroom that we felt the energy in earlier, and with no knowledge from myself of Louise, Kim could feel the energy, could sense someone had been strangled, and by using her rods had confirmation that someone was murdered here by strangulation.

Area: Grand Magazine
Equipment: Ouija, Table Tipping, Writing Planchette

Group B – I had now moved to the Grand Magazine and started with five guests and myself on the ouija, and Louise with two guests trying table tipping.  The table started moving very gently at first, and establishing their yes & no found out they were talking to two children.  Then the table started moving with a lot more energy, and was able to confirm this was now a male spirit.  On the ouija we didn’t have any movement on the glass, but did feel the table move.  We did try asking spirit to move the table, but with no movement we switched to the writing planchette.  Although we didn’t get any drawings, the planchette did move up and down, and the guests were able to communicate with the spirit this way.  I did join the others on the table tipping, and asked spirit to lift the table up so we could all feel how strong the spirit was by trying to push the table back down, which was incredibly hard.  Two male guests tried the ouija and had some glass movement with the letters P D Q then the glass went to goodbye.  The five guests then tried some table tipping together and had some movement, whilst I joined the two ladies on the ouija.  We had a male spirit called Mark, from 1824 and was married with 4 children.  He didn’t work here, but did live here.

Group A – This group of guests had a lot of experience talking to spirit so didn’t really need our assistance, so initially Louise & I asked spirit to move a chair whilst we rested our hands on it.  And to our surprise the chair started rocking quite fast, and did twist slightly.  I then joined the guests as they had stopped the table tipping and were asking spirit to move the glass on the table for yes & no answers.  They were talking to a 13 year old boy, who worked on HMS Victory as a powder monkey.  He knew Nelson and was involved in battlement on the ship, and had died in combat on the ship, although it did not sink.  He was at the battle of Trafalgar.  He gave the year initially as 1850.  They were fighting the Spanish.  They were also able to establish the spirit’s name was William Henry.  We then switched to the ouija table and the spirit stayed with them.  Asking spirit to spell his name, he gave us William Henry.  Asking for his family name he spelt FUGR twice.  Asking if he meant Fergus – confirmed yes.  He also confirmed he was 13 years old, but the year was 1803.  He had 4 brothers and 1 sister.  He was the middle child.  His mother died in childbirth.  His father and other children fought too.  William died in an accident, a canon had backfired.

Some guests wanted to return to the Admin Building with the Ouija and when they came back said they had spoken to the female spirit Louise & Kim had spoken to earlier, and she confirmed her name was Mary Smith.  Also they took the Ouija in to the bathroom and spoke to the sprit(s) there and confirmed that a man was strangled there because he was gay.

Wow – what an amazing place – still didn’t explore everywhere so definitely looking forward to coming back!

Red Lion Hotel – 16th May 2015 (Kym)

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt 16th May 2015
Colchester, Essex

Area: Room’s 6 & 7
Equipment: Tech Equip, Dowsing Rods & Pendulums, Writing Planchette, Glass Work

Group C – We started in room 7 using the rods & pendulums, and all had some movement.  After establishing their yes & no movements, guests communicated with the female & male spirits with us, also asking to point the rods to where the spirit was standing, which they did.  We did some glasswork, which started moving and we established our yes & no.  The spirit was female, and had her son with her.  Whilst doing this we heard a knock on the door, on checking no-one was there and as the floor creaks in the corridor and there is another door outside, we were sure we would have heard if someone there. We then heard two knocks on the chest of drawers in the room.  To reduce the noise contamination in the room, we decided two people stayed in the room at a time, whilst the remaining guests went with me to room 6 to do tech equip.  We had lots of activity on the KII’s and Ghost Pro’s, nothing on the SB7 (Spirit Box), but had the following strong words on the Ovilus II: mommy, enough, run.  The pairs of guests in room 7 did have some strange things happen too, definitely feeling a presence in the room with them.

Group A – Again started in room 7 with rods & pendulums, and all had movement.  They were communicating again with a female & male spirit.  We tried with all 8 guests doing glasswork, but with nothing happening I split the group with 3 guests in room 6 doing kit, and the remaining 5 continuing with the glasswork in 7.  Lots of activity on KII’s, Ghost Pro’s and Ovilus II, and when checking back in room 7 the glass had been moving a lot.  They had asked the spirit to take the glass to the birthday girl which it did.  Seemed a lovely fun spirit.

Group B – Started with the rods & pendulums and had a female spirit communicating with us, and then we had a boy.  I split the group with half in room 6 doing tech, and the rest in room 7 doing glasswork.  With activity in room 6 on all the equipment it was noted some of the strong words on the Ovilus II were water & rabbit.  With the glasswork we had the boy communicating with us.  He was 12 years old and had drowned.  It was not an accident.  His name was Robert and from the 1500’s.  Asking who he would like to ask the questions, the glass went to Lisa (guest).  She reminded him of his mum.  When the tech group came in and said the words water & rabbit had appeared on the Ovilus, we linked water to the boy drowning.  And asked if he had a rabbit as toy, it answered yes.  He also had a twin brother.

Now into the free session, the guests in room 7 decided to stay and try the writing planchette, and we were all amazed to see a picture of rabbit being drawn by the boy.

Rye Castle – 25th April 2015 (Kym)

Rye Castle (Ypres Tower) ghost hunt 25th April 2015
Rye, East Sussex

Area: Women’s Tower/Prison
Equipment: Writing Planchette, Glass Work, Table Tipping, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums

Group B – We started with table tipping, and could feel the table trying to move.  Some guests were feeling a tingly sensation under their hands whilst touching the table.  Two guests felt they were being touched on their shoulder at the same time.  But with only slight movement we switched to glasswork.  Ted (curator) was sensing a familiar female spirit nearby, and he was being pushed/pulled throughout, but with no movement on the glass we tried the writing planchette.  Again had no movement on the planchette but could feel the table gently moving again.  Whilst asking for the table to move, Ted & I could sense it was a child trying to move it.  As not much more movement we tried the pendulums & dowsing rods.  Everyone was able to ask spirit some questions, and yes it was a small boy aged around six.  He knew the female spirit, was a mother figure but not his mother.  Ted had the names Emma & John given to him.

Group A – We started with table tipping and the table started rocking immediately.  Asking spirit to move the table to show a yes & no, we established the spirit was a male jailor.  He was the nicer jailor, who didn’t like the other jailor.  The table would move however we asked, lifting a particular way, spinning, and walking towards the door when asked.  We asked spirit to lift/move the table to show us where is was standing, and it lifted towards the corner of the room next to us.  Asking spirit if he would like to communicate with us using the glass or writing planchette he chose the glass.  Again the glass started moving straight away, in very fast circles around the table.  We asked spirit to take the glass towards where he was, the glass now moved towards the door.  Ted commented he often stands in those two places when here.  The jailor answered a few more questions:  he worked in the main building in 1840, the women’s tower was built when he was here, and he was scared of the other jailor who was his boss and not nice to the women.  He was aged 34 and died of natural causes, and was buried in Rye church graveyard.  He was married with no children.  We asked spirit to draw using the glass, his first initial.  He drew what looked like a M or W.  Moving the glass to yes he confirmed it was the letter M.  We asked spirit to try and tell us his name and one guest had the name Matthew, the spirit confirmed this was his name.  We then tried the writing planchette and the pen/planchette started moving in lots of random circles.  We asked again for spirit to draw his initials, which looked like M – O or D – S.  Louise (guest) was feeling unwell during this and had to sit down, and didn’t start feeling better until she left the area.  We did try table tipping again, and again had lots of tipping and spinning.  We also tried pushing the table back down when it was lifted up, and with all taking it in turns was amazed by the strength we had to use to push the table back down on to the floor.  When Ted tried he was unable to push the table back down.  This amazed us all, and we could not believe the power/force behind it.

I love Rye Castle – a fantastic venue, with something different happening every time we go!

Fort Horsted ghost hunt – 28-3-2015 (Kym)

Fort Horsted ghost hunt 28th March 2015
Chatham, Kent

Area: Hanging Room
Equipment: Ouija, Table Tipping, Writing Planchette, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums

Group C – We started with 4 guests on table tipping, and the other 4 on Ouija.  The guests on the table had worked with spirit before so immediately starting getting movement.  They asked spirit to move the table showing yes & no, and were able to identify the spirit with them.  It was a male spirit called Ned, aged 34, had been strangled at the fort, and was Saxon.  On the Ouija we didn’t get any movement, so we started using the dowsing rods & pendulums and was able to ask spirit some questions.  We then swapped the guests over.  The table did start moving slightly, but we also heard taps underneath the table.  We then switched to the writing planchette, and stating that we only had 8 minutes left, the writing planchette started moving and drew and number 8.  As we were feeling the table moving we said if this spirit was a male, surely they cannot move both, but to our surprise the planchette and table both started moving.  And again we were hearing taps underneath the table.  The other group were using the rods and were getting lots of movement.

Group A – With this group the table started tipping immediately, and it was still Ned with us.  As only slight movement on the Ouija, everyone went on the table.  After a lot of movement, the table went quiet for a short while, but as soon as I suggested we try the writing planchette, the table started moving again.  They table ‘walked’ from one end of the room the other.  We then asked spirit to take the table to where he was standing, and the table walked to the top of the stairs, where I and Tim (guest) were standing.  We asked spirit some more questions, lifting the table towards myself and Tim for yes, away for no.  Ned was from Hungary, in the 1200’s, had three sons – Thomas, Sid and Rob.  The guests were asking spirit to give this information to them in their heads, and some guests were getting the same information.  The table would lift yes/ no to confirm this.  He also had a wife called Laura who had died in childbirth.  Two guests had pain in their lower back, and spirit confirmed he had affected them.  When asked to take the pain away, their backs stopped hurting.  We finished the session with spirit moving the table rapidly around the room, spinning in many random movements, to the point with just three guests touching the table with their ‘pinkies’.

Group B – Again we had Ned with us again, moving the table immediately for the guests.  Lots of spinning, tipping and rocking.  On the Ouija we had some movement, a male spirit aged 23 with he initials EJU.  He said there were 6 spirits in the room with us.  We did try the writing planchette and this time had a lot of drawing.  Asking spirit to draw his first initial a letter N was drawn.  Asking spirit to write the number of people touching the planchette (there were five) the number 5 was drawn.  After the session had finished, one guest said he had felt a tug on his trousers when I started with the circle.  With all of us holding hands he felt surprised to have felt this.
In the free session I joined two girls with a KII & Ghost Pro in the tunnel in area 10.  We did hear footsteps walking towards us, and felt tingles on us too.  Then we joined some more guests in room 10 table tipping.  The spirit that was with us was a French male that had been in this area earlier.  He was able to answer some questions by lifting the table to show yes & no.  He had passed over between 50 – 100 years ago, of natural causes aged over 50.  He had fought in WW2.  He was not connected to the fort, but his wife had worked here.  He was unhappy because his wife had an affair, and had a child with this man.  Although being unhappy he still felt happy to be here with us, and was able to move the table a lot.  We asked if he could make a noise that we could here, and we heard a whistle in the room.  We asked again and there was a whistle heard in the corridor.  We asked again as some guests were still unsure if they had heard it, and everyone heard a whistle again next to us.  Three female guests wanted to visit the new area above us, whilst the rest of us returned to base.  When these guests returned they said as they had been leaving the tunnel in the new area they heard a very loud female scream in the tunnel.  They stopped and started to return to the tunnel, but on hearing the scream again, decided not to go any further.

Would definitely like to check out that area when we return.

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt – 7th March 2015 (Kym)

Wednesday, March 18th, 2015

Red Lion Hotel ghost hunt 7th March 2015
Colchester, Essex

Area: Room’s 9 + 10
Equipment: Scrying, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, Glass Work

Group B – Started in room 9 by showing the guests how to use the dowsing rods & pendulums, and all were amazed by the movement they received.  Most had a male spirit with them.  Louise (guest) had the name Simon.  Asking the rods confirmed yes that was his name.  We tried some scrying but wasn’t able to see much change.  We then went to room 10 to try some glasswork and after while we did get some movement on the glass.  One guest Shane stopped touching the glass and started asking spirit questions in his head, and was amazed that the glass started moving much faster, and moving to where he was asking.  The spirit was a boy aged 12 called Simon.  He drew the letter S for his first initial.  He was with his mum, but not his dad.  His dad wasn’t very nice.  They had both been killed by the dad.  They had lived here at the hotel.

Group A – With the next group we again started in room 9 with the rods & pendulums and had lots of movement.  We tried some scrying but couldn’t see any changes.  We moved to room 10.  Whilst some guests were trying some glass work, others were taking it in turns to stand in the short corridor joining the two rooms.  Taps were being heard in the door to room 9 but no-one was in there.  We did get some glass movement when our time was up, stayed for a short while longer and the glass was moving around the table rapidly.

Area: Restaurant
Equipment: Ouija, Table Tipping, Writing Planchette

Group B – This group decided not to stay so I joined Steve in room 10 for the Tech Session.  We were initially using Ghost Pro’s & Mel Meter.  Also our newest member of the team, Tarquin the Boo Buddy Bear was with us.  It was noted when the bear said it was getting warm in here, the temperature on the Mel meter increased, but not by significant amounts i.e.. 73.4 to 73.9.  We then turned on the Ovilus and was receiving words that did seem to match the bear i.e.. Play time and the word “play” being shown.  We turned on the Spirit Box but had no words at all.  Throughout the ghost pro’s were lighting up and guests were asking various questions.  Some guests in room 9 came through asking if we had whistled, as they had been hearing whistling the room, but we hadn’t and had not heard the whistling at all.

Group A – This last controlled session we started with the four male guests on the ouija and Steve assisting.  I joined the remaining four guests on the writing planchette but had no movement at all.  On the ouija the spirit of Timothy was with them.  He was six years old and seemed to just want to play.  We then tried some table tipping and immediately the table started lifting.  The table then lifted on one corner and started turning, faster when we asked.  We then asked if spirit could take the table into the adjoining room to the bar, and the table started sliding, similar to skiing, towards the bar.  It then continued to lift and spin when we asked.

For the free session myself and Louise joined four guests in the cellar who had the ouija board.  They had a male spirit with them who had worked in this building in the 1400’s before it was the Red Lion.  He had died in the cellar of a heart attack.  They had heard him talking next to them before we had come down.

Fun night with some lovely guests!

Charlton House ghost hunt 31st January 2015 (Kym)

Tuesday, March 10th, 2015

Charlton House ghost hunt 31st January 2015

Area: Cellar
Equipment: Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, Writing Planchette

Group B – We started by using the dowsing rods & pendulums, and each person had lots of movement from the start, we were also hearing noises near us, but couldn’t ascertain what.  We asked spirit to point the rods to where the spirit was standing and they pointed towards where the noise came from.  We explored the area for short while, and whilst all standing in one area we heard a male breath next to us twice, asking the rods to point where the spirit was standing, they pointed towards where we heard the noise.  We tried the writing planchette and had some gentle movement at first, then the planchette started moving in a very fast circular pattern, changing direction and speed when asked.  The planchette would lift up on the corners too.  We asked spirit to move the planchette to places on the paper to indicate yes & no, and was able to answer a few questions.  He was male and drew the number 8 for his age.  But we felt the energy was too strong for a boy.

Group C – Started with rods & pendulums, and all were moving.  Asking questions we had a male and female spirit.  Rods again all pointed to where we felt the spirit(s) were.  With the writing planchette we had again random circles, and when requesting spirit to show the planchette a yes & no, confirmed a child again.  Were feeling cold touches on our hands when touching the planchette.  We kept hearing noises, similar to someone walking over a metal manhole cover.  In a different part of the cellar there is an air event to outside, unsure what was on the outside though.  However, we did feel the noise came from near us, and there were manhole covers in the cellar.  I walked with one guest to a different part of the cellar and we felt extreme cold next to us, but this was not near the outside vent.  Then after a short while it moved away from both of us.

Group D – Using the rods & pendulums we picked up again on a male & female spirit, and again after a short while all guests went to explore the area.  With the writing planchette the movement was alot more gentle.  We asked spirit to draw the number of guests touching the planchette – it was four – and the number 4 was drawn.  With another guest (not on the table) drawing a shape on paper, we asked spirit to copy it, with the guests touching the planchette not seeing what was drawn.  It was a circle in a square, however only a circle was drawn.  Tried again with a triangle, but planchette just drew lots of random circles, etc.  Guests tried with just touching the planchette with pinkies and it continued drawing all over the paper.  The planchette also kept lifting up many times too.

Group A – Started with rods & pendulums, and again a male & female spirit were with us. Louise (guest) went to sit in a small area that had stairs going to no-where.  She started feeling very sad, wanting to cry.  They were picking up on a male spirit that had raped women.  All went to explore, and two guests came running back as they heard footsteps behind them but no-one there.  Julie (guest) went to check and she heard the footsteps behind her, again no-one there.  We tried the writing planchette and it started moving.  Didn’t receive anything legible, except lots of random writing.

With the controlled sessions finished, all guests and team went to explore the whole building.  Initially I went with some guests and team to the loft, although spirit were present, I felt there were too many people there to get any evidence.  I then went to some upstairs rooms and watched some table tipping.  The table was moving alot, and we asked spirit to take the table back to Jo (team), who had been in that room earlier.  She was downstairs, and although spirit did try to ‘walk’ the table down the stairs, the steps were too slippery so the table ‘walked’ to the lift!  After coming out of the lift, the table was promptly ‘walked’ to Jo!  I then joined some guests in the library, and noticing a chair standing randomly in the middle of the room, I asked if the guests wanted to try ‘moving’ the chair.  We stood and kneeled around the chair and immediately it started rocking, very gently.  With the chair being padded and on a higly polished floor, we all felt it was impossible for anyone to make it happen.  Then we asked spirit to slide the table, and twice it did just that!
Again a fab night at Charlton House – looking forward to the next one!

Fort Borstal – 31st October 2014 (Kym)

Thursday, January 8th, 2015

Fort Borstal 31st October 2014
Rochester, Kent
Halloween Special

Area: Counterscarp ‘Dungeon’
Equipment: KII’s, Ghost Pro’s, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, Writing Planchette & Glass Work
This was a new area, of which we had only investigated on our recent live event, so was interested in what spirits liked to do here.

Group D – We started with the writing planchette as some of the guests had done that before, but unfortunately initially no movement.  We then switched to glass work and we had a male spirit wishing to communicate with us.  He had been married with children, lived in Kent, had passed over from an illness before the 1800’s, he was over 60 years old.  Asking spirit if they would like to use the writing planchette, with a yes we tried again.  We had a lot of writing, his initials were possibly M or W, he wrote the guests initials, he also copied a triangle and number 8 that I had drawn on a pad, not showing the guests, on to the paper.  He then copied what the guests were thinking in their head.  The planchette started tipping up randomly too.  We did hear a bang in the room next to us.  The spirit finished the session with lots of random patterns on the paper.  The spirit felt happy for us to be there.

Group A – Started with the writing planchette, and again received lots of random drawings, nothing too specific, except one of the guests initials when asked.  Some guests were using the rods and pendulums, and were asking spirit questions.  Two guests, when comparing information after, had both got the initial D for the spirit, and the name Daniel.  Remembering my previous session, we had got the letter D a few times on the paper.  Just when I thought it might be a good time to experiment, I asked Carol (guest) to write something down for the spirit to copy (she was standing away from the table), and at that point the planchette stopped, and Louise (guest) felt a thump on her side.  It was as if the spirit thought “sod this, I’m off!”.  We did get some slight movement with the glass, but decided to try table tipping briefly.  Just before we started though Emma (guest) heard a gust of wind pass her (no windows/doors open to cause this).  We did get quite a bit of lifting on the table.

Group B – Glass work – drew the letter I for initial – name Ian – yes.  British soldier connected to the fort, fought in France in WW1, but died in Kent of natural causes aged over 70.  He died in Medway Hospital, and at this point one of the guests, Amanda, asked if she had cared for him when she worked there.  Yes – in Keats Ward where she worked.  Asked if Byron ward – no.  He died in 1999 when she was a student nurse there, but she couldn’t remember him as she had cared for the elderly and many had passed.  He did confirm there were 9 spirits with us, and he knew them.
Group C – With my last group we started with the rods & pendulums.  Again asking spirit questions.  We tried the writing planchette but had no movement.  Tried the glass, and had some slight movement, but not enough to ask questions.  We then tried some table tipping and had a few lifts/tilts.

Fort Horsted – 11th October 2014 (Kerry)

Thursday, January 8th, 2015

Fort Horsted 11th October 2014 –  The Hanging Room
Chatham, Kent

1st Session

We had a group of eight guests so we split the group in half, four on each Ouija table. On my table it took a while for the glass to move but when it did, a female spirit came through who spelled out her name was Lowan. She then proceeded to spell out the word Mam and when asked if she was a mum, the glass moved to yes. We managed to find out that she was searching for her two-year-old daughter also in spirit but couldn’t find her. She kept moving the glass from the word No to each letter of the alphabet in turn in a fast and aggressive manner, but we couldn’t establish why she was doing this. She kept doing this repeatedly and was unresponsive to our questions. When asked if she was angry, she responded with Yes. We got the impression she didn’t like men as the only man at the table was Jake and she seemed aggressive when he asked any questions. We asked her if she wanted him to leave, to which she responded yes, so he came off the table. Then someone asked if she was happy now and she responded yes, and from that point on she was more cooperative and responsive to questions.
2nd Session

Once again we had eight guests so they were split into two groups, four on the Ouija and four on the table with the writing planchette. My group started on the Ouija and straight away before I had even asked if anyone was there, the glass started moving. We had a very strong female energy who spelled out her name was Nancy. She wouldn’t tell us her age but said that her husband worked at the Fort and she had five children. When asked a question she would start to spell the words and when someone in the group tried to guess what she was spelling before she had finished and got it wrong, she would forcefully push the glass to No, then proceed to spell out the word again from the beginning. We then asked her if she was able to draw a shape if we thought of one in our heads, and she responded yes. So a couple of the guests had a turn at doing this and Nancy drew the correct shape each time.
We then swapped over to the writing planchette and it started moving very fast as soon as we placed our fingers on it. The spirit started drawing the triangle shape which we had previously asked to be drawn on the Ouija. We then established that this was again the spirit of Nancy. She kept continuously moving the planchette very fast in a triangular shape. Then it would stop and she proceeded to lift the planchette up on its side. We then asked if she could lift it up on the other side to which she responded.
Kym’s group on the Ouija had a spirit by the name of Amber Quin, aged 27, who worked at the Fort and claimed to know Paul. She said she was born in 1945 and died in 1973. When asked if she had a message for Paul, she spelled out Hello.
3rd Session

Again we had eight guests and split into two groups. There was no activity at all during this session on the Ouija or writing planchette. However we did get some knocks and bangs in the room as well as coming from down the stairs. We started calling out asking spirit to copy our knocks to which we got responses on a number of occasions. Carl, who was filming, captured a dark shadow moving across from the room to the doorway.

Rye Castle – 10th October 2014 (Kym)

Rye Castle ghost hunt 10th October 2014
Rye, East Sussex

Area: Women’s Tower/Prison
Equipment: Writing Planchette, Glass Work, Table Tipping, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums

Group B – This was my first visit to Rye Castle this year, so was looking forward to the investigation.  Whilst setting up earlier I had noticed the Ghost Pro was doing a lot of random flashing so decided not to use any electronic equipment.  We started with the pendulums & rods, and all had some movement.  One person didn’t and seeing his frustration, I asked him to control my pendulum, so whilst I was holding it he would ask in his head for spirit to move the pendulum in a particular way, and each time my pendulum moved to his request.  This surprised him.  We were asking the spirit questions, and we were receiving the same information: male, British, died here in his 50’s, possibly 8 or 10 spirits with us.  Ted (curator) was feeling his pendulum being pulled from his fingers.  He felt he had the female spirit of Dorothy with him, but she wouldn’t come closer because the Jailor was present.  One guest, whilst holding the rods, asked for them to rotate continuous, and was surprised when they both did it instantly.  We tried the writing planchette but no movement.  We tried the glass, but only little movement.  We then tried table tipping, and the table lifted up slowly one side, but just stayed there until it fell over.  We tried again and it did the same.  Tash (guest) had started feeling pins & needles in her hand, and when she started feeling stabbing pains, looked down to see her hand had swollen a lot.  The pain then started moving up her arm.  We moved the guests around the table, but Tash’s hand remained swollen and painful.  However, Ted was now in the corner where Tash had been, and he was being pulled backwards off the table, until he was in the corner.  Ted decided he should step outside, and with only a little more movement on the table, we tried the writing planchette again, but without the paper and pen.  The planchette started moving around the table slowly, then the planchette started lifting up and down on one corner.  Then it moved to the edge of the table and started moving around the table edge.

Group A – Started with the rods & pendulums, most receiving movement, and we had between 20 – 25 spirits with us!  Adam (guest) whatever he tried would get no movement.  This seemed to be a pattern all night, as if he was being protected.  We started with some table tipping, and had some movement.  We tried glass work which worked better.  Adam, Ryan & Ted were feeling very cold on the backs of their lower legs. We also heard a noise from outside, the same time as Olly (guest) saw a shadow come into the room.  The spirit on the glass was female, aged 33, passed in the 1450’s, and was just passing through.  However she also said she was connected to Adam, and was protecting him.  Adam then asked some personal questions and was very surprised by the answers ie. asking spirit to draw with the glass the dates he was born, house number, and other significant information.
We had now started with the free session and guests went off to do their own investigation with equipment.  I returned to the Women’s Tower, and my last group were back there talking to the same spirit using the glass.  We did switch to the writing planchette and surprisingly we received a lot of drawings, including initials R G for the spirit, go, no, yes, and then Adams name and a heart.
We then went to the basement of the Castle, which had been used as a mortuary, and tried some table tipping.  With only 15 minutes left we asked spirit to step forward quickly, to which he did.  However with table lifting one way for yes, and opposite for no, it seemed spirit did not want Adam on the table.  With just Ryan and friend, the table started lifting and spinning to everyone’s amazement.

A great end to the night – looking forward to next time !

Marwell Hall ghost hunt – 29-3-2014 (Kym)

Marwell Hall ghost hunt 29th March 2014
Winchester, Hampshire

Area: Rear Downstairs Room Equipment: KII’s, Ghost Pro’s, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, Writing Planchette

Group C – After getting over the initial excitement of being in a new location, and a zoo!… we started with explaining how to use the dowsing rods and pendulums.  Guests started receiving movement, and establishing their yes & no’s.  It’s always lovely seeing the guests’ reaction to this.  I then split the group with half trying the writing planchette, and the rest continuing to use rods & pendulums, with ghost pro’s and KII’s.  Those using the ghost pro’s had two male spirits with them, one was a soldier, stationed at Marwell in WW2.  I asked the spirit to touch the guest, and he was surprised to immediately feel a tingling up his spine.  The group with the writing planchette were receiving movement from a little boy age 10.  With the promise to bring him a ball to play with, the drawing increased.  We asked that he draw a ball, and to everyone’s surprise he did.  The other group were feeling a lot of touches – tingling sensations, with cold spots.  I then swapped the groups and this group had some movement with the planchette.  One guest sensed her brother Douglas was with them.  Each time I would return to this group my head hurt, when mentioning this, another guest was experiencing the same and it was revealed the spirit had died from a brain tumour.  The other group continued to have communication with the little boy on the ghost pro, I felt his name was Adam, and the ghost pro confirmed this was correct.  I went to get the balls we had promised, and the guests laid them on floor, asking for the boy to move them.  It was the end of the session, and as the guests went to retrieve their bags, when looking at the balls before they left they noticed the balls had indeed moved.

Group A – we started again with explaining to the guests how to use the rods & pendulums.  One guest who had used the rods before was able to find out the spirit with her was female, and had lived and worked at Marwell.  We then tried the writing planchette but had no movement, we tried to see if spirit would move the glass but again no movement, we then turned on the Spirit Box and the glass started moving, very gently.  With a lot of encouragement from everyone the glass continued to move, asking spirit to move the glass to the spirit box, it did until the glass pushed the box off the table.  The glass continued to move gently around the table, no words came through on the spirit box.  We did have a lot of ghost pro activity.

Group B – With my last group, after trying the rods & pendulums and receiving some movement, the guests wanted to try and communicate with spirit through the glass on table.  I sat back with the Ovilus and had the word “girl” come through.  The glass started moving, and after establishing where a yes & no were on the table asked spirit to confirm if they were a girl – yes.  She also said she was frightened of being told off by her mother.  She did however move the glass more, and at guests request took the glass to each corner of the table.

For the final free session I went to the upstairs room where Steve had been with guests all night.  This room didn’t have a nice feel to it, I couldn’t put my finger on it, but would not stay in this room on my own, and when asking guests several times if they wanted to do a solo, all said no!
